thank you for this tutorial! btw, i just discovered something that might help anyone looking: if you've rigged a mesh in blender, then export it as a pmx file and don't see the armature in pmxeditor, what you need to do is hit 'convert model' under 'Operator' in the mmdtools tab, and THEN export it as a pmx. pmxeditor will now recognise the armature created in blender. gl everyone
When I try to create the model and put the big bone with the model, when I hit create model it makes a small bone that looks like a figure and not lined (if that makes sense) 😅
Clicked export, but the default file type name was a .blend, so I changed it to pmx. I then put it into the pmx editor and nothing shows up in the 3D view window.
@@derakino999 Make sure you've attached all parts of the mesh to model. It never hurts to click it too many times because sometimes it doesn't seem to work the first time.
@@MaeBlythe hmm..nope, still nothing but hey, i forgot to mention i'm actually trying to convert a fbx file by importing it and then following your video maybe it's because of that
I don't think so, but also I noticed more problems with the mmd_tools. Apparently the mmd_tools fileio.py line 192 and the model.py line 60 have some issues.
I think the first version of MMD_Tools that I downloaded (that really, really didn't work) allowed you to export to PMX from the export menu, but didn't have the tabs on side of the screen. It took a lot of bugging people to finally get to the link I put in my tutorial . . . I was at least 75% convinced that the powers that be didn't want anyone to make their own models :P I had to annoy a LOT of people to learn how to make ANYTHING happen!
I get that feeling. My model is ready to go, but the Add Meshes to Model isn't there. I may have found a work-around using the non-mmd tools import-export tool.

Mine doesnt even show any error it just immediately closes the export menu and returns to the scene without doing anything.
yep
Finally someone post working addon on new blender version! Thanks!
"attatch meshes to model" Isn't an option? I have the plugin installed but its just kinda not there.
I don't have attach meshes. Even if I do manage to export it nothing changed in PMX
YOU'RE MY JESUS MY SAVIOR I LOVE YOU!
I'm so glad I could help :D !!
have tryed many times time to get my blender to even see it but it wont
Doesn't work, it just throws a shitload of errors when I use it and exports a blank .pmx
you need to save the textures too in the UV editor ._.

I think you clicked the wrong export - the one you want to use is in the sidebar under the little orange/yellow stick person.
Soooo this works but how would I export my model's bones a long for the ride with it?
I can't find the plugin in my Add-on list
Does this help? learnmmd.com/Make-Your-First-Model-Using-Blender-by-Mae-Blythe/Make-a-Model-Part-2/index.html
I managed to get it to, now I just can't export any models without an error popping up.
Can you help me? I have a model and you can fix the bones and morphs please!
I use pmx editor to fix bones and morphs
OMG THANKS FOR THE TUTORIAL
what version of mmd tool did u use
when i click export absolutely nothing happens and the file is not there, why?
nevermind that, it does export, but then it loads emptyness in pmxeditor, why?

@@derakino999 Oh yeah, something in the original file might be messing with it attaching.
mmd_utilities doesn't pop up for me just mmd_tools. help?
Why are you using mmd_utilities?
@@MaeBlythe I'm not, I can't even use it. Also, Whenever I try to export to pmx, it gives me an error saying the model lacks the attribute "mmd_tools"
Did you create a new model and then attach the mesh to the model?

@@ryukiii4228 I don't think I can help because I don't understand what you're trying to do :(
Looks like I don't actually have MMD_Tools. No wonder my models break when I import or export them to PMX. (Exporting to .x works fine.)
