    Thanks for the detailed information. I’m a non-EU citizen and will arrive to Poland sooner this year. However, I will be staying at a hotel for my 1st month and will just find a permanent apartment after arrival there. Is the address of the hotel for the first month valid for the purpose of applying for PESEL and residence registration?

      Hi Julius!
      Good to hear that you liked our video!
      Unfortunately, you can't register your residence address in a hotel. When you find an apartment, you can register your address and get a PESEL number.
      Wish you luck with searching for an apartment and see you in Poland!

      This time is based on the average waiting time. Of course you can do this earlier, this is just a recommendation for all foreigners with 12-month VISA.

    I am an EU national, and I am trying to get through the process of getting registered. I believe you have to do Zameldowanie before the residence registration. Am I correct ? Also, I am a bit confused why I have to register my residence twice essentialy. One with the city and one with the Voidvodship... Any clarificaiton on the paper work process for EU nationals would be great. Thank you.

    • @wellcomehome
      @wellcomehome  2 года назад +1

      Hi! Firstly, you have to go to the Voivodeship's office to register yourself, as an EU citizen staying in Poland for over 3 months. Then you have to go to a city hall or a district office to register your address. In the Voivodeship office you register your stay in Poland, so it is legal. Zameldowanie (address registration) is an information where you stay, Poles also have to register their address. The address registration is necessary when dealing with some formalities. We hope you find this information useful!

    • @wordsshackles441
      @wordsshackles441 2 года назад

      @@wellcomehome Thank you but you might want to take the time to double check your information because the Voivoidship does appear to ask for your Zameldowanie in order to register with them. What a mess.
      A general warning to people who want to come live in Poland, that the paper work here is extremely time consuming and to an extent disrespectful towards the applicants, especially relative to the complete lack of clear and non-contradictory instructions relative to the various administrative processes. You will need to be extremely patient with them as they are very rigid and out dated when it comes to bureaucracy and administrative work.

    • @wellcomehome
      @wellcomehome  2 года назад

      Hi there! Thanks for your comment.
      As for the Voivodeship Office: according to official Polish government website you don’t need to provide Zameldowanie to register your stay. If your office asked you to do so, then we guess it was required regionally. Could you please let us know which office it was?
      As for the bureaucracy: we do agree Polish relocation and immigration procedures are tough (like any paper work and legal issues) and that’s why we launched this channel: to make it a little bit easier to understand for a foreigner.
      Thanks for your input :slightly_smiling_face:

      Hi @John John! We're glad that our video helped you! As for the papers - they must be done at latest on the first day after your 3 months of legal stay ends, so it means that can be done earlier too :) When it come to a bank, everything depends on which bank you choose and its terms and conditions. The best option is to contact a bank in which you would like to open an account and then contact them for details. Many foreigners use Millenium or ING bank so you can check out these.
