I did the big wheel conversion to my 4x4 slash and it is a beast. Best upgrade I could have done. It’s a great brasher and I highly recommend doing it.

I did this 8 years ago with my vxl 2wd slash on 2s but used trenchers, the body rubbed a bit but I could do somersault to backflip in one jump thanks to the added rotational mass from the large heavy tyres

Does anyone have steering problems with the bigger and wider tires? My problem is that if i steer right the left tire will rub on the arm and not letting the wheel turn freely.
@@bombpoprc2023 To start, make sure that you have the correct offset wheels for the front of the truck. You'll want to stick with the 2WD Rustler/Stampede electric front offset at all 4 corners. If you still have rubbing issues, check the alignment of your bell cranks as well as the position of your servo horn/saver with the steering trim in the neutral position. Lastly if all else fails, you can turn down the steering dual rate from the transmitter (if you have that adjustability) and this will reduce the total steering travel to prevent the rubbing.
How is your antenna so small like 2 inches long? Traxxas says under no circumstance should the wire be pulled down & tucked away, did you do that or something else? if so hows your reception.. Thnx
I've got a tqi with Bluetooth module that just shut off when I was using it and now won't turn on. The Bluetooth light works on the back of the transmitter when I press that button and the traxxas link app will even say it's connected but the green power light on the transmitter won't come on. The batteries in it when it happened were still decent and I've tried new batteries and still nothing. I've tried the standard reset using menu and set buttons but nothing there either. I've been told there's another way to reset it but I don't know how. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Charles Haynes Due to the larger tires, it’s harder for the motor to turn them. A smaller pinion will give more torque, and keep the running temp down. If you were running on flat hard surfaces, you would probably be alright.

I tried starting in the hobby with a 1/14 scale 4x4 Desert Truck, and nearly quit because of frequent problems and difficulties making repairs. Getting a basic brushed Traxxas 2WD renewed my enjoyment of the hobby, and after that I continued to progress.
RC Throwdown trust me I wouldn't cut the body for nothing I'm more worried about gears and whatever else I was told the Raptor wasn't a slash it was another model when I purchased it

You don't necessarily need different axles. The ones that come on the truck will work perfectly fine for a monster slash conversion. The only reason why someone would say to get new axles is because the bigger and heavier tires can make the stock axles more prone to breakage, especially with brushless power. But otherwise, if the stock axles haven't given you any trouble you can run with them no problem.

Very late responding to this, but if you haven't already, buy a charger that has the balance charge option. It will slowly charge each cell to the same voltage, somewhere in the middle of fully charged and almost dead. You can leave them like that for almost a year and they will be fine, also temperature where they are being kept is important too. I live in the desert so keeping them inside during summer is extremely important, extreme cold is also just as bad. This seems like common sense, and it is, but I've known some people that just leave things like this out in their garage, which is why I brought it up 😆

And the Stampede 4x4 has a shorter chassis to give it the same wheelbase as a standard 2WD Stampede. One other note: The Slash 4x4 XL-5 and VXL come standard with an HCG chassis but if you get the platinum or ultimate they come stock with an LCG chassis.
I personally love the slash 4x4 i dont really us eit to much anymore but i need to start using it because it was a fun little car it has takin a beating but traxxas makes some good stuff and i will last u i promise

I took a 12 yrs old nitro rustler and a 1/16 4x4 slash and made a true monster slash I've not seen a I'd of 4x4 slash monster trucks and monster trucks are 4x4
I did this but my brushless system was too powerful and stripped the plastic wheel hex in the rim. Did it to all 4 after a while. Traxxas please be first to make steel rims for bashers with tons of power!!!!!!
Matthew Stone word. I tried jb weld and it held for a bit but I bash hard and the weld started to crack..... I forgot to mention I locked the diff , so might be why there is so much more power to the wheels... Who knows

I did this a long time ago. If you are going to run 3S you will need to upgrade the axels. The plastic ones wont last 1 battery.

I'd recommend going with pro-line body mounts instead of the traxxas ones. The pro-line ones have much more adjustability.

I put 2.8 badlands max and trim the body got a 4x4 slash 2s lipo
So when you put bigger tires do you have to change the motor how you did
You don't have to swap out the motor system. You can put the big tires on with the stock motor. Just be sure to watch your temps.
I run mx28 badlands on my slash 4x4 sometimes. I like them more on my rustler.
On me Revo 2.0, the screws are being pulled through the body and the body is loose. Can you make a video or give me some tips on how to fix that?

They can. You’ll need to seriously modify the body or use a different body and get the 17mm wheel hub adapters.
Personally I recommend some sort of hub extensions anyway as they make the stance meaner and improve steering clearance.

You can still do that. Just get the wheels, tires, and body mounts and you can have a nice and stable LCG monster truck.

You could probably install the wheels and tires from the 1/16th scale e-revo or summit and get some different springs to raise the ride height.
