I’m happy this was helpful for you 🙂 To be fair, the flow chart programs are more robust, but you can still do a lot with just a spreadsheet. I hate spending money if I don’t have to too. Thanks!
Thank you so much; am making a flow diagram for work with key binary decisions to be made so this is excellent. Nice and simple and yet so informative. You have a gift. So nice to learn in bite-sized chunks.
Great video. I'll be honest, the thumbnail put me off clicking on this video ( I think it was the grey colour used ) but it's one of the better demo's I've seen. Many thanks.
Hi, Ian and thank you. I really appreciate your feedback. And, yes, the thumbnails are something I've been experimenting with - between you and me, I don't much like them either... 😉
Thank you so much! Do you perhaps know how you can transfer this flowchart to a new Word document? Because I have a school assignement where I HAVE to make a flowchart in Excel and then add it to a word document, but my professor needs to know I made it in Excel and not in Word. Any help? I hope I was clear 😅
Thank you for the video, really amazing, the only thing that I'm facing now is how to export it to a PDF or Image format, since the whole chart is larger than an A4 size. I have tried to save it to PDF format but only half of my chart being save.
Hi, Lucas. When you save it as a PDF from Excel, it will be saved as it would display on your Print Preview. So, in Excel, format your print area as you prefer (including any page breaks to a second page, if necessary) then save as PDF. You'll find options to format your print area in the Page Layout tab. The margins can sometimes be a bit sensitive when saving to PDF. I usually advice people to use 1" margins, but you can try smaller, just double check your PDF for anything that may have been cut off.
@@YAcostaSolutions wow.. Appreciate it. Thanks for the reply. I will try it out soon. So far what I'm doing is to select all my chart and then save it into image (right click option when selecting all charts) Thanks a lot.. Looking forward with your videos. =)
Hi. Thank you for this help. But can I know if the connector automatically connects only in excel or is there a way to enable that in word too? Because I tried it in word and it doesn’t automatically connect. I would like to draw my flowchart in word so that I can adjust my pages
Hi, Hafiz. This was tricky! If you're using Word, you need to first create a New Drawing Canvas, then insert your shapes inside the Drawing Canvas. You'll find this at the very bottom of the Insert Shapes drop-down. FYI, I tried this with existing shapes and couldn't get it to work. I found I had to insert new shapes AFTER adding the Drawing Canvas. I found this tutorial from Make Use Of that I think you'll find helpful. Note, that they begin by creating a flowchart using SmartArt, then follow that with the Drawing Canvas option. Here is the link: ruclips.net/video/iiS7aAFI2Cs/видео.html As a side note, if you're using Excel 2007 or newer, you can use the Page Layout workbook view to more easily see where your page begins and ends. I hope this helps with what you're looking for. And thanks!
Great! Thank you very much for your technique. I would like to use it as a documentation standard for our organizational processes so all can be done without leaving Excel :) It would be very useful if you could let me translate its captions to Spanish, because not all my colleagues understand English. So I could show it to them to learn.
Hi, Daniel. This is such a big compliment, thank you! I've turned on Community Contributions for this tutorial. And please let me know if you have any questions or need additional help with anything else for your project.
Hi, Ahmer, both the Excel mobile app and Excel online are free to use. You'll need to create an account to use them, which you can do for free. Just be aware that these versions of Excel have some limitations as far as how robust they are. Once you download the app, you’ll have an option to create an account. Thanks and hope this helps!
Hi, Anas. Hi, Anas. Like with org charts, Excel can be a good option for Flowcharts if you need the extra room as you don't have limitations like reaching the edge of a slide. Some people also like including them in the same workbook as other sheets they may have.
Excellent tutorial for someone that has used Excel for years but has never used it to create a flow chart. Suggest watching it all the way through.
Thanks so much! I’m happy you enjoyed this 🙂
