Just purchased. It took an hour to become proficient with this plugin although once I figured out placement and timing this software came alive with greatness. My only little nit pick with this extension is that occasionally I will forget to select the clip I want to zoom into but I'll have the playhead over it. It might be useful to have the Refresh button also select the clip under the playhead so that when you do the zoom it actually applies it to the clip.

Love this plugin, not sure if you take suggestions but having preset options for the origin and destination keyframes would be great (e.g. automatically set a EasyEase Out and an EasyEase In). Or something similar to the AEJuice CopyEase settings, where people could select from a handful of smooth keyframes. It's no doubt easier to suggest than to implement, but thought I'd mention it in any case. Love your work and thanks again for this amazing plugin (and the others, for real, so damn good).
Thanks! Sure, suggestions and feature requests are always welcome! However changing temporal interpolation of keyframes is not possible in current version of Premiere SDK. They however are promising to release a completely new SDK somewhere this or next year so it might unleash a whole new world of possibilities for what plugins can do

This is a freaking LIFE SAVER!!! Love it so much and I've only used it for 5 minutes 🙏🏻. Quick question: what's the best way to preserve high res "set to frame" scenario like the @16:16 sunrise demo, but across source clips that have been edited already? I want to stay zoomed in across a few screen-record edits but the zooms reset at the source clip boundaries. And if I nest the edits I seem to lose the hi res "set to frame" advantage you so nicely demonstrated. Any suggestions? Thanks so much and keep up the awesome work, Kamil!
Gotta send this warning via comments to other folks considering this product: its Achille's heel is its lack of any ability to edit all these applied parameters, as to value and temporal placement. Good editors (legitimate filmmakers) do this constantly, relative to other media. The interface fails to coordinate/integrate/synchronize with the actual, legit Effect Controls panel.

Looks great, BUT what if I wish to do a picture in picture and ONLY zoom in on the picture, to highlight a portion of the video, is this possible or do we have to create a new project perform the edit, export that clip, which amounts to a lot of work to produce that even with the plugin. Any help would be appreciated.

The ease in/out function behaves linearly for me despite the extra keyframes. I will continue to use linear mode and manually add the ease in/out functions, but I hope there is an update in the future to rid of these extra steps.

How do you set the zoom range from a frame to another point over a period of time? Seems like there's nothing in the extension window for this. Just the key frames and the time in seconds. Also, if I use a photograph and want to pan within that, how do I set the pan from one instance to another?

instead of zoom percentage in the middle you should have put a little dot so it gives the exact position on where the thing will zoom, i dont know why but even when i try to use the % numbers has a reference point for the middle, my zoom is always slightly off on the left or right but never centered like i want it

Hi I find if I speed ramp the clip first, this plugin does not work correctly. It only work at 100% speed clip. I can nest the clip after speed ramp, then the plugin works but then I lose quality because it is no longer a 4k clip ( 1080p timeline). What is your way walk around this?

First of all thank you, I've a question, can it adjust that box after selecting the area you want like resizing and moving the box (it's the same process when you click Ctrl+T in Photoshop to transform an object)

Hi Kamil, Came across your plugin and purchased and finding it very useful as creating scaling effects and trying to save presets of those effects was driving me insane!
I'm not sure if it's possible with the plugin to for example create a zoom and hold it for the required number of keyframes and then move it for example from one side of the screen to the other? So I don't have to zoom all the way out and back in again in order to magnify another part of the screen. So it is basically magnifying part of the screen and then panning from left to right rather than having to for example zoom in on the right side of the screen, then zoom out to 100%, then zoom back in on the left side with the same amount of magnification.
[EDIT] Nevermind, I realised that its possible to create another zoom area on the same clip and the camera will pan to that area, it just wasn't obvious to me in the beginning but I think I've got it now. Incidentally, I'm on Windws 10 and the Undo doesn't seem to be removing markers the plugins adds if I have that feature enabled so I find myself having to open the clip (or nested clip) and use the clear markers option inside Premiere. Overall great plugin, so excellent work!
I shoot in 2:1 so when im doing screen recordings in 1080p is there a way to make the default revert back to what it's manually set? So if i have to punch in manually at 125% when i hit reset to 100% will it revert back to 125% and wherever I originally placed it, or just 100% and reset the x & y?
I edit in 2:1 too and it works quite well. Here is what you can do:
You can set the 1080p clip to it’s „base” scale and nest. Then „reset to 100%” on the nest will get you back to the default view.
Or you can zoom in the source clip to it’s „base” state with scale in the „motion” effect and then REFRESH via Drag Zoom Pro. This will maintain this initiall scale and add it on the list of „recent zooms”. Then „zoom out to 100%” would not reset to the base zoom but you can click on that first entry in the list of recents which will reset to the base zoom with equal convenience. This is what I usually do.
Hey! Love the look of this - I don't know if it is possible with Premiere's API, but can it do (or can I request) some easing options for the zooms? Even if it was jut a couple of curves you could pick from.
I know you could do this is Premiere's transform effect but that control suuuuuucks!
Like I said the limitation of the API is that I can only add linear keyframes. But I can add keyframes in between to get an approximation of some other curve. I do that for the „ease in out” option and it could be done similarily for other curves. But it will still be an approximation which with a long transition may not look the smoothest
@@kamilkp Whoops, sorry, I must have missed that part! Not your fault really, Adobe just need to sort out some basic easing controls for Premiere. Which could be anywhere between next week and ten years time!
Anyway, looks super cool, I'll give a try on my next project.
Also is there a way to change the values for the "Zoom out 100%" setting? In my example I want to zoom out to a portion of the screen that is slightly zoomed in, to cut off some microsoft teams meeting elements that I don't want to see.
In this case you can create a „favorite” for that slightly cropped-in frame and use that from the left sidebar instead of the „zoom out to 100% button”

Just bought the extension, and I have to say it's amazing.
Now, I have a couple of suggestions that jumped out the second I started using it:
1- A "Reset All button". I may not be doing this correctly, but a button to reset the whole effect on a specific clip would be amazing.
2- When creating a rectangle, a way to let it go and grab it again to reposition the mouse. So, basically re-grab the rectangle. Right now, if you let go, that's it.
3- A Square option besides the rectangle (Keeping both options). The Square selector would fill the whole screen with the content of the square... the zoom % could be lower by default to avoid extreme pixelation. It's not necessary to have a rectangle the size of the Sequence exclusively.
And lastly, a question: Is the Refresh button action normally this slow? When I hit that button it takes quite a long time to refresh... Is this normal?

Thanks! I myself use it for every single of my youtube videos! I will take those suggestions into consideration but when it comes to the speed of the refresh action it all really depends on the processing power of your computer and the length of the clip and the resolution of the timeline.
@@kamilkp - Yes. I noticed. The most important suggestions would be the Reset All button and the square selection tool and the repositioning of the zoom.
The rest would be fine, but not essential.

Will it work with non-uniform scale factors? For example if I have a video that is 103%H and 100%W, will it keep the proportions when zoom in/out? If it does, I'm buying it today. Great product! Thank you!
Yes. In fact technically it always works on non-uniform scale and if the scale is uniform then the values of scale height and width are just the same per keyframe

Sire, I MUST say, essential for me to have EASE OUT ONLY on the transition interpolation, as this is my style to have an abrupt STOP after the zoom. Possible to throw it in??? (Might as well put in EASE IN ONLY as well) What do you think?
I can add it to the todo list. In the meantime I recommend to use linear keyframes and just change the ones at the beggining to ease out by hand (I have a keyboard shortcut for it)

Hey Kamil I am having problems here! I just bought the extension and installed it, but when I try to use it, it says in this version of premiere pro you have to add a transform effect to this clip first. What effect? What does that mean? If I cant get this working, I have just wasted 50 dollars!
What transform effect? The is a folder that has many effects, none of which have anything to do with zoom. And why would you have to add an effect, zoom is the effect I am trying to use. Please help!
Is it possible to make one zoom in duration for 2 seconds and the next 4 seconds or any change in one zoom in will change all zooms across?

It would be amazing if you add a feature to select the type of box we want to use while dragging like now it looks like a rectangle with longest sides on the left and right ( we now can see rectangle with longest sides above and below )
The ratio of sides in the rectangle always matches the aspect ratio of the timeline. How could it not?
