Enjoyed watching this live! It gave wonderful views, the spectacular science and engineering behind this was magnificent, and the commentaries were perfect and was easy to understand by everyone. Thank you for this beacon of light in a world of darkness right now, SpaceX and NASA, Cheers to Bob and Doug! 🚀✨
Oh man! This is all so great! I was a kid during the Gemini and Apollo launches. We had our first black and white TV one winter. TV broadcast stations normally shut off between midnight and 6 AM would start up at 4 or 5 in the morning. I was preschool and my dad would wake me in the wee hours to watch the launches with him. This kinda brings it all back with the belief such great things can be done along with the excitement. I can't wait to see Starship and Super Heavy fly. I'm an old guy now. I don't how much of this space age I'll live to see. Gonna try to hang on to see as much of it as possible. This revived interest is a good thing for me at my age. Thank You SpaceX! By the way I've heard designing the thrust structure for Super Heavy is challenging. No doubt. I have a suggestion. Build three tank sections just like being done for Starship now but make them about half the diameter. Bundle them together to make a full diameter tank section. Notice the curved triangle in the center forms a natural downcomer for fuel. You've mastered making steel tubes already, this is just a tweak of that. I think this will give you more loadbearing capacity per kilogram of steel than trying to put all the steel in the outer hull. You could tweak this design a little like still make an outer full diameter hull and make the curved outer sections of the inner tanks straight and one plate of steel out to the full diameter hull. Only the inner part of the tanks would be circular with straight plates attaching them to the outer hull. Something like that. You could keep all the tanks separate pressure vessels or cut holes in the sections between them to make one big tank. You'd have to look at the pros and cons of either. The three tubes making up the bundled sections could be continuous tubes from thrust puck to thrust puck with bulkheads and holes where and how required. I'm sure you get a lot of design suggestions so I humbly submit this one with that in mind. And I am an accredited engineer in real life. Once again, Great Work SpaceX! Keep it up! Oh please do keep it up! Let's see Starship and Supr Heavy fly this year!
I remember watching this on my phone, cooped up in my parents house during lockdown. I just graduated college and just decided I didn’t want to pursue medical school after studying pre-med for 4 years. I was depressed and felt trapped with no idea what to do with my life. This launch inspired me. I went back to school and got accepted into a masters program studying Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. I just accepted an Engineering internship for this coming Spring! My dream is to work in Space Suit Design and Engineering. This launch changed my life. Thank you SpaceX, Bob, and Doug.
Not that anyone will read this but just in case for those who are considering a career in space, I just got an opportunity to work in Space Suits. I move to Houston in a few months to start the career ive dreamed of. If I can do it, so can you.

@@Anna_Helena_Wiertinska Бешеные бабушки? Что это обозначает? Кроме того, я думаю, что к 1961 году он имел в виду низкую околоземную орбиту и делал это с капсулами вместо реальных космических кораблей. Rabid grandmothers? What does that mean? Also, I think that by 1961, he was referring to Low Earth Orbit, and doing it with capsules instead of real space ships.
Yes, I would agree with you. Although at least we are finally flying in space again, the Crew Dragon is, in many ways, a big step back from the Space Shuttles. It is merely a capsule, they were true space *ships*. But it is important to realize that we actually have four or five other manned spacecraft in development, including Starship, which will be far more advanced than the Shuttles, able to carry far more than they could, perform a wider variety of missions, and will be fully interplanetary. The future looks bright.
Our so called "modern era", will be a 2150's kid common sense. Like how we now know about gravity and all. Imagine 1800's, ppl might have been "this is tomorrows science"

Congrats on a fantastic completion of the first half of DM-2. Very much a shout out to SpaceX for bringing space flight back to front and center and great coverage.👍🚀🚀🚀👍
I have a great respect to all space companies, but if I was an astronaut, SpaceX is the only company that I would trust my life and fly with them. The amount of work, effort, tests and genius engineering is staggering. Thank you Elon Musk and all the other SpaceX employes.
How can any sane human dislike this? Oh wait, flat earthers. IT WAS ALL CGI! Am I right? In all seriousness the thing looks so futuristic on the inside. I love the touchscreens and the suits. I remember watching that new skintight suit they're working on when it was debuted on I think TED Talks. That looks impressive, and I can't wait to see that tech in action. I also love how they were picked up in a pair of Teslas. Good going. Now, back to the moon & then Mars, ASAP. I know you lot can do it. I wanna see *something* leave for Alpha Cen before I die.
Agreed on all counts, and yeah, the control console especially had me possitively giddy looking at it, it's more Scifi looking than anything other than maybe "The Expanse". I really want to build a setup based on it to mound around my monitor, with lots of buttons, toggles, and anything else that looks appropriate, should be able to get an Arduino to take it all in and act like a game controller, would be great for fun for KSP (and KSP2), elite Dangerous, and Star Citizen
The live stream had 1,4 million likes...and 36000 dislikes--clearly that latter group should be sent on a one-way trip to the Sun (and I don't mean the UK tabloid magazine)...

This is truly incredible to watch. This is my 3rd time watching the launch and beyond words to see the entire team prepping for process and Crew Dragon launch..
Science once again showing it flies you to other worlds.
In a world showing that religion flies you into buildings...
@@WilbertLek Only false religion. Most astronauts are church goers. You'll find Christianity and Judaism widely practiced and respected around NASA.
In a time like this, this warms my heart
A genuine thank you to SpaceX from all of us for giving us that little bit of joy during these Hard Times! 🚀🛰🌌
Seeing this live, feeling those chills that I felt...that’s when I knew I want to pursue aerospace engineering

@@Anna_Helena_Wiertinska
Бешеные бабушки?

Why? The ruskies did a pretty good job the past dozen years taking Americans to the ISS.

In the past years SpaceX was only a small company with Falcon 1, but now they are a big company with all this.
How can any sane human dislike this?
