Not a spoiler but just an observation I think most DOOL fans would enjoy. Last week Chandler Massey liked one of my comments on a recent Days post. So random & got me thinking maybe he is back on set or in talks with Days about returning.

I think Chanel and Johnny losing the baby is more complicated. As Tony noted, the baby s/l was created by the scab writers. It was also tied to the Paulina radiation s/l that Ron and company clearly didn't like. I mean, really, who did? It was not the greatest, so I think when the regular writers came back after the strike, they wanted to slowly end anything tied to that. Also, Ron did an interview a couple months ago as his material was starting back up. He clearly stated that he left no outline or plot ideas when the writers went on strike, so everything the scab writers did was of their own accord.
As far as diversity, I am all for it. All the soaps could use a more diverse character representation. With Chanel and Johnny, I think the returning writers didn't want to saddle them with a baby this early in their relationship. They are young and should have a few more adventures before they start a family. Plus, a baby wouldn't really add to the diversity of the show, at least not for 10 years when it suddenly became 18 years old. Babies on soaps get shown for 8 weeks or so and after that are simply shown as a stroller that gets pushed into the background of scenes.
What the show needs is more adult/teen characters of color. TBF, they had Lani and Eli. They left because the actors wanted out. They come back periodically. Unless they want to come back full-time, they'd need to recast. They could bring in Theo, and do occasional, but the writers don't seem to want him all full-time for some reason. They brought in Talia, but she didn't work at all, so was written out.
They need more African American characters, though they are the most heavily represented POC on all the shows (second to the white characters that dominate, of course). What they are really lacking is the other races; Latinx, Asian, Indian, ect. There are very few or none of those. And I can't think of any/too many babies that are born who are anything but white or black. As Araceli pointed out, there is Arianna, and she is mixed yet is white with blonde hair. Um...OK.

'You don't go through a miscarriage and come out the other side ok' says who? Several people in my family had miscarriages, super early on, and yes it was sad but everyone moved on quickly without lasting issues, because it is so common. I think women who have several is a totally different thing, however, and I would never put down anyone who was *not* ok. But eveyrthing is fine for many people. I was lucky to get pregnant again right away and so I think often that I'm happy it happened that way because the baby I did have is an amazing woman now. If the first pregnancy did not end, I wouldn't have my beautiful girl that I do have in my life.

I think Mickey, Maggie, Melissa and Pete were all married together. Melissa's marriage didn't work out but the wedding was ok I think.

hi gang .... its cecily from Australia.... I am not happy with Chanel miscarriage either ... they need some new kids in storyline ... most of the main characters are over 60 ... but u know I have a sneaky thought that with johnny being a twin and they never stick to traditional twins skipping a generation .. I reckon when they arrive in where ever there going it will be discovered that channel was actually carrying twins and sadly lost one but the gift is there is another baby tucked in behind the one she lost .... gee starngr things can happen even with doctor Rolf imput ... what dio u 3 think of that idea ... we are now getting caught up with 10 play now showing us up to date as most times i don't watch your show till a few days later as u talk about stuff not aired yet it your show drops Monday mornings here but all up to date its monday night while i watch u now ...
. greetings from the land of OZ ..
