I bought a Anbernic RG ARC-S and I was concerned about the cheap SD card they used, so I simply copied it to my PC and to a Sandisk 128MB SD. Altrough I have minimum PC skills, it worked flawlessly, and now I have also a security backup on my harddrive for the worst case!
How different is this process for Mac?

I just got a Powkiddy x55 and it has 2 SD cards, one is a 16gb operating system and one is a 128GB games card. I understand I can't copy the OS card using this method but I'm not sure this will work with the type of card I have.

Hello, i followed every steps but my R36S console does not boot up correctly...
It is working with the card that is came with, but one i cloned it to my new SanDisk64GB SD card then it's just show the welcome screen and the boom pitch black. Any idea?
I got two sd cards with the rg35xx plus. One (in slot 1) 64 gb already in place and one external (128 gb) in the packet. Both have slightly different numbers of games.
Can you please tell me which card to clone? I have cloned the external one. If I clone the in-built 64 gb card, that came already in the slot, and use the new card, will there be any problem?

well, what to do if i have a 120 GB SD Card but want all the games to a 256 GB SD Card, when i take the image, then the Partition is only 126 GB and i cant make it larger.... :(

A QUESTION, if I add a card in the second slot, does it create the ROM directories automatically? and are they also loaded in retroarch?
If i use a bigger micro SD card the more memory is unallocated and the partition for the games is the same size as the smaller SD card. Is there any way that i could allocate the memory to the games partition?

I followed your steps. I used a 128 gb sd card. It's like following this step turned my 128 gb into a 60gb sd card.
Same here. When i write to the SD Card the diskimager transform my Samsung SD card from a 256 GB card to a 50 GB SD card and there is no space anymore!
Do you found any solution? The clone is working fine but I dont know how to use and find the 190 GB missing storage space.

@@dgcheeks Try it wit the MiniTool Partition Wizard Free. With this tool you can add the free space to the partition if its not exFat. :-)

Will this method work with the Kinhank X2 Pro Super Console?? First, it is not recommended that you copy the provided SD card from an emulation device and blindly copy it to a new SD card. The ROM and BIOS files included with these emulation devices are questionable to say the least, riddled with bad rom dumps that cause problems with performance, gameplay, crashing, data corruption etc... Your best bet will be to obtain a copy of the latest system image\firmware from the manufacturer and follow their steps to create a stable foundation before you copy over your own curated list of known good BIOS and ROM files. The process will involve formatting the SD card, using third party programs to prepare all of the different partitions and write the system image\firmware to the new SD card, and then there may be further modifications needed like editing configuration files, copying data to very specific folders, and finally copying your ROMs and BIOS files to the appropriate directories. These devices are very complex and capable of doing a lot of things, while being manufactured by relatively small companies at rock bottom prices. No, the experience isn't as easy as a plug&play TV console, but there is no realistic way to provide an easy one click solution for everyone's needs. What you decide to do with your handheld will vary from everyone else out there who buys one. There is a LOT that can be configured and changed.
I was too late..... After a week the sim card stopped working. Now I'm left with a SIM card that I can't read from. Is it possible to download ROM and BIOS that I can add on a new sim card?
Ending up happening to me. I wasted my money. I got to the step where I downloaded the bios and went to 7 zip to extract it. It won’t extract it as an ISO file and I can’t figure how to fix it.
Hello. Just wanted to say thanks for making this video. I used it a few months ago and it worked great. Tried to do it again today and it didn’t. On the first step my drive letter is set to F but when I go to format it’s set to D and it doesn’t let me switch it. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

I got sf2000 data frog. I didn't know about disk images writer.
I managed to copy all files from there to a folder on my pc. Then the cheap sd card went kaput.

So, when I went to write the created file, (which when I copied it to my laptop, the file was “G”.) the drive that my new sd card was under, was “E”.. I tried re writing it to “G”, and said it couldn’t be found. But when I tried writing it to “E” it started writing everything.. so, is that a problem lol? Because I could’ve swore the original file was “G”… sorry if this is confusing. Just curious as to if I missed something n.. and what it was I missed 🤦🏻♂️

I used a higher capacity card (256gb) when copying the image from a (64gb). Now it says I don’t have that storage capacity? So when copying do you have to use the same size SD or you lose the extra storage capability?

Does it work on my Powkiddy V90 with the custom Topo firmware tho , when i add game i see it got 2 separated file like the one with the emu and storage and the one is like booted tho .
A this be done with a sd card of 8Gb to upgrade to a 32GB ? Or will doing this make the 32GB think it’s 8gb ? Hopefully that makes sense.

I’ve done this about 4 times now and every time it keeps saying the cloned drive is corrupted or unreadable. I’m cloning a 256 gb to a 2 TB sd card and I just noticed too that the cloned is only showing as 256 gb after but showed as a 2 TB card when I formatted it before hand. Using the same software you are. Any idea what is happening here? Trying to clone my RG556 256gb card to 2 TB to add more games

@@alexisdaniel3171 no I just kinda gave up. Honestly it’s probably just as simple as copying the games themselves and then downloading the emulators from the internet separately because they have some kinda either write protection crap on their sd cards or they’re just corrupted

Sorry for writing to you. I live in Denmark, everything here is quite a bit more expensive than in other countries. I bought a xu 10 used as I can't afford a new one. now i start it up. it starts as it should. but stops working when i have selected a game. I know that I have to buy a good SD card for it. but is there a place where I can find a new emulator for it, greetings Jakob.
i think you need to format the sd card then install a fresh copy of the application for your device.

After following your instructions exactly (i used all the sane software, even named the files the same) my device won't turn on anymore and I can't find anything online about what to do to fix this. Can you please tell me what to do to fix this because now I have nothing but a worthless brick that won't turn on and won't charge, and all the data on the original SD card got wiped in the cloning process so I have no idea wtf to do now.
I followed all your instructions. The image I wrote to copy the original sd card is corrupted (I didn't do ANYTHING except wait for it to be done like you did in the video), and now I have to fly by the seat of my fucking pants to try to figure out how to set up all of this from scratch because the original sd card got wiped in the process of making the copy. Somebody please fucking help me. I'm about to smash this thing to fucking pieces because I am so frustrated. It literally came in the mail today and I listened to everybody on reddit and youtube who said to copy the original card to a new card immediately. I literally had the thing on and working for less than five minutes. Turned it off and followed all the video instructions and now this fucking things won't work and I am lost and have no idea what to do.

because simply copying and pasting is not the same as rewriting an SD card completely with the information from another and making them exactly the same

If I clone my SD card that is running onion and I use a cloned SD card in a Miyoo mini plus that is running the stock OS and I put in the cloned SD card with onion OS will that load the new OS and all the games/roms/bios/emulators from my cloned SD card?
When you clone the SD card that the console has, everything it contains also goes to your new SD card. It's like having 2 identical cards with the same information, only one is of better quality (the one you bought)

How about the tf2 card? I have the 128gb one. Is the cloning process the same?
The secondary card does not have multiple partitions like the system card, so the contents can be copy/pasted directly unless you really want to create a clone image of it. That being said, if it is a no-name secondary card that came with the device and contains ROMs and BIOS files from the device manufacturer, it it strongly recommended that you do not use any of those files because they are unreliable and many do not work (or at best, work, but have glitches, missing data, or poor performance).

I found out something pretty interesting. I have a 1TB micro SD card I wanted to clone. It still has about 500gb of free space. My PC HDD is 1 TB and still has about 600gb of free space so why the heck would disc image tell me I don’t have enough space? Turns out that if your micro SD card is 1TB the disc image software makes a complete image of the capacity of the card and not just what is saved into it. I wish this knew this from the beginning. I figured it out when I did a disc image of at 32GB micro SD with no issues. So I’m obligated to upgrade my PC HDD if I want to be able to clone 1TB SDs even if they are only using 50GB for example.
@ternocimadh5863 If your computers HDD is not a lot more than the storage you are trying to clone/copy as disc image add more storage capacity to your computer.
