I wish musicians would go back to trying to sound like this. Innocent pure soul. Not about showman ship but about love for music and the moment. The art of sound and being humble.
This is just another beautiful example of why Phil Woods is my favorite soloist ever. Gorgeous attention to detail, wonderful melodic playing, and impeccable virtuosity. Miss him!
The great late Phil woods rip Phil Mr hat what a nice warm round tone Phil.had sad to hear we lost alto sax player.lee konizt to corona virus but his music lives on check his.olaying on miles davis birth of the cool
Dom's version is very cool, very pretty but he doesn't really push himself on this track, where as Phil really extended himself, as he always does - "my view, don't get mad"
@@RichardMoore1 I'm in complete agreement with Richard. Don's version is very lyrical and beautiful. However, there is something beyond beauty and the lyrical that Phil reaches for that is indescribable.

Magnificent solo of a classic composed by the master, Q. Jones
I just performed this song tonight with my college Jazz band I wish I would have gotten it on video...
This fine music is supposedly dedicated to the Swedish Singer Lill-Babs, may she rest in peace...!
