when you posted this stuff i was in grade seven and 8yrs later Iam now a computer engineering student it is still working I dont know how to thank you sir ,good work.
I love khan academy, but honestly its mostly for high school level stuff and It helped during hs. Patrick JMT helps me more with my college stuff. Whenever I needed help with calc 1 for my engineering coursework, I found Patrick jmt loads of help with related rates and optimization etc. and he totally saved my butt for many a calc exam. Thnx a lot.
Don't stop what you're doing. You're one of the few people who can present calculus in less than 20 mins, and make complete sense, more so than any of my professors, and I've taken calculus 3 times. You're awesome, thanks so much.
I simply cannot understand WHY my professor would leave virtually ALL of this surrounding information out of our lesson on this theorem. Thank you so very much for illuminating the facts of this process/calculation. I'm stunned.
Holy crap, I have a huge calculus test tomorrow and I was freaking out because I couldn't understand anything until I found this video! Thanks so much! You have pretty much saved my soul. :D I love how lessons on youtube are so much more easier to understand than lessons in class....
I'm 12th grade taking calculus....you saved my life...because of you I know it's not me it's that my teacher sucks at teaching...you are the best teacher ever this is so helpful thank you so much idk his much more I can say thank you. You're a genius
Thanks Patrick! My AP Calculus BC class at Geneseo High School watches your videos all the time. My teacher is a huge fan and often refers to you as his buddy and talks about how he wants you to come in to talk to us. :) You have a ton of fans here in Illinois!
You're videos have taught me what my Calculus professor has been trying to teach my class for 6 months and failed miserably at. And I’m a math major, so I am pretty good at math, but he does math and we watch while you explain. Thank You, you’re videos have helped save my Calc grade.
I wish I knew about you from the start, I would have never faild college math, thank you for what you are doing I believe I speak for millions around the world :)
I cannot explain to you how immensly grateful me and the rest of the people who watch these videos are to you. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. You are awesome!!!
yep, that is it! you can think of the slope of the line connecting the endpoints as being the mean in the sense that it represents the average rate of change of the function on that interval. it says there is a tangent line on the graph in that interval with the same average rate of change! so the instantaneous rate of change must equal the average rate of change!
I am a junior in high school in Calc A, your videos are especially helpful. My math teacher literally assigns homework and never teaches us how to do it. I'm so glad I found your videos, especially since I will take Calc BC next year as a senior. Thanks a lot dude, you're very helpful. :)
I know it's been said a million times, but I'm gonna say it again. Thank you so much for making me one of the very few people that doesn't feel like they're going to fail today's final exam. You my friend, are an actual teacher.
Your explanation for the negative exponent was something I was looking for hours. I got tired, so I moved on to your videos and BEHOLD the answer was here unexpectedly!
Hats off to you sir. Maths was never easy then now. I personally recommend my friends to bunk the classes and watch your videos coz the teachers here don't even bother touching the roots of the topic like you. You are gifted sir and I hope your videos never end. I love em all. I watch even those which are not even in my course. Thank you Sir.
I joined online school, and they don't even provide teachers for me who can teach calculus. This whole semester I've been stuck not knowing what to do until I found your videos. I would have failed the class and the AP Test for sure if not for your teaching. Now I'm getting a B!!
you are awesome man whenever i get confused with my math problems, i just come here and you just clear everything up you helped me so much, thanks so much
dude you are a life saver honestly...you must hear this alot but OMG you are A BEAST IN MATHS AND TEACHING IT!!...getting the message across like a BOSS.!
Patrick, thank you. I used to be so good at math. I loved to read, so in high school all I'd do is read during math class. I maintained a minimum of an A-. Then here comes college where I can skip class altogether. Note: I have been going to class most of the time, but I'm very flexible about skipping. Obviously, I regretted it when I got a poor grade on our 1st midterm. Which was way too hard, even the professor said so. But for this midterm, I'm feeling so much more confidant, thanks to you!
Dude no words can describe how awesome you are ! You truly have a gift of teaching. I don't know how to explain it but it must be an accumulation of things that you do to convey to your audience and make them understand the material !
i can honestly say without a hint of exaggeration that i learn more in these 10 - 15 min vids you make, than i do during a one hour and forty min lecture by my teacher. i just wish you did calc based physics too.
Hello patrick I just want to say thank you very much, I was out from school for 5 years and now im getting back to it, I must admit Im not doing that good, but mainly because I do not understand my teacher, the only good thing about it is that I can always rely on this wonderful videos you post, to get a better idea of what I'm doing, thank you very much and please keep up the great work......
my teacher explained this to my class yesterday and i had no idea what was going on lol. Watched this and I know exactly whats going on :) Thanks a bunch!
I'm taking an 8 week course of Calculus. THANK YOU SO MUCH for clearing up many things that my Professor could not thoroughly explain! You are awesome Patrick!!
Thank you so much. This video alone taught me more than my teacher taught in the last chapter and a half. You may have saved my graduation. Thank you again
thank you! i'm from sweden, but our calculus book is in english for some reason. your videos help a lot, both when it comes to understanding the subject and to learning the english terminology. tack så mycket!
yo man, I am in life science first year, and i HAVE to take calc for my program even though i dont need it in the future...and i hate calc. however watching this videos makes everything so much easier, its practically motivating me to do good in school. keep up the good work
I honestly don't wanna sound cocky or anything when I ask this but I would really like someone to explain how this is used in everyday life and why are we made to learn it?
do you study calc or your just taking a G.L.E.R. course? MVT helps with some calc and calc is a part of how we derive equationd for physics or I'm sure ( although I'm not taking chemistry ) some chemical equations. But in terms of everyday life alking around on the street nothing absolutely nothing.
Its not really useful if you aren't becoming an engineer, but, without forming a basis of understanding for calculus a lot of modern technology we have today would not exist
Math is extremely useful for describing and understanding the world. It applies to everything in the universe; literally everything and anything. There is nothing that exists that violates mathematics. If you understand an idea in mathematics, you understand something that is true about the very nature of reality, something that is timeless and eternal, something thats extremely abstract and yet more real than anything else. Math is useful because applies to everything you can think of, but even more so, its useful because its interesting and simply amazing.
It's very helpful for me to prepare Calculus BC exam.I even pay for VPN in order to watch your video on youtube since we are not allowed to use youtube in China.
i wanna take a minute and thank you for postin all these videos, thanx to you, i am doing amazing in my calc class and i feel less stressed knowin that you also have videos for calc 2, 3, nd differential questions. Thanx Patrick you r my math hero
Dear Sir, Please accept my sincere thanks for explaning the topic so nicely and easily. Hope you upload some more videos. Thanks again. The example was very nice to understand the concept
Thanks for all your great videos! I go to class and come home extremely frustrated cause my teacher sucks. Once I watch your videos I feel a lot better. I actually kind of like calculus cause of you. thanks for the videos and keep em coming :)
Hello PatrickJMT, I had to post a comment thanking you for all the time you put into these videos. I have been using justmathtutoring(dotcom) for my Calculus class and I always find it very very useful! Your videos are very easy to understand and the examples you use are great, a little complicated but that's how I learn the hard ones to do the easy ones faster!! Good luck on your career and thanks again for all your help.
Open intervals are written with parenthesis"(" and ")". Close interval is written with brackets "[" and "]". But writing intervals with parenthesis may confuse it for a coordinate in the cartesian plane. I suggest that you write intervals as "axb". :)
Amazing!! Many of your videos are EXTREMELY relevant to what I am doing now!! (I am a first year maths undergraduate) Thank you very much for your videos!
I can't thank you enough! ^.^ You really help out a lot of people like me. Just some quick last minute studying and this is really making sense. You are better than my teacher at explaining this!
Patrick, Thanks for the videos! All of them are fantastic to me, I really like the way how you explain everything step by step. From calgary, AB, Canada.
thank you so much for your videos.. I am running short on time because I have a lot to do and little time to study for calculus so i find it difficult to sit down read everything in the textbook (i don't understand my professor), so I always look at your videos and they make everything so EASYY and fast ..
