It has a scope mounted on the rifle. This rifle also reloads significantly faster than a regular Cowboy Repeater, and does not load through the loading gate (it lacks one) but through the front of the magazine tube, somewhat similar to Lincoln's Repeater. It already has one mod attached, the extended feeder magazine, although judging by the appearance of the rifle the magazine tube on La Longue Carabine is smaller than a Cowboy Repeater with an extended magazine.

Anyone playing PC look at my post review for console codes if your interested in maxing your lvl, HOWEVER i suggest not doing this till your done with everything you wanna be done with cause....it makes the game boring.

Or if you have the Abeline kid bb gun, you can just make sure your hidden and take his head off in one shot. But make sure your hidden or you won't get a critical shot and he won't die. Also everyone will turn hostile. But if you get a sneak attack critical and nobody saw your home free
karma penalty go back to the camps of the convicts kill htem that should get you back the lost karma. Took me 20 tries haha cause i stole it early in the game only 40 sneak. Used the shortcut through side of mountain there 's a small path on side going up to black mountain but don't go up go tho path on the side left of where boulders fall use it you will end up in NCR safehouse. there you go now you've skipped all those hostile mutants and deathclaws . Just dont go near tracks.
Oddly, on the topic of stealth boys, I haven't bought any and I still got like 4 from going to goodsprings to new vegas.

No. This is the closest I guess, but this is way too weak.
This is a good weapon for basic hunting and whatnot, but not the best weapon, not even close.
I like All-American and Gobi Campaign at the moment =)

Tho using console commands will turn off the achievement system. So if u use a console in any way, u wont get achievements with that character after that moment.

My videos are always made with authentic gameplay. I do use console for testing and "research", but when I make my videos, I play the game as it is.

He is a regular NCR Veteran Ranger. They appear in the game after u finish the first main faction quest (some quest after 'Ring-a-Ding-Ding').

Sell all weapons and armors u dont need, collect the caps. Pretty easy when u hunt Fiends for example, west of Strip. They have some mid value weapons.

That red highlight for enemies is a perk given to u by Boone, not ED-E.
ED-E gives u the 'Enhanced Sensors' perk.

I did that many times. I got 2 options mostly: either they stay hostile, or he wont drop the gun and you shooting his arm will eventually kill him. I got it couple of times right, but 2 out of 20 times trying it isnt very good way in my opinion..
Good choice, good choice, I always went for lockpicking, guns, and survival before anything else, on hardcore lockpicking is basically your savior. And I pre-ordered the game so I got the Vault 13 Canteen, so I didn't need to carry water around, only food and medicine. But the thing about hardcore mode is that everything has weight, which I like, made the game a whole new challenge for me, having to balance out ammo, food, meds, was really challenging!

U have to pickpocket his ammo first, then fast travel some place far and return. Then he will have the weapon in his inventory, because of the missing ammo.

You can also get it by shooting the truck and wait until it explodes and won't make you hostile and karma lost

Ik this is 7years old but here’s a trick to kill any non essential npc. Sneak behind them. If hidden power melee with a good weapon. No faction reduction or hostility

xxlastbreathxzz hell yeah dude 3 and nv are god tier. I can’t play them often cuz both discs are weird but when I do I exploit somehow. Like I do the 357 boost glitch every time 😂

Zach Gilbert just my humble opinion but luck. luck plus high luck skill plus boone's beret= huge critical bonus then use sneak attack on enemies and they should be dead instantly if you hit them including deathclaws.

Its a regular weapon.
4 option is to break the weapon by shooting it in vats then pick pocketing it. Then use a weapon repair kit . No other way was working for me so this was is the way i did it.
Please read if you grab one of the silver barrels and kick it at him it will hurt him and no one will turn hostile no joke but he will regenerate thx for reading :)
I finally got this weapons after months of figuring out how to kill corporal sterling without agroing the NCR, because pick pocketing never works for me, but I finally killed him and got the gun, although not the most durable gun in my collection, I will most certainly use it as a backup sniper rifle since it kills most enemies in 2 hits. I would use the gobi over la longue carabine, but since .308 are expensive and hard to come buy I will be using la longue carabine more than the gobi, plus it's a little bit faster than the gobi.
@Zippy19891 basically it was broken. you could rush the lincoln repeater and all the bobble heads at level 1 and be unkillable all game. fallout 3 was broken so much but overall I feel it was a better game. I just hope for a new fallout soon with the fixes from New vegas ( can't break characters have perfect everything etc etc the diff ammunition types matter etc etc overall New vegas is harder more like fallout 1 and 2 then 3 ) and the same feel of fallout 3
@blazer516 It's to the East side of the map, if you start at Helios One and go directly East, you should come across it. You might have to climb some mountains but it shouldn't be too hard to find. One thing I might mention is that as far as I can tell, Sterling and his squad will be standing in a circle and seems to stay that way, so it might be harder for you to pickpocket him.

Shoot him with a silenced weapon while hidden, if silenced AND hidden and the shot is a one hit kill, you cant get noticed
@blazer516 He might have gone to Camp Forlon Hope, cus as soon as you finish the mission to kill Driver Nephi, his entire team moves to reinforce that area.
@WilliamQuikScopedxUx are you on hardcore as I am? if so, get two anti-materiel rifles and 900 .50 rounds, give an AM to boone and about 450 .50 rounds (if you have hand load perk turn the .50 ammo into .50 Match). if you can, get a stealth boy and cloak yourself, it would take about two shots to kill one in hidden, or one shot if you have a high enough luck...
I think La Longue Carabine is vastly underrated weapon. It has a scope, good rate of fire and surprisingly good damage with Cowboy perk.. plus .357 ammo is very common.
It's no Brush Gun, sure, but it's still enough to kill most enemies with one sneak attack critical.
best way to get this gun is to get a sniper rifle with a suppessor on it ( you can buy both the gun and the suppessor from the gun runners however you might need to wait for the vendor to restock for the suppessor to be a available, should restock every 3 to 4 days )
@Orcidea when you were answering syrusstarterdeck i found that just pulling out my BB gun, shoot him once, than go into VATS when he pulls out his gun, SHOOT his GUN, not his arm. it may be in very low condition or even brake but its the safest way.

but the anti material rifle won me over when it cleared out all the deathclaws in one of the Quarry areas at a decently low level and without hassel
Goddamn, I have 85 sneak, I'm using a stealthboy (playing on Xbox 360), and I have had to load more than 20 times and still no success.
Yeah, Sterling migrated from the airport to that other base, the one constantly under seige by Legionaries, and he's just standing with the rest of his squadmates.
This is gonna get tough.
I started a new Game and i FOUND HIM! it turns out.. One of my companions killed him when i was inside camp golf... i was working for caesar So i found him thanks for the tip btw.
Another easy way is to obtain 25 sneak and possess a silenced weapon.
Then just kill him and no one will notice.
But still, my heart cannot accept me for killing an innocent man haha xD
@TheSimonSalami Problem is, Im playing the PC Version. I started a Hardcore playthrough and i dont want to cheat. And i tried stealing this rifle, approx. 56 times but kept on failing.
use a stealth boy, as said in vieo it took him 10 mins without one and he couldnt get it, either find a stealth boy (use google for help on that) or get your sneak higher

you could always take enough damage to die in VATS as far as i know
but the damage in fallout3 was reduced to 10% in VATS
not sure if Vegas has the same stat

One note should be added Corporal Sterling will be heading to camp Furlong Hope, along with the rest of 1st recon, if you collect the bounty on the fiend Driver.
I have sneack 100, you think i can pickpoket the carabine without the stealth boy? i cant find them anywhere and they are not this useless...
its actually my favourite sniper in the game
i hope they are going to make a new fallout game and i hope it will allow us to trade with any NPC to buy their unique for a high price and also to sell stuff so we can save time from having to keep moving from a place to another just to find a trader, also i feel bad after stealing a NPC unique weapon since they will end up got no weapon to protect themselves with, like this old guy NPC, he may end up moving to forgotten hope, and i don't want him run into trouble with fists b/c i stole his gun
Nice, I prefer to use sidearms as a secondary, and primaries as backups (if that made sense) and I was always into the "play realisticly" and played on hardcore mode and only carried the weapons and ammo I needed, and of course a bunch of varmint rifles to repair my primary and backup, as well as 9mm for the secondary (jury rigging perk). And also, I have noticed myself to grow into the Gobi Campaign Scout Rifle now, very great sniper!
One MUCH easier way: Wait to the time around 10 P.M. - 2 A.M. and he'll be in bed.
"Talk" to him and walk to the VERY back of Camp McCarran, away from the tents and away from everybody.
Go to the nearest corner possible, and wait for him to walk to you and for him to talk to you.
This'll take a bit of patience, btw.
Then when he talks to you, enter Sneak mode/crouch down, take out a good weapon with a high DPS and kill him.
Drag his body into the corner, take the weapon and ammo, and be happy.
Actually theres 4 ways to get it wthout killing the entire base if u hav the ratslayer whitch is quite easy to get (hardest thing is finding it lol) its basically a rlly powerful version of the varment rifle except it has a surpressor and a night scope..... Take it to camp macarren and wait till tht guy goes to sleep and weather ur detected or hidden (doesnt matter) just go into vats and aim for his head (u hav to b crouched right nxt to him) and itl kill him in about 1 shot but tag him as many
if you want to get this weapon really easy get 70 sneak and get the perk mister sandman and when corporal sterling is asleep go into sneak mode and if you have got the perk use murder that is what i done without stealthboy also crouch behind him like near the wall and try and stay hidden then click murder then you get away without being caught :) hope this helped because i aint really good at explaining lol :P give us a wee PM if you want to know more info :)
@Maggot4life9slipknot if you shoot anyone while hidden with a silenced weapon they wont turn hostil just make sure its an instant kill otherwise he will turn hostile so if possible use a moderately powerful silenced weapon so there is no chance he can survive so use like a silenced sniper rifle or a 12.7 andgun with the silencer mod and that should work try not to use the silenced pistol that uses .22 bullets because it probably wont kill him in one hit
@Maggot4life9slipknot ok im gonna run you through it. wear no clothes, it increases the chances you will get caught, stealth boy, ok now since you already pickpocketed his ammo pickpocket another gun into his inventory prefferably small so u don't get caught and give him a couple bullets that work for the gun, now go inside a building then come back out go over to him and he has now equiped the gun you gave him now SAVE now pick pocket his gun it may take a few tries hope this helped bro.
@giggidygoo17 man this game is great, fallout 3 sat on my table for 6 months cause i played it and completley despised it until i seen what you could do, let me put it like this its like leading a double life, you have your real life and your fallout life, fallout life being the imaginary life, you can do anything everything and even anybody, shoot slash kill chop what ever you can think its probably able to be done in the Fallout series, trust me get it get fallout 3 game of the year also.
the best way to get armor and weapons off of someone that you dont want to kill because you like their faction. Dynomite. if you drop dynomite then shoot the dynomite, it will explode, but you dont get exp and it doesnt count as you killing him. i know it doesnt work with frag grenades, im not sure about mines either, but it works with dynomite and early on, dynomite is abundant and people like the NCR will have better armor then you, so its really useful
he can still detect you with a stealthboy and 100 sneak. took me 3 tries to steal the ammo, and like 30 for the gun. a method that helped me was engage in dialogue with him, exit, then steal it. i got it on the first try. i also tested this on chief hanlon and little buster. both were successful attempts. i would like more to people to conform this. preferably ones with a low sneak skill
I had tried this a ton of times and it didn't work. I got the ammo, then I couldn't get the rifle without being caught. Today I tried again a few times, here's how I got it to work:
-stealth boy, stole his ammo
-later, I met him outside
-I put a Caravan Shotgun in his inventory, then took the Carabine
-After successfully stealing La Longue Carabine from Corp. Sterling, I stole the Caravan Shotgun back :D
you guys can also get him from:
1: acquire any follower
2: go to corporal sterling
3: fire your follower
4: pick pocket c4 plastic explosive in the fired follower
5: hire them back
6: bring the follower to sterling and have them wait there
7: step back and detonate the c4
8: find his body and get it off of him
NOTE: YOU WILL NOT LOOSE ANY KARMA OR UR REPUTATION WITH THE NCR.
You wouldn't believe the shit I went through to get this weapon...I accidentally got ahead of myself and the NCR sent 1st recon to Camp Forlon Hope. I finally found all five of them sitting in a corner just looking at each other. For the past two hours, I tried to do everything in 60 sneak power to get that weapon. Nothing. Then I got a magazine for sneak along with the Chinese Stealth Suit for a total of 85 sneak, along with a stealthboy. Nothing......
Guys, if you want money, find the snowglobes and take them to mr house. all together they can get you like 10,000 caps.

Honestly IDGAF about karma loss but most of what people should care about mostly is the rep with factions. I give zero fucks about the Legion, Boomers are cool, NCR are cool, Brotherhood are being douches to me, and Mr. House is in his grave right now.....(Benny ate a huge pile of shit when i found him at the Tops in his room). Hey buddy first off, you make great videos and they are extremely easy to follow. im subbing and second. i also play on PC and ive only played the game for about 35 hours, but it doesnt run anywhere as smooth as yours. Any tips on how to get it to run smoother? i close all other programs (unless its one of ur vids =) )
The way I obtain it was disarming him.
Yes it hard but what I did only took take 2 shots. I used a hunting rifle with scope, I shot him in the back in sneak mode (nearly killed him) and disarmed him, quickly grabbed his gun then put my gun up. I somehow crippled his leg and arm. But to me, it was pretty simple.
man, iv been tring to get this for an hour now, i have the ammo and already and gave him another gun with ammo but no matter how long i leave or wait he just wont equip it so when ever i try to take his rilfe i'm instantly caught, oh and i hav been using stealthboys throughout the process, just getting frusterated aha my sneak is 45 btw
@hellraiser5671 well if you killed the 3 most wanted feinds and turned in da bounty then he and the other snipers guys will be at this other base its south-east in that area and its easy to find them in the base...the base is kind of by the ceisers legen camp, i hope this helps, if not just tell meh wut ur having problems wit :3

READ! i dont know if its just me but if you do this the weapon is classed as stolen because you pickpocked it. because its classed as stolen, say you want to go to into the Tops Casino they take all your guns. you would get all YOUR weapons back but not the stolen weapons.. this happend to me with That Gun, Ranger Sequoia and la lounge carbine because i stole emm
In my opinion the easiest possible way to do this or kill anybody without getting karma penalty, bad reputatuions, or people turning hostile, is to use anti-material rifle inc. its a glitch i found just go in vats and target someone but dont fire at them and they just catch and fire and keep doing it and they die, but if you downloaded any patches it wont work.
I love this gun for four reasons:
1st: It looks ALOT like the Russian 1895 Winchester musket
2nd: The scope crosshairs are SOOOO much less annoying than the obnoxious one for the sniper rifle, anti-materiel rifle, and marksman carbine.
3rd: Easy to find, cheap ammo
And 4th:... I loves blowin' up heads wiff it :3
@xenophobe76 Ahh, i checked it out, it does. BTW the best way to start your char is with all your stats +5 and your int +10, you can always get transplants from that girl in new vegas clinic. Idk your play style that well, but i feel it's easyer to start with eveyrthing even and my int up to ten for maximum skill points, not to mention the educated perk.
