Fantastic offering, I think "ALL" of us 55 and older either owned or knew somebody who rode these early C.R. Honda's.they changed the dirtbike world for sure👍
We are so lucky to view your stunning collection of early 70s two stroke air cooled twin shockers with the valuable alloy tanks before the modern plastic era came
Finally get to see that run. I had one. My neighbors hated it. No silencer and super loud. I painted my fenders red as I thought they were supposed to be .
When I was a kid we moved to a lake in North Idaho and one of the kids in the neighborhood had one of these. I was riding a 1977 XL 125 and I'll never forget the day I threw a leg over his CR250. That thing pulled like a freight train, made my pecker stick out. God sure blessed us all with the two-stroke motorcycle. Praise God, Jesus saves! 🙏
Wow, what a sweet bike. I would have been 7 when that hit the floor. BUT, the jersey's you wear! I need to find some of those, they are some of the coolest mx jersey's Ive seen. The Honda is my fav - so far
The 1974 MT 250 was the road registrable version being equipped with head light and tail light. The 1974 CR 250 M1 Model had a more aggressive power band and performed better than the MT, as it was the racing motocross version. When I was a young lad 11,12,13 years of age I had a 1974 CR 125 M1 with FMF POWER PIPE and after market high compression cylinder head. Upgraded FMF RACING REAR SHOCKS. My friend had the 1974 MT 125. It had the up pipe but was a lot more docile in the power range. Both great classic bikes MT Built for road trail, and of course the CR Built for smokin hot racing and motocross. Basically you could refer to the MT HONDA AS A YAMAHA DT and the CR AS A YAMAHA YZ. But the year manufacturing model numbers were 1974-M1,1975-M2,1976-M3,1977-M4. And then of course the mighty CR - R MODEL Was born. God bless.
I raced one of these when I was 14, was hard holding onto it down the straight and out of the corners, I had no more pocket money to buy a good rear tyre for it so it was always going sideways even in 5th gear, 4inch of rear travel meant I always had a sore neck and back after every moto, loved it lol
Young guys and gals have no idea how good they have it with a foot of very adjustable suspension travel they have now and hydraulic clutches and electric start. They couldn't begin to ride a vintage bike aggressively without crying.
Bought a Gary Wells replica 76 cr250 it worn out replaced clutch basket and put many peices of frame together that bike would kick your ass off the back or loop out so quick fun in mud though
I had a riding buddy that bought one of those brand new. Another buddy tried to start it in converse all stars like it was his SL125... foot was in a cast next day😂
At least the CR kick lever is on the right side and the shaft is lower and primary kick. But most importantly the kick lever doesn't come to an abrupt stop on the left foot peg like on my 71 Bultaco Pursang 350, that'll make your foot hurt when it's not in the mood to crank in 2 or 3 kicks, believe me.
hi ken ,love that bike wish i could get it lol , it does have a reed valve though, check thee reeds out while you gus have it, i had the same bike, but missing a bunch of parts as a kid , i also had the mt250, that motor will fit right on a mt250, or you could swap the top/bottom end either way
I have a older friend who worked for HONDA back in the pre two stroke motocross bike days ,and the joke back then concerning their bikes was everyone else was comparing them to ELEPHANTS 🐘due to the HEAVYWEIGHT of their four strokes ...
Dude , you're showing your age by your knowledge of the bikes you show , lol 😆 just kidding around. I love the old air cooled scoots , I grew up riding Hodakas. You should get a few of those to show the viewers , I'll bet some of these young guns have never heard of them.

You love your job don't ya?
Out there "showing off" riding those old favorites.
I am so jealous! lol
Thanks man!
You're missing the "mud flaps". lol
That thing is awesome, I wouldn't even fix the tank on it, because it makes more of a survivor.

I had one of these in the late 70's and had a blast on it.

I am always curious why the manufacturers would keep switching the kickstarter, drivetrains and exhaust sides through the years,.🤔
Love that bike i won't one
Braaaap!
Sorry ken, admitting when I'm wrong, it didn't have reeds, its been 30 years,so my memory wasn't perfect lol but wanted to say I'm mistaken on that
