This was my mall as a kid. I remember getting an "authentic" Nintendo Mew pokemon from a kisok as part of a promotion sometime around 1996. I bought so many star wars figures from the KB stores that used to be by what used to be Sears.
Mine too. I remember going to the Disney Store, the Warner Bros. store, the Sesame Street store, and many other stores at that mall when I was really tiny (before they were out of business, that is). Those were the good ol' days.🥺

Livingston is an upper middle class township in western Essex County, NJ, approximately 15 miles west of Newark and 25 miles west of Manhattan. Livingston Mall is not located along a major highway and it has never attracted throngs of shoppers. Most of the shoppers would come from either Essex County or nearby portions of Morris County. The mall has always been clean, there is much disposable income in the affluent surrounding area and there has not been the turnover in retailers which has plagued many malls. Given its attributes and its location Livingston Mall should continue to do well.
I attended Montclair State University nearby during the early 90's, but I never knew about this mall. I usually visited the Willowbrook Mall in Wayne, NJ.
it's crazy how dead this mall is 5 years later. my dad and i go sometimes because the lack of customers is good for mall-walking. it's a very creepy mall nowadays...
Now in 2024, stores are continuing to close down due to the lack of air conditioning. I never been to this mall, but I had coworkers/managers that would go to this mall for inventory at the Old Navy (which is now permanently closed, as of 2024), or the managers have heard things about this mall, and neither what they say were good. Stores had to be temporarily (and eventually permanently) closed down due to no A/C being an OSHA violation. They would even call this mall scary because of how dead it is now. And it’s a shame, because this mall does look beautiful, or at least it looked beautiful at one point before the massive vacancy.
I went to this mall yesterday, and this seems like 100 years ago. About 70% of the stores in this video are permanently closed. Theres no working AC. And it's a complete ghost town. I'll be surprised if this mall makes it past 2025.
crazy to see all those stores open compared to now. fye I remember going to for the first time. Was excited to go back next week and when I went back it was perm closed :(
I noticed FYE was closed, too, when me and my mom went to the Livingston Mall 2 years ago (before New Years Eve, that is) while my dad and my sister went to see Avatar: The Way of Water.☹

Victoria's Secret is that she needs to change some light bulbs.
This mall looks very close to malls in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, in particular, Chinook Mall and Market Mall! What a cool looking mall!
Yeah, when my mom and dad first moved to New Jersey years ago, it was lit!😊

like it wasn't exactly lively in 2019, but wow half of these stores are long gone.

An old Spencer Gifts sign on a modern mall. That's something you don't see everyday
wow. I only come to this mall now bc of the collectible shops in there. Seems none of those were even there at the time
This is Shimmer and Shine in Irvington, NJ from January 25, 2012.
