A very expensive, extremely hard working and good natured, confidence player, who until 3 weeks ago couldn't buy a good performance or goal, despite still being starting centre forward for Brazil and linked with Barcelona, Chelsea and Man Utd before we signed him. The fanbase went from constantly complaining about how he was our worst player even when we won, to making a huge effort to support him, almost overnight, after he went public with the mental health issues, following a photograph of him in tears after being substituted for his country. A sub appearance 0-1 down to the worst team in the league, days later, saw an equalising goal and match-winning assist, seconds apart, in the final moments of the game. The club captain literally pushing him to the front of the players taking the crowds applause. 2 weeks later he sets up the opening goal for the same club captain in a win against Liverpool, looking one of the most confident and dangerous players on the pitch.

Philly fans have a heart if you put yours out there on the field, they're loving, you just gotta earn it. Nick Foles for example never has to buy a single drink in Philly because he helped bring a Super Bowl to Philly. What he didn't do with other teams doesn't matter.

It was technically up in the air until the last two games of the season. If the Mariners went 2-0 and the Blue Jays had gone 0-2, the Mariners would have made it regardless of how well Houston did. It's also worth noting that the Mariners won game 4 against the Rangers. Why? Because them going 3-1 meant that Astros won the AL West instead of the Rangers.

Absolute heartbreaker of a season for the Cubs, and for it to be immortalized on Suzuki after he just smashed the ball all month really stung. No one in Chicago expected them to compete--I figured they'd play 500 baseball probably, but nothing much else. And then that tear they went on after the all-star break was astounding. Funny how the Mariners' streak started when Cade Marlow got called up and ended when he was sent back down. Its almost like having someone you can guarantee will get in base takes the pressure off the big bats to perform...
the trea turner standing ovations has to be the highlight of this season..and from a city that always (unfairly) gets crapped on for having the meanest fans. you don't have to be a Phillies fan or even a fan of baseball to see how special that moment was.
Not unfairly at all lol, I’ve lived in Philly all my life and the fans suck. I had my Yasiel puig poster ripped out of my hands when I was 10 years old by drunk Philly fans. They destroy property whether they win or lose. Philly fans suck wholeheartedly
So from what I'm understanding the Angels are the PSG of the baseball teams---have a lot of talent but have no idea what to do with them, and in the end all of that talent leaves.
As a Dodgers fan, I love Trea Turner. Watching him struggle was so hard, but to see him explode back into form was probably the best part of the season. Plus it being off of the fans supporting him is just another reason I love baseball

Maybe the A’s did some deep-digging on vineyards, varietals, and vintages and found that the less-expensive, often overlooked wine was better than it should be for the price.
The only playoff team not mentioned in this video. The MN Twins at 87-75, will somehow win it all in a rematch of the '91 World Series. Where 6 games are decided by 1 run. That's my prediction for a weird postseason finale.
I think Minnesota got a pass because the AL Central was just a total wreck. They were in no danger of losing it for over a month or two and even my Tigers finished 78-84, good for 2nd place behind them, marking the Twins as the only team to get a winning record. Plus the Sox and Royals both lost over 100 games each. There's no drama in how they won the division, and arguably they're the weakest link in the AL playoffs (which is unfortunate because I don't mind the Twins either, though I like the Blue Jays more)
Aw man. You didn't mention the Rookie Loaded Reds improving by 21 wins on the year and being part of that CRAZY NL WIldcard race until the 2nd to last day of the season.
The shooting incident at guaranteed rate was probably the most interesting part of the white sox season. All in all though, besides my white sox being ass this season was very fun to watch, it was also nice to see teams like the orioles, dbacks, and other generally low-payroll franchises make it to the postseason Edit: just a side note, the NL central was definitely not the worst division, the AL central was definitely worse, other than that, great video.

"2023 season just got even weirder" and you don't even mention anything about the Jays making the playoffs with the worst RISP scoring in the majors and a 10% chance of making the playoffs a month ago
This is the 1st season I watch in it's entirely in over a decade and man what a great season!
I love the pitch clock the games faster and better to me. Fantasy baseball revived my love for the game and I came back in a great season imo
I'm a Yankees fan we sucked this season but I like to watch a few other teams I wouldn't mind a Braves vs Orioles or Rays (any team but Houston) World Series.
Funny how the Mariners' streak started when Cade Marlow got called up and ended when he was sent back down. Its almost like having someone you can guarantee will get in base takes the pressure off the big bats to perform...
I think the mariner's management is definitely a factor in how badly we did. We didn't buy players, and paid for it.
Or they just suck
Saving up for Shohei
@@Tylerrrrrbthey wouldn’t sniff a playoff spot late at all if they sucked.
We did the opposite of buy players. We sold our best reliever at the trade deadline.
@@mbdg6810 they didnt make the playoffs, they suck
I don’t blame rendon for how he’s responding to the reporter since it’s the same damn guy hounding him about his injuries
The Trae Turner story in Philly was so cool. Imagine if he does damage in the playoffs. Can’t wait
And quoting Phil Swift, NOW THAT'S A LOTTA DAMAGE!
.471 hitting percentage, over 1.200 OPS, 15 total hits, 8 extra-base hits and 3 HRs.
The only real disappointment has been in the field errors, but Phillies are winning regardless.
Spoke it into existence
The plastic bucket would make a great party hat, especially if you didn't have a lampshade.
the trea turner standing ovations has to be the highlight of this season..and from a city that always (unfairly) gets crapped on for having the meanest fans. you don't have to be a Phillies fan or even a fan of baseball to see how special that moment was.
Unfairly?
yup @@cjm9816
Not unfairly at all lol, I’ve lived in Philly all my life and the fans suck. I had my Yasiel puig poster ripped out of my hands when I was 10 years old by drunk Philly fans. They destroy property whether they win or lose. Philly fans suck wholeheartedly
So from what I'm understanding the Angels are the PSG of the baseball teams---have a lot of talent but have no idea what to do with them, and in the end all of that talent leaves.
24 Reds....Can't wait
3:03 this is why I don't trust anyone/anything/any group... Technical issues? *There was literally a crime scene!*
As a Dodgers fan, I love Trea Turner. Watching him struggle was so hard, but to see him explode back into form was probably the best part of the season. Plus it being off of the fans supporting him is just another reason I love baseball
I was at the game we’re they gave trey the ovation. I was confused why, but after this video I understand now.
The Blue Jays were defenitly not a "set" postseason team at any point this year, and had a final month and a half that is worthy of this "insanity" video haha
The Mets grounds crew knowing it was going to be a tropical storm is not true cuz we got hit with an unexpected flood Friday
As devastated as I am my cubs aren't going to make it. The fact we were in position for the SECOND wc spot OR the division in mid September is an incredible step forward. All while taillon was essentially below league average
@1:52 was that Frank the Tank 😂
Its a great season thats for sure Acuna getting a Mbp and Gerrit Cole getting a CY Young award ohtani another MVP
This video is so weird for basically omitting the Jays and Reds from the wild card chase
Best year season wide in my lifetime! Let's go JAYS!!!

As someone who lives near Philly please look into the Philly Captain if you have time, dudes funny asf 😂 there’s a video of him screaming at Zack Hample
This guy puts out quality content and has been doing it for a while. Also his delivery is spot on and engaging. You could start a channel about llamas and I’d probably watch. Congrats on the channel growth my man! I’ve been subbed for a long time.
You, jxmy highroller, and Flemlo raps are probably my favorite sports video creators, and I'd say there's never been a video that wasn't informative or for you and jxmy, been especially entertaining.
Definitely batting/redzone/shooting 100% respectively 👍
We found another Jxmy enjoyer. May your pillow always be cold, and may your toast always be perfect.
@@darrelleaster5381 Same to you.
I'd say it's testament to how society is if someone doesn't enjoy or at the very least cannot appreciate how well done these videos are to be motnonly entertaining, but to scrape through the mountains of data to get to the relevant numbers to use in the correct context, all while being more entertaining than the majority of the lackluster, originality bankrupt content that networks put out as "entertainment".
i love when this man uploads! keep it up!!!😁😁😁
The tre turner thing is so cool and shows how huge confidence is in sports. I think it's the biggest in baseball and basketball.
What time would you recommend getting to the stadium before the playoff games?
This guy's sole mission is to hype baseball, and I'm here for it.
There's no drama in how they won the division, and arguably they're the weakest link in the AL playoffs (which is unfortunate because I don't mind the Twins either, though I like the Blue Jays more)
This past September was so hard to watch as a Cub's fan
Should have mentioned the Reds! They were in contention literally until the 2nd last game
Aw man. You didn't mention the Rookie Loaded Reds improving by 21 wins on the year and being part of that CRAZY NL WIldcard race until the 2nd to last day of the season.
De la Cruz is overrated
The shooting incident at guaranteed rate was probably the most interesting part of the white sox season. All in all though, besides my white sox being ass this season was very fun to watch, it was also nice to see teams like the orioles, dbacks, and other generally low-payroll franchises make it to the postseason
Edit: just a side note, the NL central was definitely not the worst division, the AL central was definitely worse, other than that, great video.
We all know what was really the most interesting thing about the white Sox season this year ..hint… haymaker
The addition of Frank the Tank was amazing
Imagine how much more crazy this would all be if baseball existed 😮
Man I love these uploads more than anything, I swear 🔥👍🏽⚾️
If there’s one thing that’s stayed the same throughout the season, it’s that the braves are without a doubt the best team in baseball
I’m not even from US, barely understand 1/4 of MLB rules but this channel has gets me hooked on the sport
I liked my own comment
Ok
I disliked your comment
Seeing a clip from a game you were at on this channel is top tier.
One of the greatest regular seasons of all time; so many surprises!
i like how he just didnt mention the twins or the AL central at all
trea turner is just an example of the shine thoery. Instead of bringing the person down ,lift them up. It has a better impact. On the flip side, the yankees did the opposite last year in the poat season to arron Judge, and all it did was add frustration and a terrible performance hitting .063 in the alds.
The Trea Turner thing is a great example of how talent and skill mean little if your confidence isn’t there. Baseball is largely a mental game.
We may say ten years from now that 2023 was one of the best baseball years of our lives. I won't forget it that's for sure.
Front office definitely hired a spy😂 that sucks
We got BDE upload + playoffs? What could be better
I don't see how this season is any weirder than another, but I do appreciate the recap. I mean if you want weird, the 2020 season was it, no?
