    Any more details or new videos you can upload?
    We own a Fabtek and it must be replaced. We've hired a guy with a 240 and wow what a machine. Any inside on your machine 240vs260s pros and cons. Or just details about your 260 sure would be appreciated! Great video & thank you sir.

      The only real difference in a 240 vs 260 is the undercarriage and the main boom cylinder. Really liked all the storage compartments and the air compressor. I'm on a 725d timberpro with the logmax 7000xt now. The barko burnt down in the spring, the preheater shorted out and roasted everything but the head.

      The 260 was good on fuel and super stable, id run it sideways on 30° slopes. We never had any significant mechanical problems (had a valve coil go bad and a sensor on the engine) in almost 2000 hrs. It's a small thing but I sure miss the air knife on the skylight to blow off debris.

      Oh man I'm sorry to hear that! I hope barko ate some cost on that! Do you prefer your 725 for what you do over the barko? I'm sick of having no support with the Fabtek there's always something wrong with it these days. It does perform well on smaller 1st & 2nd thinnings. Thanks for getting back to me, you got some great videos! We'd only be able to afford a used machine max 300k if everything goes right the next few years so I'm begging research..

      Overall they are very similar the timberpro has a bit more power, ground speed and a 1 1/2' more reach but it uses 20% more fuel. If your doing a lot of 1st thins the 240 and 725 come in 9'4" width the 260 is like 11'2. Both have plenty of power. I'm in an overdue 2nd thin of yellow pine right now they're averaging a 26" dbh both can handle it.

      On smaller wood they dont even grunt. The barkos are a little better in tight spaces cause the boom tucks tighter.

    You mention the barko being fuel efficient in another comment. What would you say you averaged for gallons used per day? What about DEF consumption?

    • @chrisoliver292
      @chrisoliver292  2 года назад

      About 6 gal an hour fuel and 3 gallons or so of DEF per 100 gal of fuel

      @@chrisoliver292 Thanks for quick response. I process behind feller buncher with dangle head so not much tracking and would likely be even more efficient but even at 6 its about 2-2.3 gph better than my current setup. Thanks again

      I'm on a 725d timberpro now with the same head and its burning 7.1 gph but its got 125 more hp than the barko.

      Unfortunately it cost a little more than that, not quite 700k

      @@chrisoliver292 Seriously? Wow I didn't know they were that expensive. Why not go with a wheel harvester for that money? They are way nicer to run and more productive.

      @@ponsseguy True. We cut alot of bigger wood and the barko with that Logmax 7000xt will feed trees the 931 wouldn't lift off the ground let alone pull to you
