Jewish Neoplatonism, good stuff. I would argue though that the Golden Dawn helped bring QBL back into the limelight through its magical teachings. Before him there was Eliphas Levi.

The think with kabbalah and letters it can't never work.
Because all of it was stolen from ancient greek philosophy and greek letters. Then try to applied to Hebrew letters. Since antient greek language is the only one that every letter create in a mathematical way language and has nothing to do with Hebrew language.. so it can't be work.
It can only work in greek language.
Even if you think you reach any reasonable conclusion it is wrong.
Every copy is wrong with the original.
Every one really study it and has a deep knowledge of it knows.
No, greeks don't stollen this from Hebrews. It is the other way around because Greeks are older in history from Jews. 200.000 years maybe. It is not possible to create the most perfect language in earth in just 3.000 years or 5.000 years.!!!
You need many many more....I m Sorry!!!
But you can never understand it. Like you never understood Greek way of thinking and way of seeing universe, God, life, living, everything. So you copy it and turn it like you wanted. What can be understood from you. Not you!!
The grate grandfathers of original jews back then. 2.000 years ago.

Thank you for the thoughtful comments, TheDimitsi.
Something to consider: Many phenomenon emerge through stages, egg, embryo, human, for example. Understanding the historic development of languages is not the same as exploring which language is more or less of a direct conduit for spiritual knowledge.
As well, the wisdom pathways we are sharing are all accessing dimensions above time. So may be more easily integrated without holding on to the past/present/future mindset.
That being said, I am curious about this approach with Greek, and happy to look into the best sources you can suggest.

      Hi again.
I will answer to this and it is very simple. But very difficult also and I can explain. And one more
I m talking about gematria and not for all kabbalah. Because I m just start read about it.
The answer to your question is read the ancient Greek philosopher Plato. Among his text's there is one with the title" kratilos"
In this dialogs Plato gives everything about antient Greek language, how it made in the pass of the centuries. Who create and how the words, How every word is made, how to find what is the meaning of every word and gives as the rouls on how to find out what is the meaning of every word if you dont know it. and many many more.
All the above and many more .... can include in a sentence in this book from Plato.
"Sofia (wisdom) is to visit each one of the greek words."
And he means that if you search greek words you can also find what represent the deep or the meaning of it or the universal lows or what any other meanings is hidden in the word. Or if you change the order of letters you will see an other word connected with.
The problem is that if you really want to understand Plato in this book you mast find a good translation in your language or better you mast know or learn ancient Greeks. If you understand that book and some others then you know and you may think that ancient greek is a language given to people by the God.
Because it's not possible man create it. Or if it's a man's job then it is so old that it tooks millions of years to reach that state of existence.
I m sorry that.. if you know greek language is base for spiritual knowledge. Because then you can read and understand philosophy and how universal lows works. The Next path if you really can understand the deep meanings of it.
But for that it is important you mast firs know Greek. Otherwise can't understand what I m talking about.
      Plato the book KRATILOS.
I hope that will help you.
So because most of the languages including Hebrew ( I m not saying it but also some Hebrews linguistic scholars) are based in Greeks or most of words are or has Greek origin I think gematria cant work for the same purpose like many said because not only in a way is copied from Pythagoras teachings and Greeks but also because nothing correct in copies. Hebrews are not set up in the same way like Greeks.
After all Hebrews and kabbalah afraid of every greek teachings, way of thinking. some kabbalah teachers for example taking about the Hebrew word Noy- beauty. backwards is Yon- Greek. For the purpose of this war against it (noy on tree of life is in the sfeare 6 i think ) the target mast be that we mast turn upside down everything greek to win them....!!!
Hebrews start it. Can you tell me why exist until now? Because you talk about not touch the past!!!
It is my opinion aftre some years of searching thinks and I m not saying its not wrong but it's a logical conclusion if you like.
But search all these if you want and find out for your self if I m correct or not. only if you wana do it.
you can also keep it like you think of it now.

While answering I also have this thought.
Kabbalah teachings and I m new in reading and searching the teachings about it but I think it hase a big problem as far i can understand and read....
      It's like this...
Since it's an old teaching and it was hidden for centuries until 1200 or it was spread not from one same book or so but was known and taught from one an other by talking teachings....... it is obvious that there was many misunderstandings and many people get it or practice in a wrong way.
also there is this last part. The one is hidden for good and only a master or very few know it after learn all the other parts. And then spread it to special people again with caution.
So it is very possible that something is missing or take of teachings or choose a different path with the original teachings all these years.
I m not saying it's bad or wrong or anything but it can lead you to wrong paths if its so confused if you learn it from wrong teacher or if you are not perfect and complete as a person. Not good or....many many other thinks or you practice it for not good purposes.
