Thanks for great video - full of interest. I've long been puzzled about the standard Welland Canal method of approaching locks by scraping along the dock wall - surprised that they do it, and then surprised that they don't weld beefy sacrificial strips of metal to protect the hull. They have some protection but not nearly enough IMHO. Thanks again!
Light ship, possibly bound for Sarnia to load.
It is cool to see them scrape their way along the wall like that. In case you get any more Desgagnes ships later, it's pronounced day-gan-yay!
I was getting so frustrated with myself, I even googled it, and nothing!
@@NigelHay it's like the lotto machine when you win... 'Gangez!' with a 'day' in front.
Incredible video!!
Thank you, it's a shame I couldn't pronounce the name correctly

It was interesting to hear it scrape, though the audio of the video didn't pick it up very well
Great video. Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Day-gahn-yay
I thought it was pronounced DeezGonads
Oui oui!
Nigel I can bet I saw your video about accident with your jet ski. Can't find it anymore...
