In this video we will cover the interior buttons and settings on the 2022 Toyota RAV4 XLE Hybrid. This electrified Toyota is not a Plug-in Hybrid vehicle, but still a very green car with 40mpg and being all-wheel drive. And it has a lot of buttons!
We will go over some of the features unique to this legendary hybrid SUV, while pointing out some of the changes and upgrades from 2021 to 2022.

Thanks for this. Bought a Rav 4 and the skinny book leaves countless things unexplained, which surprised me. Oh how I want to turn off those noises when the car sees a road sign!

Hey, the video was helpful. Thanks. I bought a new Rav4 hybrid XLE yesterday. But though the fan and AC is off, I can still feel air coming out of all the vents. So I am bit worried that why is it happening to a brand new car! If you could please help, that would be great. :)
Congrats! It’s totally normal to feel some residual air come in even with the system off. Pressing the recirculate button May help.

Thank you. When the RAV4 has audio plus or higher it may contain remote connect.
In your apps section you would see the app to initialize remote connect.

First off, thank you for your video. Just got my RAV Hybrid Monday and just watching a lot to figure it out. I'm sure it's possible, when I power off, how can I set it to only unlock my door?
Hey you’re welcome. When you shut the car off the doors should remain in whatever position they were in. When you put the car in park, all doors unlock.
You can set it to keep the doors locked when going into park. But it won’t only unlock your door. No worries because by grabbing the door handle it unlocks.

Brian, when will there be a redesign of the RAV4? The current model is a bit "masculine". The next vehicle will be for my wife. If and when the Mazda CX-5 has a Hybrid this would be my choice. I would think that it will have a Toyota Hybrid system. This is wonderful when auto companies are "helping each other out". Toyota has the best Hybrid system as well as their CVT.
We are unaware of any changes to the RAV4. It received a slight refresh this year in headlight design and wheel color. Many people appreciate this intentional aggressive style. I suspect highlander, Tacoma, 4Runner, Camry, then RAV4. But I could be wrong. I agree Toyota makes the best hybrid system.
Great video. I noticed that you dont have the A off botton( auto start stop). You dont have that feature on the vehicle? Tx
The hybrids don’t have it because they don’t actually turn off at the stops. They’re still on even if the engine is off.

The gas models have this feature because, unlike the hybrids, they actually shut off at the stop. Hybrid does not.

Brian thanks for going through everything. I have the heated steering wheel and the defrost wipers but there is still one blank spot where those buttons are I didn't hear you mention any option that uses that spot for a button you have 3 blank spots and only mentioned the two I have. Is there an option that uses that third button spot or is there just an extra spot no matter what options you have?
Thanks for watching! I believe that’s a spot for the 360 camera on the Limited but it’s been so long since I’ve seen one I don’t know for certain! The car shortage has that effect 😅

Best description of the programming of the RAV4 XLE. One minor criticism, As you get into the deeper features- you tend to speak very fast. If you can try to retape the last 1/4 of your presentation and relax - so we can pause and see how you get into those quick button changes and car settings. Again I especially appreciate your knowledge and support your helpful guidance on every button! Truly a MUST see and hear for all New owners!!

Let me tell you. I have never been so perplexed... I swear I am riding around with the brights on, but idk. People are always flashing their brights at me so I'm like do I have my brights on. I even put it on auto and the same thing. I guess I will leave it on auto and people can get their eyesight together. 🤣🤣🤣
You’ll know the brights are in when the car displays the blue brights symbol on the speedo cluster

No parking sensors in this model and mirrors do not move electronically

Awesome video . Im confused from videos that i watch if the limited has bluetooth because some vdeos show you need to connect the phone with a usb cable? And also if the speedometer can be changed to digital view rather than analog style?
Thank you. Bluetooth is standard on all new cars now. That’s wireless connection. Apple CarPlay/android auto might be what you’re thinking of, that’s the feature that’s wireless in some cars but still connected in others.

Thank you for the video, it really does help. Question I have is, when trying to change the radio one on the dial, how would I do that. In my 2018, I would hold down the one button and it would move one or two up or down the dial. Thank you in advance. Matt

@@brianruperti No Problem. If I'm on Channel One, how do I get to channel two from the steering Wheel Controls. This is not preset channels, just to move it from one random channel to another.

Great informative video as usual Brain. Is there a way to be able to go thru the channels on XM with the steering wheel buttons? In my Jeep I would set it on channel 6 for 60's then just hit a up button to go to channel 7,8,9 and up. Seems like the only thing I can do is preset channels then go up or down. Also, is adding remote start a option on a Hybrid?
Thank you! Yes you have to preset them first and then use the arrows. Yes you can add one aftermarket and almost any Toyota dealer.

Hi Brian! Thanks for this. Question: my MID is so dim that the only setting I can see is MPH. I have turned the light up all the way, and still can’t see it if it is a sunny day. Suggestion?
If you are manually turning your headlights on during the day, don’t do that. Leave the headlight on DRL or AUTO during the day. Let me know how that works out.

Amazingly, the next morning, after reading your suggestion, it was lit up brightly, and I could see everything clearly! I don’t know what I touched, but I could see! This morning, it was still backlit, but not enough to see more that the MPH…. Very dim?

Hi, if I may ask, I went to Toyota dealership to look for toyota xle hybrid, I noticed that the battery in XLE and XLE Premium are different. Could you explain what's the difference between the 2. I've been watching your videos because I am interested in getting one, I thought the main difference between xle and xle premium is the leather sit only.
That’s an interesting question I’m not sure I’ll have to look into that for you
How do you save seat settings??
When equipped (typically on XLE Premium and up) the setting buttons are on the drivers door panel. While pressing set, press the 1 or 2 button.

Hello, Only if you went up to your car while it was parked, unlocked it and walked away. Doesn’t work after you shut the car off from driving.
It’s a shame that Toyota doesn’t offer auto headlights on the LE model since 2018🤦♂️

Is there some way I can check what direction I'm going? For example, a built-in compass?
The only 2 spots it would be would be the mirror compass which is on the auto dimming mirrors (most of them) or the MID menu that shows the compass symbol
@@brianruperti I do not seem to have the mirror compass ( had that on my last car, A Sienna). However, I will look for the symbol on the MID menu. Any clue what to look for? When i put turn the engine off a lock with with the car symbol beeps ocassionally. What does that mean?
It means your alarm is active
How do I switch from Electric to gas? Cause even when the battery is low my power is coming from battery to engine!
It will do it automatically for you!
I have 2023 Rav4 XLE, when i play video song through RUclips, The volume doesn't go up it is to low. Even i play Music as well the volume is low it can not go up. it says the the volume is adjusted it. so if help me how to fix the volume . it will be greatly appreciate it.

Congrats. If you use the arrows and press the down arrow on the eco menu, you will see a tank average
