  • After a year of searching for our dream renovation project, we bought an old abandoned farmstead in the North of Italy at the beginning of 2023. It's situated in the south of the Piemonte region, where the Alps and Apennine mountains meet.

    Dear cascina couple.
    👍👌👏 Oh WOW, simply fantastic! What a great place! Congratulations for owning the farm and the land! 🎉 2) Please kindly allow me an advice: If you leave the undamaged asbestos fibre cement corrugated sheets on the warehouse roof alone, you will never have to deal with any unhealthy asbestos dust/fibres. These kind of roofs are very durable and usually don't need to be removed (if undamaged and mounted correctly). Simply don't scratch the surface a lot (for instance while cleaning from moss) and don't use a pressure washer because the fibres can be damaged. Hope I'm not already too late with this advice. I will now watch the second video.
    Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing.
    Best regards luck and health in particular. To both of you of course.

    How long ago did someone live there (oh wow 5.34 of your vid- the music that’s started to play….. it’s the same music that’s played for a video I’ve been watching on and off for about 3 years of a house for sale in France, a house where I dream of owning….. love that music, what is it ?)
    Back to your vid…. Is your house liveable or is it renovating time. ?
    Ok your vid content answered that question 🙂

    • @storiesfromthecascina
      @storiesfromthecascina  Год назад +1

      hi there! the house has been empty for about 5 years, so not that long. part of it is habitable, all of it needs renovating, some parts just more urgently than others. you should be able to find all the music credits in our video description, below the chapters 🙂

    Langhe is one of the places I love best in Italy. No wonder you chose it. You did not mention two things in my opinion: that this is one of the best places in the world for wine and food, and that the quality of life is very high. The place looks wild but I know that whatever you need in terms of commodities and services is in the vicinity. This is probably what makes Italy a good choice. Nature, quality of life, services.
    Another thing is that the sea is not very far probably, and that is certainly a plus.
    So I congratulate on your choice, even though there is quite a lot of work ahead.

      Aaah a fellow Langhe lover! ❤ You're definitely right about all of those things! It's highly likely that we'll talk about those things in future video's in a way that feels natural to us 🙂

      Editing video and sound is a learning curve for us still! We had some issues with the sound compression and we only found out after posting. Sadly we can't do anything about it anymore.

    I wanted so much to watch your video, but your background music stepped on the audio and I strained to hear. It wasn't background it was foreground primary.

      Hi there, we're working on solving the sound issue in future videos. We know it's not the same but if you still want to watch, you could turn down the volume and switch on the subtitles.
