    Conversations do exist in the sims 4, most notably when using the phone, but it doesn’t last very long and doesn’t happen often, usually whenever the game feels like sending Bess Sterling to ask for money or when an anonymous person tells you to get married. It doesn’t happen when two sims are talking face-to-face, except with wicked whims installed, then they might ask you a question~

      One thing I noticed they have now in the Sims that I like is one of your other Sims that is in a relationship can call the sim you're currently playing and asks them if they should propose, and if you choose yes, then the next time you play those sims they are engaged, and that's with neighborhood stories off, kind of like an addition to their autonomy, I have neighborhood stories off cause I have a lot of unique families that I made and I don't want them moving to other places or spontaneously adopting 5 children and a cat, cause the next time I play that household it would be too much and too many changes, besides I want to make a few Sims that run an orphanage and handle adoptions as I have the children being taken away by social worker turned off with a mod, not sure why some strangers that live halfway across the world would instantly adopt a child if the kid's parents died, besides what if the kid has relatives somewhere shouldn't the kid be adopted by them before by a stranger they've never met? Besides they could just be looking for a child for a source of plasma if they are a vampire, yeah I have a mod for that too, child vampires that burn in sunlight and need to drink plasma, usually from other children so they can reach their neck without weird stretching, can't wait to see what modders will make for Life By You.

    I honestly believe this game has taken the IMVU/Second life with a subtle hint of the sims, direction, I'm here for it though.
    It's also going to be interesting to see how they build off of some of these concepts such as creating your own dialogue, right up my alley but also could massively flop too

    7:55 If I interpreted the presentation correctly, you can control your character with a controller. That's probably why the view is slightly different from the usual Sims view. If this works properly, I can often see myself walking around with the controller instead of the normal point and click controls.

    I've seen both a prompt to go to your door, there's something for you and I have seen a screen shot of a present, all wrapped up, sitting on someone's porch. Rod Humble worked on both S2 and S3. In S2 (I think) Rod was an in-game NPC that, when you moved into the neighborhood, would gift you with a new computer. I hope this is a renewal of that action. In info about this game, the characters are called HUMANS. Maybe, because this game is more realistic than others, they are going to call them humans. I was hoping for LIFERS. There's so much you can MOD in-game, it makes me feel slightly overwhelmed. Hopefully, we can just play the game and these things will handle themselves. I don't feel the need to get super creative but, there are times in S4 when I wish I could simply change the color or design of a wallpaper or fabric for a couch. Thanks.

  • @Ray_Vun
    @Ray_Vun Год назад +10

    the xp could be for traits that you can add to your cim. like in the sims, you get those points from completing aspirations and you can spend them to "upgrade" your sim, but if your sim is a supernatural, they have a skill tree and you earn points over time from performing actions of that occult, which then allows you to unlock things in the tree, like vampires being immune to sunlight and shit like that. so maybe the xp in this game is for those skill tree type things

    A custom “furniture” setting isn’t a difficult coding problem, it’s a difficult game design problem.

      I think there will be plenty of stuff for people who just want to play, but they are emphasising that there is that freedom for those that want it. They've also said it will be easy to share creations, so even if you don't want to make custom conversions or anything, you'll be able to add ones other people have made and shared if you get bored of the stuff already in the game.

    Ok so I'm behind. It's a little thing, but one thing I noticed was the outerwear was actually outerwear, it went OVER the regular clothes. I love that so much.
    Now, I took the dialogue options to mean you can choose what you ask as opposed to, say, Sims 3 (because I've been playing that alot) where you just click "chat" and you have no idea what they're actually chatting about, or "get to know" and it random what you learn about the other sim. Whereas here you can specifically ask about a trait or favorite color or whatever instead of getting something random.
    Overall, I don't care, I WANT this! My niece immediately asked about occults.

  • @ClaudiaWowPaw
    @ClaudiaWowPaw Год назад +13

    I don’t know if I like the idea of having to make up my own stories to the point to actually write the dialogue. I do like quests tho , but if they do that in a game like this I would like it to be like the quests we had in TS3 adventures ep. Micromanaging everything in a game is overwhelming, it happened to me with planet zoo.

    • @onidaaitsubasa4177
      @onidaaitsubasa4177 Год назад +11

      Well, I'm sure Life By You will be a basic life sim also with full autonomy, as for stories, they might have included some for players to discover as for the conversations, there is already a huge list of conversation things already included, and there will likely be people that will upload a whole story with added dialogue or just new dialogue topics or events that others can download and play without having to write anything themselves, but it's cool that it will let you make stories, especially for people that do Life Simulation films for RUclips, or if you get an idea to include a conversation you had with someone in real life, you can add it to the game, with Rod on the team, the brains behind Sims 2, that had so much more details to life events than Sims 4 ever did, like cereal, Sims 2 they used to pour the cereal into a bowl and then pour in the milk from a container, Sims 4 they reach in and pull out a bowl of cereal like it's already made, a lot of things in Sims 4 gives the impression that they usually cut corners or do a lazy job compared to the details of things in Sims 2. Sims 2 even had cars, and they didn't have a partial open world like Sims 4 has. I don't even know why they have closed lots anyway, when you go visit someone the inside of the house doesn't even show till your sim knocks on the door, they could have replaced the loading screen with a procedural loading of the house's interior and the sims inside of it.

    a little correction here for you, colossal order (city skyline's developer) is not the Life by you developer (paradox tectonic). They share the same publisher, but the development teams are totally different. And sharing a publisher does not mean sharing anything else. In this case, it's even less likely. Colossal Order is a "Third Party" studio to Paradox, meanwhile, Paradox Techtonic is a first party (owned by Paradox the publisher). any similitude in art style might be due to a shared engine (Unity), or coincidence.

    Will the Story Creator or Conversation Creator be similar to making your own visual novel game? Like those japanese visual novel games? Although i am not a write, that sounds fun. Also the Quest Creator.
    But i wonder why the emcee shushed Rod when he was starting to tell us about these Story, Quest and other creators. Maybe those are actually too ambitious and they didn't made them at all yet?

  • @anomalytenacious

    A drink need would go well if seasons are a thing, hot days might make you more thirsty, being sick could drain your thirst faster while you may lack an appetite and feel full when sick. Lack of hydration could cause dizziness, delusions and nausea. while hunger could be connected to fatigue, grumpiness and irritability. Hunger wouldn't be connected to weather and exercise (exercise like yoga and jogging), but would connect more with time passed and hard manual labor like carrying a lot of crates, lifting weights, etc. Who knows, as long as they make the thirst and hunger feel different and serve a purpose that doesn't make players ask why isn't it all just under one umbrella, then I think it could be fun to manage.

    I've never played Sims 3, so I don't know how great Sims 3 having open worlds really was (maybe it is just nostalgia for some people), but I cannot wait to have SO many more lots. I wouldn't feel bad about having small houses with one person in them. I could make the entire town of Sonic the Hedgehog characters instead of having to pack them into one house.
    My main concern is, will all our worlds look like this sort of country-village thing? Cuz that's a bit... repetitive.
    Let's call them 'Peeps'. You know, because you can switch between them, and 'peep' into other lives.

    • @needlesandsonics5819
      @needlesandsonics5819 Год назад +3

      Well people don’t explain why the open world was so important enough.
      It’s not based on nostalgia. In the open world of TS3, when you had more than one sim each could be out doing their thing independently of each other and you could switch between them. In TS4, that isn’t possible. If you send one out to a festival for instance, you can not go back and check on the ones at home without ending the festival event and sending that Sim back home.
      It was a better system and one many had hoped would be refined and improved in the Sims4 but it was gutted all together.

    • @hyenaholicproductions9033
      @hyenaholicproductions9033 Год назад

      @@needlesandsonics5819 I sort of get that, I've just never played it. I would read about how it slowed the game down. Ironically, even though we could now have lots of lots and lots of... lots... per world, we are given far less. There are even huge voids of empty spaces where a Lot could be, but it isn't.
      You know when EA said that making Sims for consoles would be a 1:1 transfer, I was suspicious that in order to do this, the game would in future become smaller. They said not, but there's so many shell buildings in new worlds ever since...

    I'm worried that the spoken language might require click-click-click-click to get through. That's a fun once kind of thing. Unless teh dialogue is different every time (and how could it be in a game?) the micro management needed will become tiresome. So I hope it's a "see this once" kind of thing or a skip option. Sometimes you want to be the director when you play. Other times you want to kick back and watch what the sims get up to on their own.

Say like your sim or character has a job but its NOT close enough to their home. No prblem. Just take that home and place it where the sim or character works and bam! Now their home is CLOSER to their work place.👍👍👍👍 that gonna be so cool.
    I also like that there is going to be CARS in the game too. NOT only that but the fact that IF you play with controls like X box U CAN CONTROL the CARS! 👍⭐that wil sooo cool too. The manager ROD humble and his team said they WANT to make this gam the BEST they CAN make it to be and AS REAL as they can for better game play. I for one HOPE they ACHIEVE what they WANT to do.
    I have a GOOD feeling that this game wil be a GOOD one. Will it make me want to stop playing sims 4 though. NO i still play sims 4. But Haveing this game will be awsome. I think what i like about best of all is that fact it NOT the sims 4.and that this game is its OWN game.
