You explain it well, but I’m that person who would be behind in class, I still don’t understand 1s, 2s and 3s: What do the numbers (1s,2s and 3s) represent? The frames, the seconds or something else? say if I have 24 frames, and if I want to be in twos do I leave my 24 as is, double each frame to make it 48 or I have a timer to change it to two seconds?
if your animation file is set at 24 fps and your animating on twos as the name suggest the drawing would last for two frames on screen so you would actually be animating 12 fps
The number just means how many frames it’s on screen for. On 24 fps animating on two’s there would be one drawing for every two frames, and 1’s is one drawing for every single frame.
I have a question about time and frames: if i am animating on ones (24 frames per sec) and i happen to manually have to place the running time on each frame, how do i know what time i put them under, so when exacly at the 24th frame 1 sec has passed? i know this question may be way too specific but it's one of those things that i never have the answer anywhere i search.
my flash brush tool is a bit lagging at the beginning point of the strokes this slows me down on sketching the ideas at a fast pace do you mind giving me any advice on that?
Are you using a graphics tablet or a mouse? If you're using a tablet, make sure the drivers for it are up to date, or even just working atall. I had the same problems and it was due to the drivers not being properly installed.
ah gosh, I made that thumbnail from my laptop keyboard which sometimes skips out keys at random. that's so annoying. Thank you for pointing that out for me!
Fantastic explanations, I haven't finished the video yet but I already learned a lot.

Lisa Barnes you either make a copy of each frame or divide the speed by 2
Same for 3s

In our animation community, we call it double framing, triple framing etc.

Great video! Thank you :D

thanks for this video it helped me expand my vocabulary as an animator.

Ah I'm glad you think so, you're welcome!

A new video of this would be a good idea.

Great video! But I think you mispelled a word in your thumbnail... Difitions? Or did you mean definitions? Haha
