- This Golf Tip Is One of The Best Things You Can Do For Your Golf Swing. This AWESOME Golf Tip is a HUGE GAME CHANGER! Can you imagine adding 20 yards instantly and without any additional effort in your golf swing? This happened to me when I was taught to make this simple golf swing move - swing the "hands in".
"Hands In" is just simple golf swing code for taking the club back on a circle instead of swinging straight back and straight thru. The golf swing is a circle and provides us with plenty of power and accuracy if we know how to swing the club properly on an arc.
Tons of sports use the same philosophy of "hands in" to hit with more power - football kickers and soccer players hit the ball from an angle instead of kicking in a straight line. They realize they store much more power this way. You have more power because - imagine the hypotenuse of a triangle. The hypotenuse is the longer line. The straight baseline of the triangle is SHORTER than the hypotenuse. If you kick or hit in a straight line, you limit your distance potential because you don't cover nearly as much ground as you would swinging the hands in (on the hypotenuse).
Science aside, I think you'll enjoy swinging the golf club INWARD for tons of reasons, here are some of my favorites:
1. Frees up your body to turn meaning less stress on your body and increased golfing longevity.
2. Effortless power since you are accessing the power of the golf swing arc without having to take the club back so far. The ball is just going to explode off your clubface.
3. Easier to hit from the inside - no need to "drop the club in the slot" on the downswing because you are already "in the slot" in the backswing. Less lifting and dropping means less reliance on hand-eye coordination. More consistency for you!
4. The feeling of impact is BUTTERY AND CRISP. Before I swung this way, I didn't know I could hit the golf ball THAT clean. If you thought you hit the golf ball clean in the past, wait till you try this.
5. More distance, more accuracy, MORE FUN in your golf game!
Are you still skeptical? I was too. I decided to give it a try because I had nothing to lose. I am so glad I gave it a shot. My game turned around completely for the better when I switched to swinging the golf club this way.

I am Tom Saguto, PGA Member and founder of SagutoGolf. Thank you for visiting my instructional page where you can find how to get on the fast track to improving your golfing abilities. Whether you are a seasoned golfing veteran looking for a quick swing tune-up after an on-course emergency, or a beginner just looking to get the most out of your golfing experience, I am here to help you achieve your golfing goals.
My mission as your swing doctor is simple, to help you maximize your enjoyment in game of golf. Because, let’s face it, golf is a hard game.
My philosophy is wholly based on the student having a fun, meaningful experience in a frustrating and complicated game where potential lifelong golfers either quit because it is too difficult or that they experience some form of swing-related pain or discomfort. I mitigate these problems by focusing entirely on the student’s needs and goals while teaching a golf swing method that ultimately takes stress off of the common pain areas of the swing.

I'm very glad to know that my instruction is continuing to perform well for you, Beau, and I appreciate your kind words and support!!
Actually, this body-friendly, powerful, consistent, low-maintenance swing system is rooted in physics, geometry, and human physiology, and it is modeled on empirical observations of the game's most prolific ball strikers. As such it does not discriminate by age or ability - from kids to seniors and everyone in between, inclusive of the best players in the world.
Thanks again for your message and keep up the great work!!
Tom
I can't thank you enough for these 2 part series videos. You just gave me a life in golf I thought I'd never reach. Average 85-95 golfer and I just shot a 73 after 1 range session doing this technique.
I hear you. I’m 71 and can hit 270-280 drives. Used to be 230-240. 👍
My score stays exactly the same no matter what method I use 83to 85 every damn round
Tried this in my last round. Was overswinging to start, trying to bring "the wrath of God" with my right arm. I then focused solely on weight forward, hands in. Drives went from 220, 225, high right to 240-260, middle to left side of fairway. Wow!! Irons go high and 10, 12, 15 yards longer. Had 138 in on 16 (after a 255 yard drive, TY), pulled my stock 135, an 8I. Did what you teach and flew it 17 yards past the pin!! No release, just hit and stop. No effort. Great lesson, Tom! Thanks for sharing!
P.S. Chuck Norris, LOL!!
Your video saying you've been swinging the golf club wrong your whole life popped into my feed every day for quite a while. Finally decided to watch a few days ago.
The change was immediate and dramatic.
I've never had consistency. I didn't know if my 6 was gonna go 120 or 180.
I'm hitting all of my clubs roughly the same distance each time and with above-average distance.
Now, you might say it's only been 3 or 4 days, but I've probably hit more golf balls in the last 72 hours than I have in the past month! I just cannot get enough of how enjoyable it is.
Plan to join your web page soon because I truly am grateful.
WTWOG!
I should add that I recently eliminated tension in my hands and arms as much as possible, and this has helped, too. I just tried to murder balls for 25 years and got happy when 1 of 30 felt good.
On to the next 25!
webbdelasteve - I'm very glad you finally pulled the trigger on that annoying video that kept popping up in your feed! So...Welcome to "the dark side", where the spoils of "conventional" instruction - chronic inconsistency, physical pain, and endless frustration - yield to the fruits of effortless and body-friendly enjoyment of this great game for a lifetime. 😆
Seriously, I appreciate you sharing the success you've experienced so far, and I am thrilled to learn of the enjoyment it is bringing you!! THAT is what my instruction is really all about!!
Thanks very much for the kind comments and your support of my online school!!
Keep up the great work!

Tom. Seriously. I don’t care what you upload. Thumbs-up every time. 1) what was in your pockets? 2) grow your hair back Sampson. 3) Also bring Golfers & Golfettes back.
Hi Tom
I just wanted to say you have given me my best passion back. I am 72 years old and grew up on the load the left and weigh shift method of swinging I have had an active life picking up injuries along the way. There were times when I played on Saturday i could not walk until Wednesday. I found your website and now my handicap is back and I have no more pain. Thank You !!
That's fabulous, Stephen! I'm so happy for your newfound (pain-free) success! Thanks for sharing!
This is one of your best. Thanks for producing it.
My pleasure, James. Thanks again for your kind words and support!
Ive been working this sustem for three weeks now and im completely amazed !!!! I played 9 before work last sunday and posted -1 under for a 35 for the first time in my life!!!! On saturday i shot a solid 76 !!!!! Im gonna keep workin it!!!!! Fn amazeing!!!!👍👍👍👊👊👊
Man, I can't believe how well that I am striking the ball. Thanks and keep them coming.
Man O Man, I wish I had your enthusiasm. Your method makes lots of sense.
Thanks!!
By the way, you don't need enthusiasm to play great golf. Just dedication, a good work ethic, and proper instruction!
Cheers,
Tom
You should do a course vlog of you playing and tips on course management
Too many variables, wind, weather course layout etc.

Tom you saved my golf - Been playing since I was 8 but completely lost my way after some lethal Pro tinkering . Now back to something like my old swing but better (incredible ball striking 90% of the time ) - Your simple/Key swing thoughts are perfect so that Dark Angel doesn't visit me half way through my swing-Love your enthusiasm and willingness to keep the videos coming- hope you become the busiest teaching Pro in the States .
Great drill Tom. You’re videos are like fresh air with how you explain them and no BS just simple quick drills. Keep up the good work 👍
I am all in. I made the switch to follow your swing 3 weeks ago. I experienced significant improvement instantly. Compressing the ball is an awesome feeling. I am owning most of swing but I am having some difficulty with the extension. Would you detail the last 25% of the swing for us. I feel there is a bunch of power in there that I’m missing.
So glad I found you on RUclips,
Bob
Hi Tom, 80 year old in UK. Love your guitar playing and oh great simple golf instruction. Do you do a grip video ? Roy
I love this kid. I'm 57 now with MS for 20 years, I'm on Ocrevus infusions and it has helped me regain mobility, feeling and general zest for life. I recently played in a 4 ball charity with an old friend and the golf bug hit me. I was however disappointed that we only used a ball of mine 2 or 3 times. I found Tom's video lesson's and I must say I am amazed. I now know that my irons are going in that direction for this distance. No more picking up my ball without even getting back in the cart! Golf is fun again, LIFE is fun again. Thank You Tom
Michael - I am genuinely touched by your comment. Your story reaffirms why it is that I thoroughly enjoy doing what I do. It's all about helping people get the most out of the game they love, and - through the means of this body-friendly method - enabling them to do so for as long as they are physically able.
Thanks so much for sharing, and may God bless you!

I’m at to handicap and I never I never thought of swinging this way. I gave it a try, and I could not believe how much I was flushing every shot. I now have a power draw. Great videos!
Hi Tom, Great videos....My 9 year old daughter loves your coaching you make her laugh and she enjoys your videos... you really make my job a lot easier keep up the great work.... My daughter started playing competitive golf a year ago at the age of 8 years old and plays USGA, PGA Jr. League and our local Country Club... We started watching your videos about a month ago and have been working and training pretty much every day... with your instruction her drives went from 150 yards to over 220 plus yards, her consistency and accuracy is amazing her irons have increased by 20 yards.... she played in a club match a few months ago and her score was 102 off the ladies red tees at 4300 yards... She just played the same course a few days ago and shot a 78 +5 first 9 and +1 on the back 9 with 2 birdies... she also just shot a 31 or -5 on a USGA yardage for 9 year olds... the last time she played same match she shot a 45 or +9 and a decrease of 14 strokes... absolutely incredible.... she can't wait to start playing competitively again due to the COVID issue.... we practice at home one day then play the course the next for the last month.... Thanks for everything... we love you.... go to www.kaitlynvictoria.com Go Saguto Golf!!!

Thanks for the summary of all that you have been teaching us. I became a little lost with all the new info, but after this video, today I went out and easily played 8 shots under my normal handicap. Many thanks.
Paul, Western Australia
Haven't shared anything since the summer due to work etc but your instructions paved the way for better golf. I showed you a video of me in 36 degree heat at Holtye working on your tips. Since then , despite a third lockdown, have managed to keep my weight forward, head and height consistent, hands and arms close, not hard as I had a flat swing anyway, but the weight forward is the key, and it has paid off. Handicap is down to 2 now. Always wanted to get below 5, this has been the biggest game changer. You still need considerable practice on the short game but your instruction has been paramount from tee to green xxxxxxx
That's FANTASTIC, Dominic!! Congratulations on blowing out your handicap goal!!
Thanks for the support in sharing your success and keep up the great work!!
Cheers,
Tom
@@SagutoGolf thanks dude, just need to put the hours back into the chipping now as that used to be the strongest part of my game, needs attention now! Stay cool xxx
Confession to be made, 2.5 is the new handicap, I just got too excited when I saw the 2! However, since I followed your advice these two things happened which I'm very happy with and grateful for, a lower handicap and a scratch player of the year trophy, thanks again dude
You are a great instructor !!! Thanks for taking time to help us "wannabe great golfers"

YOU ARE THE FIRST YOU-TUBE GOLF LESSON INSTRUCTOR I'VE WATCHED. I CAN'T IMAGINE THERE BEING ANY OTHER GOLF INSTRUCTOR CHANNELS AS GOOD AS THIS.
WHEN I WAS 16 I TOOK LESSONS FROM OHIO'S PGA TEACHER OF THE YEAR. THAT WAS 26 YEARS AGO. AFTER A SUCCESSFUL HIGH SCHOOL CAREER, I'VE MAYBE PLAYED 25 ROUNDS. THIS DUE TO RAISING A FAMILY AND WORKING 70+ HOURS EVERY WEEK. (WOULDN'T CHANGE IT FOR THE WORLD.) BUT NOW I'M FAT AND SUCK AT GOLF.
TODAY WAS FIRST DAY BACK TO THE RANGE THIS YEAR. AND AFTER WATCHING SOME OF YOUR VIDEOS THROUGHOUT THE WEEK. I WOULD SAY I IMPROVED MY BALL STRIKING BY AT LEAST 70% AND THAT WAS BEFORE I SAW THIS VIDEO LESSON.
I HAVEN'T BEEN THIS EXCITED TO PLAY GOOD GOLF IN OVER A 1/4 CENTURY. DO YOU HAVE AN EMAIL ADDRESS SO I/WE CAN SEND YOU UPDATES OR MAYBE ASK A QUESTION?
THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME HOPE.

Game changing videos!! ive been playing golf for over 30 yrs with the upright chopping swing .Managed to get my handicap down to 12 at one point but i was always inconsistent. What a revelation with the left arm going in and across the chest to create a more rounded swingpath.Cheers saguto golf .Keep up the good work !!
You are the best ! The inspiration you give is nowhere to be found !
Thanks ........ keep doing what you do so well. Respectfully.
Watched many of your videos. Two things really helped my game. Pointing my right shoulder to the ball (I am lefty) and keeping my hands in front of the ball (this is stopping my wrist flipping).. Thanks so much Tom. Wish I lived near Myrtle so I could take lessons from you.
Lovely tips ever i have been told before.thanks Tom you are our true coach.
Tom
One suggestion: In many of your videos, you explain, and demonstrate beautifully, the backswing. This includes weight forward, pivoting from lead leg, inside arms, dipping lead shoulder. However, some of us still struggle a bit with the mechanics involved in the down swing, through impact, weight transfer etc.
Could you please give a little more detail, in sequence, from top of backswing through impact, especially how to dip the trail shoulder? You have helped me so much already. Thank you. Paul
You are so right Tom I hit my 7 iron between 165 to 180 straight, used to be 155 to165 I'm 67 young 150lbs and I enjoyed so much. I used to pull but no more. I'm in a hurry to hit my driver my carry was 235-240 but I'm sure it will be lot better. Thank-You! so much. Today I cheat and went to the course with this 7 iron and my all time partner a 5 handicaps and i'm a 9 was so amaze that he was telling me you will play par this year. I told him to watch your video.
Thanks for golf lessons I. Finally playing draws and overhitting greens with your lessons I had 169meter par 3 and I hit a,7irion 180meters know I have to scale down due to your golf lessons lol great woth
Well done, Vladimir! That is a HUGE 7-iron!! Thanks!
Hi Tom great video before lockdown I had some lessons I have always swung the club inside as my PGA teacher said I was too flat and wanted me to swing more outside the line like I was trying to slice the ball after my lessons hitting the ball horrendous. I am glad I found your site I worked out the only thing that I was not doing is loading the right side because I have been taught to load the right side so now swinging inside again and loading the left side. I can see I will have lots of power. 👍
Thanks for the advice body! Cheers from Italy
Thomas, you're a bad man! We can't stay in quarantine any longer because you're gonna be more machine than man when we get out. Love this swing tip.
Great video Tom. Thx. I need to master this swing. This upcoming season is the perfect time to learn this swing, especially with my new spine. I had two artificial discs put in my back last spring. M feeling pretty good now ready to golf again.
Your videos have really helped me, just recently I've discovered narrow stance has really helped me with iron contact & added length, especially get my weight to my left side, I'd always struggle & resulted in fat shots, could you do a video on narrow stance, with 7 iron I have 10"between inside of heels, I know it sounds extremely narrow but went from 140 yd 7 iron carry to 150 carry
Hi John,
Sounds like you've done a nice job taking what you've learned here and making it work for you! Well done!!
If your issue has been with fat shots - which as you note can result from not getting enough weight forward - then this video tip may help: ruclips.net/video/1OxwLLVJBLE/видео.html

Had my 2nd lesson and this is what I’m trying to get my head around.

Great video. Your videos helped me improve my game already.
Great 👌
Great job ,great insight, thank you
I like the dark spot right on your iron's sweet spot. You've got to hit a lot of golf balls there to do that.
Another good one. Good job
Nice one Tom. I love the easy swing. Been in the garden trying it out with the thought of tracing a circle round the body with the club head, feels so easy especially being a senior golfer. Any thoughts on thicker / parallel grips got arthritis problems in hand and wrists.Changing to graphite aswel.
👍❤ I'm on this train Tom !
Thumbs up man. I hit a drive today perfect but didnt feel like i fell in the slot and wondered what happened. I knew i took it back flat. Furthest drive all day 4yard draw high. . I spent rest of day sometime s finding slot sometime butchering it . topping it. Im def gonna try this. Maybe perfect cuz my left arm is not limber enough and my right elbow is hard to raise. I usually keep it very close to my body. Wow i gotta try this. I guess i did bring it back in the slot cuz it was very easy and seemed to cone back and follow thru on same line and felt very flat. I couldnt understand it. Inshudda just kept doing it darnit
Love your way of teaching Tom! Where in the US are you working from? Would love to get some lessons next time I am in the US😀

Question Tom: You talk about positioning the ball in the same relative spot in your stance for each club to improve or help with consistency. What is your take on the theory of playing with all your irons the same shaft length and lie angle (say for example have all your irons match the shaft length and lie angle of your 7 iron) to improve consistency? Probably over-rotating
@@anthonywillis7634 I was thinking that. I feel like I'm facing the target with my chest at impact. I have been trying to "let the club reach my shirt buttons" like Nicklaus used to say.

Looks great, but my question is this: won’t coming from so far inside cause more nozzle hits/shanks? I was having a shank-fest a couple years ago and had to almost start casting my hands up and out on the backswing to get rid of them. Needless to say I’m pretty much lost, especially with irons (hit driver and hybrids OK)

Tom, can you give me your assurance that this swing will not damage my back? I am a senior golfer and in practice I found your methods worked for me but I do worry that this turn could do me damage.
Hi Bob,
The Stack & Tilt swing is a very body-friendly method. For me this is supported by my personal experience as a player, and furthered by the fact that the majority of my students are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them.
Should you wish to give this swing a fair shot by learning it properly, please consider enrolling in the SagutoGolf online school. Love your videos Tom. Just out of curiosity, what club are you hitting and how far do you normally hit it? It sounds like you're smashing that ball!
Thank you Osama! I typically use a 6 iron in my videos, I love using that club!
Tom, I, like a lot of old farts (over 50) learned from watching “Jack” (either thru books or just watching his videos). Everybody knows about his high hands and the alleged “chicken wing”. My brother is a pga pro and the few times we have had a chance to work on my swing he has got me playing pretty good (he focuses on my swing staying on plane). What you are teaching, it seams like I feel in my swing from time to time, by thinking exactly what it looks like in your demonstration I.e. arms lower and more around one’s body. So, yeah, it seems like when I swing more around my body, I get way more power transfer, but it seems like it’s easier to get stuck also. I was down to a pretty legit 6.2 handicap at one time, but my golf career has been one of incredible inconsistency (like, literally one day, I’m swinging it like a good amateur and then the next day, I literally can barely hit the ball. So, my question is do guys like bubba and jack, of necessity somehow loop the club onto a lower plane on the downswing-wouldn’t they have to? Or, wouldn’t they otherwise be swinging into the ground and getting that downward glancing blow? Thanks for the awesome, awesome videos (I feel guilty cause this is big money info you are giving to us for free, and you are really funny and wildly entertaining).
The swing looks sounds and easy to follow, but unable to actually practice at the moment. Would it be possible for you to use a launch monitor, so we can see ball flight, and some data of swing speed, ball flight and shape and distances etc.
Yes, I've got one and am planning to make a video like this in the very near future :D I'll make it when I receive my order for a much better golf mat.
SagutoGolf hey Tom. I play off +4 so im not too bad a player. Do you have a trigger or feel to start the backswing. I just cant get the correct feel. Any help would be gladly appreciated cheers
@@dmkappa62 +4 and you're on RUclips looking for advice? Half of the PGA tour isn't +4. Or were you trying to say your handicap is just "4"?
Slide Technologies no its +4. But we can always improve and trust me PGA players are all better than that
@@dmkappa62 that's some great playing! I used to think the same thing, trying to find a trigger. I like the feeling of connecting my upper arms to my sides and feeling like the upper back/shoulders takes the club back. If you trace those lines like I did in the episode you'll be forced to feel it.😀
Hi I have used this swing in the past but find I cannot get height with this swing. If I need to go over trees I am screwed and have to change swings, any thoughts on ball flight with your swing?
Wow! Trying to do what you demonstrated at the range. Not making solid contact at all.
Hi Tom really like your no nonsense instruction. Using your hands behind instruction seems to give me a flattened shoulder plane. Should I worry about this or is this ok for both iron and woods? Many thanks
Love your sign LOL~ Just like selling real estate!! Good video
Tried this today , played 9 hit my first draw with a 5 wood , now I far from mastered it , after 9 but going to the range tomorrow to work on it , 👍👍
That's fabulous, Colin!! Those little "AHA!" moments can oftentimes be transformative!!
Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!!
Tom
Love it
Thanks Alan!
I noticed if you set your head like jack did at address or turn ur head right on the backswing it really helps with getting the club in the perfect spot
Tom: Can you take the hands too far inside on the takeaway? Also, in the takeaway, does the upper left arm get progressively tighter across the chest and stay tight against the chest into the downswing and finish? Thanks for all your help!
Can u tell us how to initiate downswing?
Do you find that folks going to the stack and tilt swing end up flattening the lie of their irons due to the flatter swing plane? I was 2-3* up for ever (chopping wood). Started changing my swing over last October and I'm back to neutral lie but I'm thinking about 1* down at this point. Unless I straight block it, it's difficult to move the ball to the right without a lot of effort.
Hey Tom. Been working on this swing for a couple of weeks. 2 questions. 1. Where is your ball position when hitting driver? 2. Would love to see a breakdown of the driver swing in comparison to irons. Thanks.
Ball position slightly forward of center for everything!
Tom, how about hitting off a tee, with an iron. Do we still setup 55/45?
Hello, A big greeting from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Your videos are excellent and educational for me. Now could you please do a specific one for understanding the face and always get square without having to rotate your wrists. Hardly anyone talks about it. Instructors seem to avoid the subject.
One explained under your perspective and vision, due to your previous wrong experience. No one focuses on that and doesn´t talk about that. Thank you.
Hi. Check out Sam Goulden Golf here on RUclips. He does a lot of what Tom teaches but does rely on the "square to square" method. Both of these instructors rely on body rotation as opposed to wrist rotation. Good Luck !
@@sarniasurfer thanks
Love this swing, but having an issue with toe hits. Also keep pushing the ball. I have hit some really good shots, but having trouble with some irons and the driver.
Do you have a video for ball position for the clubs?
