Wonderful video and great Thai speaking - I'm impressed! I've never had the guts to try the street food in BKK as I have such a sensitive stomach. With the iced coffee I always feel a little cheated as it seems you pay more for the ice than the actual coffee. 95% ice and the remaining is thai milk tea lol. Looking forward to more Thai videos.
Thank you 🙏 I know what you mean about the coffee. You have to be careful not to drink it too quickly otherwise you are left with a cup of ice. Although you can then fill it with water and have a cold drink with you for a long time. ☺️
All looks delicious 😋 to me! You must have pretty strong digestive systems after all the travelling. I am thrilled that with common sense I avoided any digestive problems in Ethiopia. It's often not the food that can affect someone. Mandy your thai language skills are great but hasn't it been a while?
Well done for avoiding the dodgy stomach in Ethiopia. It can happen anywhere, anytime but I'm sure your stomach adapts after long periods of exposure to different bugs. Did you enjoy the injera there?
Thank you so much! I used to visit Thai friends in Nakhon Sawan, who were English teachers, so picked up some phrases then. We both love Thailand and can't wait to return 😁❤️
I’ll never learn…don’t watch a food video before lunch or dinner!! 😂😂 Wow-monster prawns for 100 Baht. 🎉🎉 How’s your experience with Dorian fruit? I’ve heard both good and bad. Our guide was supposed to offer us some but then he forgot so we missed out. 😢 C’mon Lee…that tie dye shirt and elephant pants would look great on you. 😂😂😂 I recall our daughter loved those elephant pants. 👍🏻 Cheers.
Haha 😂 Thai food videos will always get you going. 😋 I don't think we tried Durian on this trip but will feature it in our Sri Lanka video. It's quite pricey now for some reason in Thailand. We both quite like it but I do struggle with the smell. 😂 You never know.... I might buy those Thai pants next time. ☺️ Cheers, Lee
I tried jack fruit for the first time yesterday, but it was out of a tin. I Googled and it's high in protein compared to other vegetables, but not as high in protein as meat.
I absolutely love fresh jackfruit, and it's used a lot in Sri Lankan cooking... but mainly the young jackfruit, I think. Ripe jackfruit has the most amazing texture, taste, and scent 😋😃
My wife and I have planned a month in that region from early February. My question is this. How does an individual who has serious allergies to shrimp, crab and lobster manage, especially with cross contamination? Roger
Hello Roger. Thai cuisine does use a lot of fish sauce in their dishes, and I'm not sure if it would be possible to avoid seafood products all together. I am hoping a local will see your question and will be able to provide more information. There are a lot of vegetarian dishes for the monks but I'm not sure how strictly vegetarian those dishes would be. Good luck with your travel plans, and I hope you find a way to visit this incredible country. ~ Mandy
Thank you. We will actually spend two weeks in Thailand, Cambodia and Singapore prior to a two week cruise but my concern is not fish sauce necessarily but specifically shrimp and crab. I hope a local person will respond. Roger
I see 'moo' is pork. I thought it should have been 'oink'. 😆 I don't know why but it interests me that the animal sound words (moo, baa, oink etc) are different in all the languages. In Welsh speaking parts, pigs say 'soch' you know.
Haha. I had thought the same. It makes it easy to remember. I love the fact that onomatopoeic words are introduced into languages for ease of use. Thanks for teaching me a new Welsh word. Soch soch! ☺️
The best would be homecooked food. You could ensure that everything is in order but for traveling that would be a hassle and proper restaurants might be expensive. But i second your point on hygiene too
Hello Patricia. The hygiene standards are quite high, and I'm happy to report that we didn't have one dodgy stomach after 3 weeks of eating street food 😀😁

Hello Zhen! So many choices indeed, and I do struggle with choices 😀🤣
Welcome back to Thailand , enjoy and stay safe..
Thank you so much 🙏😁😃

Yes - that teeshirt would look great on Lee!
Hahhha... I'm kind of wishing I'd bought it for him for Christmas 😁🤣

My worry would be the hygiene standards from the vendors. Not for me or my stomach thanks!! 😮😮
Thailand street food’s hygiene is way lot better than India. But the variety and spiciness are so huge that your stomach may not tolerate anyway 😂
Local fruits are cheap except Durian 😅
Yes, what happened to durian?!? It's become so fashionable and so expensive! I used to have to go to Chatuchak market to buy it, but now it's for sale everywhere 😁🤣
Where is Street.. Cheap cheap..
It's just around the corner from Khao San Road.
It was ok. Not to my taste. I don't eat meat so I didn't sample too much
We are mostly veggie these days too. I struggled with the texture of injera.
Durian is liked Mamite love it or hate it.One of my favorite fruit in the whole world.
That's such a great analogy! I personally am a Vegemite eater, but yes, I love durian whereas Lee likes the taste but hates the smell 😁😃
