Absolutely brilliant video mate!! Funny, good fishing and loved watching the insta360 x3 3D footage of the kingfish on the new Roven SPJ 👌... epic stuff cracked up hearing the old "it could be a shark" worried commentary as you've been fighting a fish for too long and don't want to overhyped it hahaha
Cheers for watching. I should use the underwater case for fish footage in the future, got a bit of moisture under the lens protector this time, lucky it dried out.
Great video mate. New subscriber here. Looking for a slow pitch outfit for jigs and 185g octopus jigs (e.g. savage gear 3D octopus). Target is Kingfish in the 70cm-1m mark. I like Oceans Legacy gear. Elementus Slow Pitch PE4 a good option?
Awesome Dave! Love your jigging content and I'm keen to give the roven a crack when they come into stock at my local store here in Coffs Just curious what reel Alton was using? It looks super nice and it's lefty which I much prefer (despite being right handed)
Thanks Jordan, I'm using a Gomexus LX50, it's my first time using it so going to give it a good test across a few trips. I think Alton is using the Maxel Hybrid
You’re lucky to get time to catch fish so smooth,we do not get it, when the fish was hooked it’s matter of seconds or else fish will come to the surface as half 😅
Hey, Dave, I would love to do some slow pitch with you and learn the trade. I was doing quite a lot of softbaiting on my yak. Hit me up if you are keen.
Hey mate, I'm a bit limited by my fishing time, feel free to msg me on insta or Facebook if you got any questions though. Otherwise Kaz from Ocean's Legacy regularly runs SPJ seminars, he's the one that taught me how to SPJ

That fish is a “pigfish” here in Australia. Great eating and the asians love it as a steaming fish..
Yes delicious fish, called pigfish in New Zealand too

Haha i agree, we took waaaay too long with this fish, was very lucky that it came up as a whole fish 🤣🤣
