Soki was a fictional character based on a famous Tokugawa Ogimaru the 2nd son of Tokugawa Ieyasu who became adopted son of the Regent Toyotomi Hideyoshi as part of peace negotiation between these 2 mighty clans, then his name was changed to Toyotomi Hideyasu. He was a heir candidate among many other capable adopted sons. As Regent Hideyoshi finally got a true born son, all the adopted sons were transferred to be adopted by other prominent Diamyos. Soki was transferred to Shimosa province where ruled by Yuki clan, Yuki Harutomo. Soki name was changed again from Toyotomi to Yuki Hideyasu and became the Yuki ruler after Harutomo dead. During the fateful battle of Sekigahara, his real father Ieyasu already installed his 3rd brother Hidetada as heir of the dominant Togukawa clan. Soki was a skillful field commander, Ieyasu was afraid of Soki's skills would over shadow his heir so he ordered Soki to remained stable at Shimosa and his father also suspected he would supported the Toyotomi if he was allowed to join the battle. Later, after Tokugawa won the Sekigahara battle, Soki was given a much larger Echizen province, and he was allowed to carried his father's original name Matsudaira. Matsudaira Hideyasu or Soki would continue to rule Echizen until his dead at the age of 34. He left a secret will for his son Tadanao to supported the last remaining Toyotomi force at Osaka whenever the Tokugawa attacked Osaka, but his son ignored this secret will. Matsudaira-Echizen clan is still survive until today.

History is riddled with the waves of destruction and rebirth. These waves roll onward far into the future. Much has been destroyed... many have perished.

Look at this mess; Capcom developped RE and DMC which it was out of Japan Culture, and they let down onimusha which it's full japanese, samurais ninjas and everything... Replaying the game with my brother, I really missed playing it, such a good game. I kinda want to do a Soki cosplay, specifically his Special 1 outfit, but at the moment I don't have the time or money.
I wish he can be added to the next sequel of marvel vs capcom since they have his 3d model moves ready, at least we can see how marvel (ronins) react with him such as wolverine, daredevil, ryu and silver samurai by any chance.

I play onimusha 1 warlords onimusha 2 samurai’s destiny and onimusha 3 demon siege but I haven’t play the 4th onimusha dawn of dreams but next time whatever the future holds between America and Japan there lot of things that we have in common sometimes it just like Michael Jackson once said and sing it doesn’t matter if you’re black or white asian or Mexican what matter is peace love trust friendship and honor.
