  • Hey there!
    So if anyone sees this, just for an explanation, if any of this doesn't make sense, this was half of my dissertation submission for Uni. If it feels like the pacing is weird and I kinda fly past some subjects, its because it is and I do but time limits kinda suck.
    Anyway I hope you enjoy,
    Stay safe!

    This is one of the most thoughtful looks into animation (not the art of animation, but animation itself) that I have ever seen. *Thank you.*

    Best video regarding animation out there. Finished the video expecting a high view & like count. You’re extremely underrated. Animation is the best form of storytelling, and you have conveyed that perfectly.

    That’s a beautiful way of putting it! It’s like being the god of your creation, and witnessing your creation move like a living being, I always loved seeing that in Disney films and Pixar films and the joys of watching cartoons from my childhood!

    Beautifully described, I remembered how walle the robot has just eyes but the way they made him so lovable , expressed his feelings, all the gestures .. simply incredible and brilliant.
    Animation is definitely about observing life’s movements in such details and then expressing it through art that it can leave one speechless.

    Hey, this is a pretty good video, I actually learned something new and it was fun, It just saddens me that there are probably more small channels with such an interesting content who won't get hundreds thousands views like some video essays... Still though, keep going, you're gonna get places if you keep doing vids like these

    Hey Ik this vid is two years old so you probably won’t see this but I have to do a 12 page research paper and 20 minute presentation for school, do u have any recommendations for sources surrounding animation , documentary’s , interviews, articles, books, etc? And thanks for the amazing vid super inspiring ❤

    • @Peterbyte
      @Peterbyte  Год назад

      Hey there, thank you for the kind words! So when I did my project it was mainly focused around Pixar specifically, so for books I can definitely recommend 'Creativity Inc.'. It focused a lot on the behind the scenes stuff for the first decade of their films but there was a bunch of technical stuff in there too.
      If you really want to go for the technical angle though, 'Disney Animation: The Illusion of Life' is widely considered to be the go-to for almost all western animators.
      For documentaries I remember The Pixar Story was pretty good, but again i was centering my project around Pixar
      And I haven't seen them personally, but i hear there's a pretty amazing documentary series called 10 years with Hayao Miyazaki if you're looking for some more anime stuff
      oh and interview wise, almost anything with Pete Doctor and Brad Bird were great, hope that helps :P
