I wonder did they convert General Electric M-400A (double door version) between 1985 and 2001 into the LED light from 250 watt High Pressure Sodium Lamp? The answer is yes. I have seen it in Albuquerque New Mexico, and Fernley Nevada on Nevada State Route 427, as I explored Nevada as my vacation. However it does look like a cut off with a flat clear glass from the bottom, but look carefully, it has more then dozen of small square components which are LED components.

I really like the warm low kelvin glow of old street lights! So much nicer to look at in the dark.

24:05: When I was little, I always loved watching the street light outside my house start up like that. It always mesmorized me how they would start out silver before working their way to that warm amber.
To this day, street lights in general still fascinate me.

Nice looking fixture! I'm still trying to get my hands on a 1980s style M400A1.

But 150W HPS lamps are not as bright. They are brighter than 250W mercury vapor but are not as bright as a 400W. A 200W HPS lamp should be as bright as a 400w mercury vapor bulb when new.

If you visit queens they still have some up. When I stayed in Manhattan there was one they actually forgot to take down that was still working. If you visit times square there is an abandoned cooper light they left, but it doesn't work.

      Yeah!
I was born in NYC, so I remember them.
When I visited back in December 2019 and saw that they are all now LED, I was somewhat disappointed.
