You guys are just such amazing roleplayers, and Dave is such an excellent storyteller. This is the second roleplay I've watched with Jazza and Rob, and they seem to have "type" characters; Jazza is emotionally damaged, and Rob is... Intense. And I must admit, Jen's use of her baking vocation for tracking was brilliant and hilarious. I can't believe I have to wait a whole week for more!
"You don't know that werewolf is contagious." "I feel like I would know that." "I just told you that you don't and I'm the DM." The best response to that statement XDD For real though, I have been loving this series. Dave is such a great DM! I will say, the combat of Cogent is great. It flows very well.
This game really hits all the niches of things I like, aesthetically and thematically. I love the characters and definitely have to be there for the next stream now. Let's hope the children are safe!
I LOVE how everyone is so into their character and doing crazy stuff. It's amazing to see all the decisions, the narration around what results of the dice. I am enjoying this very much while I am sewing my first medieval outfit by hand :-)
Great combat round, with a story-telling priority and adherence to the dice rolls. Tough to do when cheering for one side, but the story is better for it.
I'm so glad you upload these! I used to always watch your roleplays on twitch but I got really sick and so I'm only getting a chance to go back and watch them now.
Saw this in the stream. It was my first stream, just like a lot of others it seemed. You guys (and gal) seem to have a really good community too. Love how active you guys (and gal) are with chat! Great story, great roleplaying and I look forward to the next stream!
Listening along while working. I love this story. The characters all so amazing. Also as a well fed kid now a 4'11" person....... u sure about food lol
I find it kind of funny how you pronounce the Names Wolfgang and Hänsel as the pronunciation of ä in Hänsel and a in Wolfgang is the other way round actually. The ä is pronounced as the a in the english "gang" and the a is more like the u in "hunt". And the o in the German word Wolf is actually an o (like in "moldy"), not an u as in the English pronunciation. Just a minor technicality that made me giggle a bit. ;)
I was so absorbed by this episode, I meant to do something else while I listened to it but it was so intense that I had to watch the video the whole time! This mini campaign is just hitting all the right boxes for me and I love it! The characters are great too and I’m very interested to see how Brynn deals with himself being a werewolf as well as the other characters if/when they discover that fact. Edit: we may not get to see that struggle because Brynn might die before it happens but I hope we do
Can't say I think a destiny roll made much sense during the werewolf fight, but it is what it is. For me it seems like it should've been some kind of skill check for the werewolf to do that rather than the destiny dice. That would have made it feel more earned for it to get away with no damage and less like random chance, even if it is either way.
The battle was awesome! .but still I don't understand how you read the dice. I'm thinking that whatever number you call you have to roll even or higher then that?......let me know. Sincerely Noob.
How well known is the fairy tale "Hansel and Gretel" in different english speaking regions? I grew up in a german speaking region and here I'd say a pretty big percentage of people have at least heard or read the different Grimm's fairy tales at least once as it is kind of part of our cultural heritage. So as soon as the father was disintered in his two missing children (and lying about something), in combination with the shows name and the family being very poor, I was pretty confident what Grimm's fairy tale we were dealing with. And the mouldy bread the father had was just the cherry on top. How was that for people in different englisch speaking regions? Are Hansel and Gretel ("Hänsel und Gretchen" in german) equaly well known for you? And where do you know it from? I'm really curious, especially with fairy tales that weren't so heavily popularized by Disney (or the darker original versions of fairy tales that were popularized by Disney...)
I'd say the story is pretty well-known. I live in the United States and most people I talk to know about the story. Some details might be different here and there, but I think most kids know it from storybooks and the occasional movie (although most films that have been made are a bit old). But who knows? I'm sure there could be some people who haven't heard of it.
@@lisaradtke5669 Thank for the reply! :) I think it's really cool that these fairy tales are not only well known where they're originaly from. Fairy tales and legends in general are such a wonderful treasure trove of stories and themes to iterate on and reinvent and make new stories with, especially because they are part of cultural knowledge and so it's kinda shared knowlege to build upon and continue the tradition of passing on stories. As a child I had this HUGE book filled to the brim with fairy tales and legends from all over the world all with illustrations. I think it had over a thousend pages and I used to lug it around and pester people to tell me stories out of it even though it was so heavy I could barely carry it. It was so cool to see how different people told the stories differently even though the text was the same! :) And I still always get a kick out of seeing one of those stories told in a new light by stuff like this mini-campaign!

I would love to see how Jazza would present Bryn and the huntsman fighting. That art work would be EPIC!!

This episode is freaking fantastic. Rob's character is such a bad ass! I'm loving this campaign so far and can't wait for the next stream
So... First episode was fine but this one... Edge of the seat, nail biting stuff guys! Well done. :-)
