i genuinely like cookie run. every fandom is toxic and has issues. oc x canon is ok and so is canon x canon! it has its issues but its just not a horrible toxic place. you gotta enjoy it and have fun. i had a similar interaction with south park au creators. except they used me being autistic as a reason to block me. kinda sucked ya. but every fandom is good in its own way. ya anyways sugarteara is good
Yeah I totally agree! People have such a negative view of blocking others, but I think it’s a great tool! If you don’t want to see someone’s content, isn’t better to stop seeing that stuff as opposed to continuing to view content that makes you feel uncomfortable? I've only been in the fandom for nearly a year and a half now and while I haven't partaken in any of the drama, I've seen the type of things the toxic people go on about and it's honestly...so tiring. The only thing I've seen people argue over are Milk Cookie and recently Goblin Cookie. I won't say what they're arguing over as I don't wanna start any drama but it's honestly exhausting seeing people getting so heated over pieces of sentient dough.
I left the fandom. The server is super toxic. One person said an artist from Korea was "racist" and then said "All Koreans are white". I was called "racist" for liking a fanart piece. The shipping drama and people fetishizing characters who are minors are super creepy.
Speaking of the fandom going berserk over small things: I became particularly traumatized when last year, they released a Yogurca update with some "questionable design choices" and suddenly the fanbase wanted the entire game shut down. I felt like I was held at gunpoint by the Internet for liking Cookie Run and anything resambling the Arabian Nights. I mean, I do understand the thing with bombs perfectly and why it offends muslims/arabs but then there are people who assume an author is hurting/insulting Islam as a whole just for causually adding a magic lamp or a flying carpet and don't explain why (in other words "this harmless thing it's racist because yes and nothing more") It's just confusing, specially when the fanbase's comments sound less like actual criticism and more like little kids mindlessly throwing temper tantrums. 😖
I’m part of the fandom myself but I have to agree with your points from what I’ve heard. The CROB fans I surround myself with are actually really nice, but the people outside that bubble... well, yeah. They can sometimes be a bit overdramatic. Maybe more than a bit, actually. In most fandoms, I’m extremely careful with shipping, to be sure not to fall into any bad ships. That actually comes in VERY handy, surprisingly. I actually remember a situation where people shipped Pitaya X Ananas. I didn’t complain, I just said “I don’t like that ship too much, I’m chill with it though, so carry on.” Sometimes I wish people would try to be at least a litttle civil...

Honestly I don't have a favorite ship for myself but I appreciate every ship that is there. I got some hate for thinking like this on Twitter and made a new account afterwards. Even on Reddit I wasn't save, which was weird because I don't have similar user names so I wonder how they knew who I was. This fandom can be nice sometimes but the toxicity can reach insane levels. I just stopped talking about my opinions on most social media accounts.

As someone who's been in the fandom for a long while now, I'm also just going to share my experience because why not? Back in September of last year, my brother introduced me to CRK. I slowly got hooked into the game and eventually downloaded Ovenbreak a month later. Around the same time, I decided to engage with the fandom expecting some chill and welcoming people but got...quite the opposite. I keep seeing ANGRY commenters on Pinterest harassing mostly ASIAN artists for drawing a cookie's skin paler, going as far as to edit their works without permission. Mind you---I've never been exposed to any mainstream communities after this, so it was a shocker that this wasn't the kind of community I expected. However, the toxicity on that site seemed to die down and I managed to build my own safe bubble with chill fans. I thought the CRK hype has since died down and the Cookie Run fandom is back into shape with how many familiar faces have been quitting the game. I was really sad to see a lot of RUclipsrs go but I still stuck onto the belief that "less members = chiller fandom" so I had a lot of hope in me. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case. Just recently, I downloaded Tiktok. My brother kept sharing some funny videos to me (not CR related tho) so I finally decided to try. Prior to this moment I've seen people warn about how haywire the CR fans are on that site, but I didn't mind since I thought building a safe space in there was also easy. As it turns out, I was wrong. So many toxic shippers, children with the most ridiculous opinions, and the OG upload of the Daycare theme remix gaining tons of hate from outsiders proved how downhill this little cookie game's reputation has gone. I wish I could turn back time and start CR earlier so I can experience engaging with its more wholesome side. Even better, I wish Timekeeper Cookie would take me to a timeline where Cookie Run gained *some* popularity but has the same rep as Omori, at least that fandom knows how to get its shit together. For now, I'm veering away from the more..."mainstreamy" side of the community and focus on the "safe bubble" I made by myself. This is the first time I joined a chaotic sludge since 2018 so it's hard for me to adjust. I'm also checking back on Omori every now and then for eye bleach, and I'm NEVER going back to the Tiktok community or diving deep into Twitter because both of them are just...bleh.

Man this just reminded me of a i guess fight you could say i had with a friend So we were talking in the official discord server and they asked me what do you think a cookies gender was, it wasnt a character that had their gender stated anywhere and they also probably wanted to know what i thought. I said i didnt think they were female because their chest wasnt covered, they told me that their chest was hardly shown because they had a cape. Around that time i really didnt want to argue over a cookies gender especially with a friend so i just told them lets just drop it and not continue

I'm a part of the fandom, and I'm not toxic. It's just that most toxic fandoms are the literal embodiment of Chernobyl's nuclear waste on the internet. I've been in the most toxic fandoms, like Undertale/Deltarune, the dark part of the Touhou fandom, Pokémon, etc., and believe me, it's a terrible experience. But the Cookie Run fandom, along with the Terraria Calamity Mod fandom, are pretty much some of the most toxic to me. CR's fandom has ship wars, gender wars (oh god no), senseless discussions and many more bad stuff. I maintain myself chill and rational, because attacking people for not sharing their POV isn't respectful. Besides, what I do in the fandom is share memes, edits and tips. I don't feel offended by the toxicity of one of my fandoms, I just feel bad for it having a bad reputation because of the ignorant people in it. So, I also wanna do something to improve this fandom one day. Late edit: Fixed a typo.
ok so I once was just on TikTok and I found this video and it was like *characters name*haters make the dumbest reasons for hating her so I obviously commented my reasons as to hating her and the creator replied. so we went back and forth for a while until I just stopped responding. they then proceeded to make a video replying to my comment basically saying im dumb and they were right. so like a normal person I blocked them and moved on. but then I was just looking up my own account because... actually I don't know why. anyway I find the video and I decide to check it. they had literally pinned a comment saying "OMG SHE BLOCKED ME FOR NO REASON" and I still remember one of the replies was "is she really that soft". So ya now I cant watch that show anymore because it brings back that memories. Worst part is that was my comfort show and I literally would watch it while having mental breakdowns and would calm down after one episode of it.
Honestly playing the game for more than 2 yrs alr, shipping is just a passing thing for me since theres so many that i dont keep track and i just go yolo on the game :P

I'ma rant here, because I had a few story to tell so get ready because it'll gonna be long. (All this happen a year or 2 ago) The cookie run fandom... kinda like gambling. If you're lucky, you'll find people who are very chill. If you're unlucky, gotta face a face toxicity from 1 or group of people. Now and days I'm very careful around other fandoms, had a friend who like cookie run but got run out because she thinks dj cookie is a girl.. On her post she clearly say it's her little headcannon but they didn't care they just went at her, another person drew dj as a girl they got some hate too. My friend felt terrible after that drama, she deleted her art and tumblr account later became she still had lingering haters.. It was very sad, she's not into cookie run as much anymore.. Had another friend, he's so kind and friendly. but can't stand some part of the fandom, he likes some characters but the fandom really like to force their ideas of a character and if you say something different what they think you gonna be accused being hater or hates lgbt+ people, some point he did a small vent on his profile talking about some issues with the fandom. Talked about cheerleader cookie, and say he really thinks she isn't trans, and even add disclaimers saying he don't hate lgtb people, it's his opinion all that stuff. But the cookie run fandom (Even some of the the lgtb group) accuse attacks him saying he thinks cheerleader cookie isn't trans, and says he hates trans.. Even tho he clearly put pretty details disclaimers that's not the case, but they come at him anyways. When that was happening i call those people out on their toxic behaviors. They did leave him after few comments but did kinda ruin our day over a small thing. Me and few other my friends highly won't talk to other in the fandom anytime soon. Had a ex friend, he seems alright we rarely talk because time zones. When dj cookie was out, we talked about dj cookie, I talked about my headcannon dj being female and he got little uh toxic over it. He keep telling me she's non-binary and I should call her "They" I explained to him it's my own little headcannon and not gonna real effect him, some part of the argument little hazy because I kinda stop caring because he won't listen. Then I think he say "my headcannon, you're a girl" amd keep calling me a girl, at the time I didn't think about, later on i think about what he say.. It's really weird because the headcannon thing doesn't really apply to actually people. .-. Cookie run fandom, got a good friend out of it, saw alot of good art. Honestly I don't have a favorite ship for myself but I appreciate every ship that is there. I got some hate for thinking like this on Twitter and made a new account afterwards. Even on Reddit I wasn't save, which was weird because I don't have similar user names so I wonder how they knew who I was. This fandom can be nice sometimes but the toxicity can reach insane levels. I just stopped talking about my opinions on most social media accounts.

As someone who's been in the fandom for a long while now, I'm also just going to share my experience because why not?
Back in September of last year, my brother introduced me to CRK. I slowly got hooked into the game and eventually downloaded Ovenbreak a month later. Around the same time, I decided to engage with the fandom expecting some chill and welcoming people but got...quite the opposite.
I keep seeing ANGRY commenters on Pinterest harassing mostly ASIAN artists for drawing a cookie's skin paler, going as far as to edit their works without permission. Mind you---I've never been exposed to any mainstream communities after this, so it was a shocker that this wasn't the kind of community I expected. However, the toxicity on that site seemed to die down and I managed to build my own safe bubble with chill fans.
I thought the CRK hype has since died down and the Cookie Run fandom is back into shape with how many familiar faces have been quitting the game. I was really sad to see a lot of RUclipsrs go but I still stuck onto the belief that "less members = chiller fandom" so I had a lot of hope in me.
Unfortunately, this wasn't the case.
Just recently, I downloaded Tiktok. My brother kept sharing some funny videos to me (not CR related tho) so I finally decided to try. Prior to this moment I've seen people warn about how haywire the CR fans are on that site, but I didn't mind since I thought building a safe space in there was also easy. As it turns out, I was wrong. So many toxic shippers, children with the most ridiculous opinions, and the OG upload of the Daycare theme remix gaining tons of hate from outsiders proved how downhill this little cookie game's reputation has gone. I wish I could turn back time and start CR earlier so I can experience engaging with its more wholesome side. Even better, I wish Timekeeper Cookie would take me to a timeline where Cookie Run gained *some* popularity but has the same rep as Omori, at least that fandom knows how to get its shit together.
For now, I'm veering away from the more..."mainstreamy" side of the community and focus on the "safe bubble" I made by myself. This is the first time I joined a chaotic sludge since 2018 so it's hard for me to adjust. I'm also checking back on Omori every now and then for eye bleach, and I'm NEVER going back to the Tiktok community or diving deep into Twitter because both of them are just...bleh.

As somebody who was in the fandom (mostly the side where you just talk about combos and new meta for trophy race and breakouts) for over 4 years i have never really met or interacted with toxic people or anything like that, so its sad to see people spewing nonsense over a ship about two characters who arent even real, and as somebody who ships lemon with orange shitting on people who have ships lemon or dj with somebody else is so stupid it makes me think if they ever have been told to not harass people over fictional characters and stupid reasons like that, jesus can't people take opinions and learn that not everyone has the same mindset as them?

I'm a part of the fandom, and I'm not toxic. It's just that most toxic fandoms are the literal embodiment of Chernobyl's nuclear waste on the internet. I've been in the most toxic fandoms, like Undertale/Deltarune, the dark part of the Touhou fandom, Pokémon, etc., and believe me, it's a terrible experience. But the Cookie Run fandom, along with the Terraria Calamity Mod fandom, are pretty much some of the most toxic to me. CR's fandom has ship wars, gender wars (oh god no), senseless discussions and many more bad stuff. I maintain myself chill and rational, because attacking people for not sharing their POV isn't respectful. Besides, what I do in the fandom is share memes, edits and tips.
I don't feel offended by the toxicity of one of my fandoms, I just feel bad for it having a bad reputation because of the ignorant people in it. So, I also wanna do something to improve this fandom one day.

ok so I once was just on TikTok and I found this video and it was like *characters name*haters make the dumbest reasons for hating her so I obviously commented my reasons as to hating her and the creator replied. so we went back and forth for a while until I just stopped responding. they then proceeded to make a video replying to my comment basically saying im dumb and they were right. so like a normal person I blocked them and moved on. but then I was just looking up my own account because... actually I don't know why. anyway I find the video and I decide to check it. they had literally pinned a comment saying "OMG SHE BLOCKED ME FOR NO REASON" and I still remember one of the replies was "is she really that soft". So ya now I cant watch that show anymore because it brings back that memories. Worst part is that was my comfort show and I literally would watch it while having mental breakdowns and would calm down after one episode of it.
