ABOUT THE ENSEMBLE:
Camerata Pacifica is a chamber music ensemble based in Santa Barbara that performs a monthly series of concerts in Santa Barbara, Ventura, San Marino, and Zipper Hall in Downtown Los Angeles. Founded by Adrian Spence in 1990, the group is composed of the finest performers of chamber music from around the world. The ensemble is distinctive for artistic excellence, an innovative approach to classical music and a repertoire that ranges from baroque to brand new, from familiar masterworks to works that have yet to become favorites.
ABOUT THE PIECE:
Composed in the summer of 2001, And Legions Will Rise is about the power in all of us to transcend during times of tragedy and personal crisis. While I was writing it, I kept imagining one of those war scenes in blockbuster films, with masses of troops made ready before a great battle. I think we have forces like this inside of us, ready to do battle when we are at our lowest moments. The piece was written at the request of Makoto Nakura and commissioned by the Kobe Shinbun. It was premiered in October 2001 at Matsukata Hall, Kobe, Japan by Mr. Nakura, Yayoi Toda (violin), and Todd Palmer (clarinet).

Amazing. Energizing. The more music I hear by Puts the more I like him.
I used to listen to this on my full size iPod in high school 2010/2011, still coming back to it and it’s amazing as ever.
Mesmerized by the beginning, smiling by the rhythmic portion, and then cheering by the end. This is absolutely stunning.
They are all great players, but the percussionist is a badass!
Love my Van Sices...great product, and great performance
