I saw Nightwish in the same month of this show at Live in Louder Festival, São Paulo - Brazil 2005. The last show of Tarja with Nightwish. Tarja carrer solo is very good. I saw tree shows her. Victim of Ritual, Inocence, I Walk Alone, Dead Promisses are great music, Tarja solo

actually he wasn't rubbing his nose. he was quite emotional, because it was the last concert with tarja. that is why the dvd is called "the end of an era". really beautiful version in my humble opinion

Tarja was born in 1977, Oceanborn was released in 1998. So she was 20/21. Coming from "End of An Era," this was in 2005. She was 28. Born in 1966, Marko was 39 here. This song ranks among my most favourite Nightwish numbers.

Sleeping Sun is sadly not on the "From Wishes to Eternity" DVD, which for me else is really my favorite Nightwish concert. Maybe since it was the first time ever i saw them in persona when it came out. But if you haven't already, you should react to "Swanheart" from that one, its maybe my prefered Tarja performance, especially the ending is sooo fantastic when she sings together with Emppus guitar .. just love that one so much 😍😍🤘🏼🤘🏼

Sleeping sun has two official videos. 99 and 04. Then there is her solo version with the Finnish Hillbilllies Steve n' Seagulls on their show The Seagulls nest. Where they changed it up to mix Finnish polka with Argentine Tango. Tarja's husband Marcello is from Argentina. They lived there for 10 years before deciding to move to Spain. The Argentine fans adopted her as their own.

I love Floor's version of this song, but in my opinion, this is the definitive version. Tarja is pure magic here. And while I have had the great fortune to see both Tarja and Floor live, I have never had the privilege of hearing this song played live.

Tarja is OK, but nowhere near Floor. Tarja is far too operatic to carry a song like this, and her vowel modifications are just plain ugly. The version from Masters of Rock with Floor is much better.

See why the drama? The song written for Tarja and Floor sings it similarly to honour her idol Tarja. Floor does not need defending nor does she appreciate people attacking her friend.
The song originally part of the EP. Then in 04.this version is in Once along with a new video. There are other live performances but none with Sämi he was out of the band before any more concerts were recorded.
@@Boa_Omega There was no attack. My comment was on the difference between operatic and non-operatic styles. And Floor's performance has none of the operatic style of Tarja's, although she can do it when she wants. For me, Floor's performance has more depth of feeling and conveys the emotion of the eclipse far better. Add into that Emppu's insanely tasteful solo and the job is done. Masters of Rock takes it.
