It was so wonderful to be back in Thailand after such a long time. This area feels like our spiritual home. 😊 Hope you enjoy this video and if so, you may like to check out our Thailand playlist! ruclips.net/video/iCQMTSusAXQ/видео.html
Hello Pocahoetaz! Yes, the Premiere was a last minute decision, and your presence was sorely missed! 🤗😃 Thailand is such an amazing country to visit! .Keep watching for more videos of delicious and incredibly affordable meals 😋😍
That is so cool to hear! Thailand was actually the first foreign country I visited after NZ & Oz, way back in 1993... and it's still one of my favourite countries, with my absolute favourite food! I filmed so many meals and slices of Thai life this time round... so it'll be a good introduction for you, Imo. I do hope you venture to South East Asia sometime soon 😃😁 ~ Mandy
Nice to see you back in Thailand. Thailand and Vietnam are 2 countries on my travel bucket list so I will be watching your videos to get frugal travelling tips. The only problem with this video was I'm watching it trying to avoid eating breakfast. The food looks delicious and so affordable 😂😂😂😂😂
I love your vlogs! Thank you for showing us that this lifestyle can last a lifetime. I really like that you are both natural in vlogging (positive/ cheery narration, adventurous taste, etc.). This episode just introduced me to another name of what we call bidet in the Phils.: butt gun, butt p!stol, and now bum gun :-) All the best to both of you. Keep healthy and safe always!!!
Thank you so much for your lovely words. We adore travelling the world and want to keep it up forever 💕 Good news is that we will be going to Philippines soon! 🎉. So excited! Will be my first time. 😍
Hello Julie! One of the main reasons we went to Thailand was the bargain flight we found from Bahrain with Kuwait Air, as we were heading back to NZ and Australia to see family. The other main reason was because 14 years was a long time to be away from the home of my favourite food! I used to go to Thailand regularly to visit friends in Nakon Sawan, so Thailand felt like a second home for years.
We always use to stay that way but not anymore, too noisy and expensive. We visited BKK in June this but stayed elsewhere but did visit Khao San rd for the day but busy and costly. Still love Thailand and there are other places in BKK that offer good value as well.
Hi there. That's great to know there are other good options. We have always gravitated towards that area. Where else in Bangkok would you suggest? Maybe it's time we sampled staying in another area. Thanks for your advice. 👍🙏
Welcome back to Thailand again. I was a scholarship student (granted by Australian govt) studying in Newcastle Uni from 1971-76. The year I arrived TV was still B/W and within 2 years color TV was introduced. It was a roaring success. Within one year of color TV debut, about 50% households had color TVs. By 1976, it was reported that color TV penetration was 100%.
Hi Mandy Hi Lee, good to see you back in Thailand, i miss it so much, i will be back in Krakow for the Xmas markets in December, do you have any plans to visit again? Cheers.
Hey there Thaibillyboy! Great to hear from you again. 👍. We love Thailand so much, we'll always be passing through here en route to somewhere else whenever we get the chance. 😊 We loved Krakow also. I bet the Xmas markets will be awesome! We'd love to visit again. Enjoy! 😍
Hi guys! Ok, I'm frugal, but I'm not sure I wouldn't go a step up...Those mattresses did not look comfortable!! Food looks amazing and I love a good hole in the wall, or alley! I'm kind of questioning how frugal I really am, but you two do it right!! Continued amazing travels!! Olà de Portugal 🇵🇹 !
Ola Tamara. Great to hear from you. 😍. We love those kind of places to stay. Ran by a lovely old couple who have been there forever. Felt like we were staying in their home. 😍. Fortunately I like a firm mattress so the budget places in Thailand suit me well. ☺️. The food is to die for as well. 😁
Hello from Cefalu, Sicily:) As Canadians travelling full-time for just over two years, I want to thank you for inspiring us:) It is wonderful to experience new places and find a different way to live; even if it is a bit uncomfortable or strange at first. I love the real food experiences you document and look forward to following your latest adventures. Cheers!
Thank you so much. It is always wonderful to hear that we have helped inspire others to travel. We hope you have many great adventures and get to see as much of the world as possible. Enjoy every moment. 😍👍
I was Googling just now to see what language you need for Thailand and it said 'Thai' but that also English was considered unofficially a second language there. Does everyone speak English? I think I'd feel more confident to go if so - becasue of not eating meat, mostly! 😆 But in case of health emergencies and things, too.
A bit of Thai is useful to know but it really doesn't matter because so many people speak English there. There is always someone around who can help you out translating. It's one of the easiest countries to travel in in Asia in that respect. Go for it Imo. You won't regret it. 👍
Lee's reaction was like mine, have to say I really do not enjoy Thai food, I can't taste it, for the heat. Fried rice was my go to food for the whole month, lol. We stayed just a 5 min walk from Khao San Rd.
When I first went to Thailand in 1993 and made friends with Thai English teachers, I was surprised to learn that some of them didn't like spicy food either. There are many non spicy dishes, from pad Thai, Tom kha gai, and the many delicious noodle soups. Just say "Mai chawp phet", ie "I don't like spicy", and the heat level should be toned down 😃😁
Hello M&L-My big mistake? Watching this video before dinner! Now I’m hungry…for Thai food of course.😅 Bad news? Closest Thai restaurant has closed so need to find another. 👎🏻 I’m with Lee. I’d think I’d order the 50/50 spice option (at best) except I wouldn’t know what their 50% is equivalent too so always some risk. 🤷 🔥 Surprised Mandy poured her drink on ice. Do you find water or ice safe to drink in Thailand? Cheers. 👋🏻
The food is so good there. It's worth risking some of the spicy dishes. I think you build up an immunity with it after a while. 😁 It's fine getting ice from the street stalls. You see the guys delivering it in huge blocks. We've never had a problem with it. We don't like buying bottled water so we use tap water and filter it with our Sawyer water filter and sterilise it with a steripen. Saves a lot of money and thousands of disposable plastic bottles. 👍😁
That's a big room for less than £10, I can't remember if you actually set a daily budget and respect it. I am about to head out however I never did a daily budget and almost always blow off my savings which restricts how long I can travel without having to come back to recharge... How do you plan your budget in each country please?
Our average daily budget is maximum $25 each per day. Obviously in some countries it's harder to stick to this so we just try to average it out by spending time in better value countries. Thailand is definitely one of those and I think in this trip it came to $11 per day each. 😊

We love finding bargains like this 😁😀
