To me the 'Daytona is more of a '60's design, where as the 'Speedmaster MKII' is more of a '70's design, I have a MKII and love it for everything that it represents and stands for. Even today the MKII looks like a contemporary watch design, rather than a back catalog reissue to hark back upon/too?!
The Omega looks really cool, although I really the dial, I am not big on the case shape. The Daytona is just something special, a manual wind Daytona with a legible dial and uniqueness like no other, and it's my choice.
I like both , the Omega still looking quite contemporary despite that 70s tonneau case and the Daytona classy as usual. But the latter costs 12 to 13 times more than the former! That’s a hard pill to swallow unless you have the dosh. In that case if you were a watch enthusiast, you’d get both!
Interesting match. The Rolex is a classic look, today as well as when it was new. Reminds me of my Zodiac Sea Chron, but if I had to chose one to use in earnest where it's timing would have to be readable at a glance, the Omega would be my choice. The Omega styling is a bit qwerky but I love me some Lemania 5100. Just like an EZM 1, nicht wahr?
Love that Omege Mark2! What a beauty! Love this old skool look,,, I will for sure get one someday. How good can it get for this Mark2,,,, thank Tim for ur get review.
Great review, as usual. Nice 6263, shame that the case was over polished - the bottom right lug is as pointy as a toothpick. Not surprising on a 37mm case which doesn't have thick lugs to start with - the problem is the same on many vintage Datejust's.
We have an incredible example of an UNPOLISHED 1970s case in a Speedmaster 176.0012 on the channel right now. For the sheer novelty of an unadulterated 70s case, check it out: ruclips.net/video/XufwyzALGHw/видео.html Best, Tim
The Omega is still a nice watch but you cant compare it to the king even if the Daytona wasnt so damn popular and big $$ its way classier a watch than the MK II, the speedmaster MOTM is prob a better comparison
200% watch POOOORN, this is two great watches, im thinking they both would look as good in Marbella on the wrist or in a few hot laps at the Nurburgring in a 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 RS!!. great review as always, Thank you.
Why didn't you wind the Rolex? It bugged me that the Daytona wasn't running.
Bani Niba me too!

@@the1916companywatchreviews Just saw that. Very, very nice. Thanks Tim.
Great job with the comparison.
Take a shot every time says "redolent".
Big omega fan-but those bullnose models are pretty goofy.
Love the Omega - have 3 different, black/White, exotic dial and Gold. Rolex too expensive
Rolex daytona ss is impossible to buy at retail price.

Brain choice omega
Thats a Rolex that appeals to me but the price oh no?

Rolex! Even a non-Rolex fan can get romantic about that era Daytona. Very nice comparison. 👍
That price of that Daytona is in lottery territory.
Have a brand new Daytona - Love it also
Check out the 6263 in 14K Gold perfect Daytona @prideandpinion. Absolutely worth a look or two.
Daytona is the winner 🥇
The Rolex appears more superior like a rabbit is to a rat!
The Omega looks like a Toy
