    I went into this blind last night for the last showing at my local theater and it absolutely floored me. Fantastic review! It was definitely one of my favorite films I’ve seen in a while.

    I don’t understand why this film hasn’t had wide release and isn’t being shouted from the rooftops. I watched it on a plane on the way to Dubai because I’m a great Phoenix fan - even thought the sound track was broken. I watched it again on the way home, even though the sound track was sill broken. The relationship between man and boy is extraordinary to watch. My admiration for Woody grew even more a couple of weeks ago when I learned that, despite his accent in the film, he’s British. Thank you for a great review.

    Hey! I ave just watched the movie and I really wanted to watch a review on RUclips, but no one did it in France. So I scrolled and landed on this video. I like the way you see this movie and how you talk about this. You give some good details and I totally agree with you. Great movie, great actors, and now I just want to think about the sense I give to my life. This is the first time I watched (or listen) the entire credits, except marvel’s. Good video and good job man !

    I was able to catch this film right before it left theaters last week and I'm so glad I went. Throughout the first act, I wasn't quite sure where we were going. But as the film went on, I was completely taken by it.

    Yes! My favorite film of the year by far! Glad to see you gave it 5 out of 5 couches! 😃 The scene where the title came in hit so hard! I teared up a bit towards the end too, which doesn’t happen very often. Another good character story I loved was “The Florida Project”. This film reminded me of it quite a bit in how it felt very much like following these characters through their lives for a period of time (my mother literally asked at the end if it was a documentary! Ha) and how they both explore adult and child relationships. The Florida Project hit me hard as well towards the end! Have you seen it? It’s a MUST see if not!!!

      Sorry but I have to disagree with you.. I'm glad you loved it but it just didn't hit me that hard and i love emotional movies. I just felt that some films just like one and Florida Project tried to be emotional but kind of fell flat. Like I honestly expected a lot more with this movie.. the dialogue often felt very repetitive.. there's just walking around.. making small talk.. yes it does feel natural but at the same time i was expecting a lot more to happen. Especially loving 20th Century Women. Watch the movie "Waves". Now that movie will give you chills in a few different ways.

      @@rupman27isback 20th Century Women was great, but C’mon C’mon was in a whole other league. The repetition is with meaning and the film felt like an echo of childhood, parenting, and life. It’s an observant film, and we’re lucky enough to take part in the observation. Perhaps it was just much different than you expected going in from 20th Century Women. Hopefully you’ll give it a second chance. 🙂

    Awesome Review Chris. Great movie. Very touching and emotional. I really enjoyed all the answers the kids say in the interview. I just thought the kid was annoying sometimes and was behaving like a 5 year old sometimes. 😒😒😒
    I'm just thinking about Arnold Schwarzenegger saying cmon to the Predator. 🤣🤣🤣

    I think this movie will "hit you" if you are a parent, or a surrogate parent, or a parent-figure or a mentor. I'm a dad, myself, by the way. Might not be easily relatable if you're single or if you're not yet thinking about having a kid. For the teens and pre-teens, I think those who would find this relatable are those kids who are deep thinkers, and sensitive but not expressive, and longing for more attention from their mom or dad.

    Everyone stop. Emergency!!! the only actor that can pull of bond is Adam driver. Forget being British Daniel Craig looks as British as my adoptive Romanian cat. The man's strong as an ox and can do anything. First time I saw him was an old law n order episode and he was so intense. Seriously he would fill that role

    Why do people said Black and White movie artsy and beautiful? I just dont get it. It put me to sleep. This, belfast, roma, mank, the artist. None of them i like, but people love thenlm

      you don’t get it do you? What makes a movie is not just the colour but the intricacies of the characters and their interactions. In this case, black and white is chosen because they both are the characters too in the movie, as the only colours seen by depression Johnny in his life.

    I'm sorry to burst your bubble but i didn't think movie was a perfect movie. It was interesting in some parts but at the same time it dragged. The parts of his father was sad and emotional but that was only in a few scenes. I felt like this movie was just too plain for me. It wasn't that engaging and didn't hit me emotionally. Also, some of the dialogue was just boring, like it felt like there really wasn't a script.. like the director just kept telling them just to make up stuff. And don't get me wrong I love realistic movies, but this just wasn't engaging in my opinion. Nothing really interesting happened as a whole. I think "20 Century Women" is his best work.

      I respect that! I didn't think it was perfect either, that's reserved for LOTR Extended Edition 😁😁. I'll have to check out 20 Century Women!

    If you can't afford color, you shouldn't be making films! But seriously, I have never seen the appeal to B&W. All these 'great B&W films' of the years past would definitely have been in color had the technology been available. Just as Avengers Endgame would have been in holographic 3D had it existed at the time (still holding out for it! 🤣)

    • @rupman27isback
      @rupman27isback 2 года назад +1

      I kind of agree. Obviously, it's an artistic choice by the filmmaker but never liked the appeal
