Who's the MOST underrated team on my list??
Washington, Michigan, and USC!
Most overrated is OSU. Ryan Day is a good HC, but won't win with his style of defense play. I think Oregon should be 1, Michigan 2, OSU 3.

I'm a Duck fan since the 70's. I understand you're a B1G guy since Nebraska left the Big 12. For this century Oregon has earned a name. Yes, Uncle Phil has our back, but every major college football program has their major donor(s). We've had explosive QBs and running backs. Now we have a committed SEC coach, and an offensive and defensive line commensurate with him. Ohio State has to come through Eugene this year. Michigan is going to have to rebuild with a new coach and the loss of several players ty o th he NFL draft and the transfer portal. As you said, Penn State doesn't play Oregon or Ohio State this season. So if Ohio State loses in Eugene, then where are Oregon's losses?
Oregon plays a tough slate, going undefeated is hard. On paper, they should, but in reality even with an OSU win, they’ll prob drop one game 🤷🏼

Fellow Duck fan. Even if we beat OSU in October, we still have to beat Michigan on the road. They might not be the same caliber team as this championship year, but they are a team that could derail us. Also, don't sleep on a November game in Madison. We might be favored to win every game this year, but that doesn't mean we will.

Wow, 20.5k subscribers, we have come a long way my friend. I think Nebraska makes a huge step this year. We could have seen 8-10 wins last year with a solid QB and a few less injuries... Rhule has made serious talent adds with Nelson, and the WRs, and RBs. GBR ☠️☠️☠️☠️

G’job Connor, another gem of a segment, I think Rutgers could be a spoiler for a lot of teams this year. Would’ve like to seen Huskers get an experienced QB to help Raiola and Kaelin along. Hate to see a true frosh qb get baptized by fire…JMO. Believe huskers make bowl season, just worried that the injury bug could strike, seems to be the narrative for big red. Coach Campbell will get them going in the right direction as far as strength and conditioning, but we’ve seen some serious injuries lately. One last thing, big 10 is loaded with great head coaches which makes for meat grinder of a schedule. Think your correct, the days of an undefeated champion are over. Keep crushin it young man🌽🏈🌽
The good news is, every week’s a challenge and there’ll be less blowouts! Makes for a more exciting season

I say there will be two coaches possibly looking for a new jobs at season’s end: James Franklin if Penn St doesn’t make the B1G title game or at least make the playoffs, and Ryan Day if Ohio St doesn’t win the natty.
My underrated team pick is Northwestern.

I think they have 5 returners who started last year in total with their transfers, so their roster might be slightly better than TCU, but they have a new staff installing a new scheme and they move into a new conference. It’s a recipe for disaster imo and I just don’t see many wins for Fisch in year one 🤷🏼 love their outlook beyond 2024 though!

Nebraska at #8, glad to see you are optimistic. If they are in the top 25 and make it to a bowl game I'd be very happy and they would be very lucky. I dont see a freshman QB having no experience getting us to the playoffs, but it would be nice, but not realist expectations IMO.

I think Nebraska has a great shot at starting something here. But until Nebraska stops doing Nebraska things, I have to expect the worst. My heart can't take failing to meet expectations anymore...

I drank the kool aid so I think Nebraska will do better than everyone from the former B1G west. Our schedule is pretty easy overall. You can put the Huskers In Iowa's #5 spot.

Hard to say who the most underrated is, you ranked them pretty close to where I had them. The only difference we had that was massive. Was I have Iowa at 12 you have them at five. If I did have to pick it probably be Nebraska. I could see them finishing top five. As far as we go, The defense should be just as good as it’s been, so that shouldn’t be a problem. I’m more so worried about the offense as long as the defense can hold it down until the offense establishes an identity we could make it back to the playoff. But I do think I’d drop off is guaranteed.
Penn state Michigan Ohio state and Oregon will make the playoff

Washington might be your most underrated team. Even losing that much, they obviously had good coaching there so I think guys will step up and they'll be a bit better than you think. Just a guess. I know the head coach left but i mean up til now the coaching.
I’ve seen this movie before and now that they have to move into a different conference, I’m fairly certain this will not be a smooth transition haha

Of course you rank the team with the longest bowl drought in the Power 4 in the top half of the conference. Not saying Nebraska can’t be good, but we’ve only seen some good things off the field the past 7+ years, not on.
Last year we saw a huge improvement with Nebraska haha. Not only did their D that returns everyone play at an extremely high level, the offense was positioned to succeed and with the right QB, they’ll be a MUCH better unit going forward. This isn’t a ranking based on historic performance, but what teams should look like going forward 🤷🏼
I respect the list. You made me laugh saying "Kirk Ferentz is refusing to hire an OC." Definitely took their time with the hire but we got a guy who can improve things now.

UCLA isn’t in a good spot. They relied on the portal and will pay for it this year unless they have an offense that exceeds expectations

I don't think Iowa's offense has enough weapons (at WR to stretch D's) to put them at #5, their defense will be very good, I just don't see the D being able to do it "again".
I just fear that they do it every year and even though I think they’ll fail, they have a system that works. If they had a tougher schedule, I’d agree with you. They just don’t have to play many tough teams this season!

Rutgers wayyyyy underrated here. Top 8 B1G team in 2024.
As you mentioned, just about the entire defense back. B1G leading rusher is back. WR is loaded for the first time in 10 years. This is a dangerous dangerous team, I don't think it's unlikely to see them ranked at some point next season.
The issue is the QB room. Athan was average af at Minni and Wimsatt is ehhh. Nebraska had a top defense and talented players on offense, but couldn’t win because their QBs. Will Rutgers be able to overcome their QB issue or develop one into a consistent threat?
@@CornCrazed The QB room was a struggle for sure, but IMO the WR room was much much much more of an issue. We haven’t had a semi decent WR room in 10-12 years, I expect this group to be a legit threat in 2024.
Oddly enough, I think Wimsatt takes a solid step forward and beats Athan out.
All of that aside, in a time where transfers and NIL are running rampant through college football. RU hasn’t been impacted at all, I think we have one of the best LB groups in the country.
If we run the ball well and play solid defense then I expect us to be in for a very fun year. Regardless of who is playing QB.

You might be right, but for some reason Washington always tends to be surprisingly better than you'd think they'll be.
I think they have a decent roster that was developed over the last two years and this coach is gonna get ‘em back to being solid, but the schedule this year is gnarly.

Only things I disagree with is..
1. I am a life long Tampa Bay Bucs fan.. I can not stand Schiano... He ruined Josh Freeman and that Victory Formation BS he pulled got me laughed at... So when you say he is a good coach.. the F bombs were flying lol
2. I think Wisconsin falls beneath us. By schedule and Losing Braylon Allen.
3. Ryan Day may not be effing around... But losing Maserati Marv. And others to the portal. Makes me curious to see how good that offense will be. I Think we can stop the run and Polar Bear is getting some off season work in wrasling some dudes. Could make him even harder to block. My biggest concern is building this offense to allow Raiola to go pedal to the metal from day 1. Meaning as he grows we just keep giving him more and more track to tear up. Doing that by more plays more formations and more responsibility
first, it's really weird and surreal to see pac12 schools in the discussion of the big 10 season. i'm still not completely used to maryland, rutgers or nebraska being big 10 schools yet. took me a long time to get used to penn st being a big 10 program. strange days..... anyway, Ohio State is absolutely loaded. they have the pieces on both sides of the ball to make a serious run at a natty. my concern is the o-line. they make the offense go, and if they do not improve, the Buckeyes could stumble somewhere. it'll help having a mobile qb back there who isn't afraid to run, but they still need to get better. adding Chip Kelly to the equation feels like a wildcard to me. it could be an absolute home run, or it could be a case of too many cooks in the kitchen. Ohio State plays on the road at your #2 and your #3 team, and hosts your #4 team. if they can navigate that minefield, they'll head into the playoffs as a juggernaut with a ton of momentum.
Iowa will only win 3 games and in a panic hire they will hire sanders who also only had 3 wins... my hopes at least

If you would take Penn St over Oregon, you're not at all familiar with what Oregon has in 2024. Buckeyes and Ducks are up on their own tier this year.
USC is going to be soft again this year, with a barely mediocre D.

I know it was just an example, but in your 12 team playoff, you have both TX and UG. That can't happen. The top 4 are the highest rated conference champions. Both TX and UG are in the SEC. Oh, and maybe I am misinformed. I thought the 5+7 format was the platform.
That's what I thought too, but my understanding after more research is that they just add conference champions in where they are ranked in final poll. The only guarantee for the conference champions is that they get a spot in the final 12!

Wow.............just name one other who has the Cajones to make this preview this early -- Outdid yourself, Connor, but this list is well thought out, well planned, and UBER well presented - I would hard pressed to disagree with your " way to early " projections - I DO believe in J.Smith but he, like Rhule, is a builder so is more long term and solid ( Chile is the real deal ) and UCLA is a pretender not a contender........Washington will be OK with Fisch but not yet at the top this year.......Wisconsin is good as always but, for me anyway, there's a reason Ohio State didn't keep Fickell when they had the chance. 6 conference spots in playoffs, then the next 6 ranked teams. We can't get 10 teams in.
Nebraksa. Nebraska is the most under-rated team on your list. The Blackshirt defense is going to be an issue for Any team...as it's proven to be. How many games would the Huskers have won if they had an offense that just held on to the ball? And it sounds like Rhule's been working on that...The Huskers Act different, and that's dangerous for the rest of the Big 10, or for any of college football really.

If their champ is 12-1, their runner up could be a top 12 team forsure! I hear you and it might be unlikely, but Utah and Kansas have very favorable schedules + they don’t play each other. 13-0 Kansas and 12-1 Utah would both make it

If Nebraska didn’t have garbage play at QB last season Iowa doesn’t beat them. Also, Nebraska probably wins the west easily. They lost their bowl game 35-0. Iowa will not be better than Nebraska next season even though they have a much more favorable schedule
I don’t think Washington will be 14. Jedd Fisch is taking his 20 best players from his 9-3 Arizona team. A great deal of the talent didn’t leave Washington because Alabama is already so stacked. Washington has lost 23 players while the rest stayed but not all of those players were start caliber players. Washington will be better than people realize. I could easily see 8-4 minimum but that talented team could go 10-2.
I’m skeptical of Maryland since Tagovailoa won’t be their starting QB in 2024. Maryland is better than team wise than Purdue 2024 but I think like Purdue Maryland has had a QB that found ways to make them win that they will sorely miss.
Hmm I believe UW only got the CB and RB from AZ. I think they’ll still be extremely limited with returning talent since the other 20 starters are all former backups with limited playing time. I love Fisch, but I have a very hard time believing in them winning more than 7 with this schedule. We’ll see!
@@CornCrazed I only count 8 starters and the back up QB leaving on 247. But you are probably right. I haven’t considered all of the players that will probably leave when they put their name in for the draft. With that schedule it probably will be 7-5 year 1. I hope we poach some Michigan players when Harbaugh takes the job in LA.

Nebraska is decent QB play away from winning 9 games last year and if you watched their games, you would’ve seen that haha!

I understand they win , but I don't believed they won those games cause they were better , they won those games because the teams were paid to lose to Iowa.
