That input delay is likely on the android side of things. Android is notorious for I/O latency issues. That’s why there are so few music making apps on android.
Retired FGC player, OG Sega 6 button player...I did manage to win a high stakes HD Remix tournament the year I retired. I still play FightCade with this pad from time to time and I don't find this review to really be accurate for the M30's dpad. That said, it's not the best Dpad of all time, the Xbox S Controller which no one remembers, and the PS4 both have superior dpads. This is roughly 3rd best, tied with a Saturn pad. If you're spinning for an SPD in ST, one should expect it comes out virtually every try. So that's the bottom line.
Thanks for calling this out, more than ten thousand games need a perfect dpad, from simple puzzle games like Tetris and Pac-Man to advanced fighting games like Soul Calibur, Street Fighter, Killer Instinct, and everything in between like Super Mario Brothers, Donkey Kong Country, Contra, R-Type, WCW / Def Jam type games, platformers like Celeste, Super Meat Boy and Ray-Man, just to name a few, lol. Edit: Not to mention beat-em-ups like Super Double Dragon, Final Fight 3 and TMNT Shredder's Revenge!
@@HansFGC It is hilarious too, because this gamepad you're reviewing here not only does it not have thumbsticks, but the dpad is huge, like if it's some specialized piece of equipment. Lol.
Do you have a recommendation for a controller with good dpad? I want to get one to play gba Castlevania games and the dpad on my controller makes It extra hard
I have this black controller with the wireless original Sega Genesis dongle, and use it with an Analogue MegaSG. It is great. It is the old version with the microUSB port. I decided to buy the updated newer white version with it's USB C charging port for use with a MiSTer FPGA, Steam Deck, and an Analogue Duo console. Across all devices, the dpad throwing up and down easily happens and makes things incredibly bad, you can see the input lag coming and going looking at the input tests under steam. It sometimes stays stuck holding a direction. Under steam, connected wired, it shows up as an Xbox pad, wireless with it's usb dongle, it's a 6button pad. Both connections have issues. I attempted to update the firmware on this new model, and it refuses to be detected with their firmware upgrading software tool. I easily updated an 8bitdo Neo Geo pad, but using multiple wires shipped with their products, this controller won't take updates.
I got some weird bug with this controller on 2.4 ghz dongle. Whenever I press up on the dpad for some extensive time like going around the map on sf 6 world tour, the dpad will get stuck on that input even after I stopped pressing on it. Very strange. I dunno if it is latency issue or maybe the dpad is getting sticky somehow (it doesn't feel sticky at all tho). It will just happen once in awhile so not too big a deal. The sega saturn pro controller by retro bit is alot better at being consistent with the inputs compared to 8bitdo. But the 8bitdo m30 is more solidly built imo with better clicky face buttons and quality plastic. The dpad is just iffy sometimes. I still rather use the m30 for sf 6

thanks for the juri figure review
@@greedyguts7829 you are welcome xd
It makes me retrospect when I played some sega games with that controller. I miss that day it has been 19 years ago 😥
@@brandonj894 I was only able to play that console at a friends house back then

There is nothing worse then updates that make once good products even worse..
Is it really so hard for a company to make a decent controller these days? Thanks for saving me money.
I heard there is an updated wired Xbox version out that has a better Dpad. Haven't tested it myself though

It's hard to find a good controller that just works at all times.
