      Kind of similar thing's happened at my team Tottenham Hotspur, with Richarlison.
      A very expensive, extremely hard working and good natured, confidence player, who until 3 weeks ago couldn't buy a good performance or goal, despite still being starting centre forward for Brazil and linked with Barcelona, Chelsea and Man Utd before we signed him.
      The fanbase went from constantly complaining about how he was our worst player even when we won, to making a huge effort to support him, almost overnight, after he went public with the mental health issues, following a photograph of him in tears after being substituted for his country.
      A sub appearance 0-1 down to the worst team in the league, days later, saw an equalising goal and match-winning assist, seconds apart, in the final moments of the game. The club captain literally pushing him to the front of the players taking the crowds applause.
      2 weeks later he sets up the opening goal for the same club captain in a win against Liverpool, looking one of the most confident and dangerous players on the pitch.

But the Cubbies being the Cubbies decided to drop 6 out of 7 to their main rival for their spot (dbacks) and also not mentioned in this went 2-4 against the Rockies and the Pirates, two of the worst teams in baseball. The only playoff team not mentioned in this video. The MN Twins at 87-75, will somehow win it all in a rematch of the '91 World Series. Where 6 games are decided by 1 run. That's my prediction for a weird postseason finale.

    • @LordPichuPal
      @LordPichuPal Год назад

      I think Minnesota got a pass because the AL Central was just a total wreck. They were in no danger of losing it for over a month or two and even my Tigers finished 78-84, good for 2nd place behind them, marking the Twins as the only team to get a winning record. Plus the Sox and Royals both lost over 100 games each. There's no drama in how they won the division, and arguably they're the weakest link in the AL playoffs (which is unfortunate because I don't mind the Twins either, though I like the Blue Jays more)

All in all though, besides my white sox being ass this season was very fun to watch, it was also nice to see teams like the orioles, dbacks, and other generally low-payroll franchises make it to the postseason
