Fun video to watch, excellent way to get youngsters in the act of creating and making. Thanks for posting and sharing. It's a brilliant, fun and exciting way to introducing and building confidence for youngsters. They start to build knowledge to start creating and making their own ideas. Thanks again, regards and all the best to you and yours. Subscribed and hit the like button. Tony.
Thank you. I love getting my kids in the shop, wish they did it more often, but hopefully building a base so they can be self sufficient as they get older
I’m curious to know how well the hot glue held up over time. I’m making one this weekend and would like to know if I need to tack the ribbons down. Thank you.
I would highly recommend tacking the ribbon down with staples. The glue held for a while, but eventually the blocks started falling off... luckily the pace at which my daughter's interest faded was faster than the blocks falling off
Really cool. We didn't have those back when I was a kid (you know back when dirt was invented.) I think I'll try one for myself. Your how-to wasn't very clear, where can I get some step-by-step for this ? Really great to have your kids in the shop.
Nicely done project. I enjoyed the process and I applaud you for bringing your daughter into the shop and introducing her to woodworking. One small note about video production though....You might want to try and increase the volume of your voice and decrease the volume of the background music. I had a hard time hearing you throughout this video. (just some constructive criticism, that's all). Keep up the great work.
Thanks for watching! This was an earlier video, and the volume was much less than ideal. Hopefully some of my more recent videos are a little easier to understand. I love getting my kids into the shop, and they really enjoy vacuuming up word shavings 👍
As I too have had to learn as the parent, the child wants to be included in the process not just fixture. I had to learn this when my children were doing projects for "their " school exhibitions at the ACE STUDENT CONVENTIONS. Yes I was their to keep them from destroying the shop or killing themselves. But to watch two 15 year olds build a 20 step Tube Goldberg Device was impressive to say the least.
Yes your correct I didn't catch the auto correct on that Thank You. The RUBE GOLDBERG machine they made, took 10 steps to drop a steely ball onto an unknown and click the button and tilt it topside up ready to use.
Music volune goes high then low when you talk so lm sorry l couldnt listen unless l altered the volume through out. I meen this with respect and to help. Alan.
I have to agree with the previous comments ,otherwise an excellent vid such a pity about the back ground noise (music) why oh why do Americans think you have to have noise in an instructional Video
Thanks for watching it. I wish I had the original footage so I could process it with less music. I'm also trying to find a decent mix to do voiceovers, instead of just text.
Just bought one for my 10 year old daughter. I told her this is an antique fidget. She is amazed.

The best thing is that you made a toy for your daughter, and you made it together with her. Chapeau.
That was my favorite part too :)
What a small and understandable technique!
I had one of these as a child! Thanks for making a diy video!
Very nice video and explained well. Im going to get my daughter involved and we can make one as well.
Thanks for watching! love to hear people bringing their kids into the workshop! I'd love to see how it turns out!
Just found out these exist today, pretty amazing little toy!
I had never heard of them before my daughter asked for it, pretty cool little toy

I apologize for the poor sound quality. My daughter came home from school so I made her do some research on how to thread the strings.

I was looking for that Toy for 2 years thankssss 😄
I'm glad I could be helpful! Thanks for watching
Interesting toy!
I had never seen one before, apparently my daughter's teacher brought one in to school and she had to know how to make one.
I have one of these that I got somewhere about 15 years ago or so.
good dad
Nice project. Make the vocal volume the same level as the music. The credits should roll by at an even pace.
I liked this toy from wood !
Great job...
Thank you
A good idea, but too often your arms or hands hide the work in progress. Music too strong, you can not hear your comments! thanks for sharing :)
good job but next time lower the music volume a bit because we cant hear your voice!

Very hard to hear, turn it up then the music blows my ear drums out in my ear buds. 🙉
Fun project tho 👍👍
My apologies for the sound quality
Now put a chewing gum wrapper between the two ribbons on the side and see what happens. 😉
I will have to give it a try, is it like playing cards in the spokes of a bike tire :)
Maple-Crossing Woodworks Not quite. It does make for and interesting migration of the wrapper though.
I have 1!!

We don't need to know what kind of music you like, we need to hear what you're SAYING! Either turn off the music or stop mumbling.
