I can already imagine the vivid image of Shantelle Chantelle running over people in a car like crazy while Shanice Shanice is calmly picking herbs in the front yard 💀 I'm so excited for this game!!!
Oh my god imagine making 3d "visual novels" with the mods system in LBY. I hope a lot of storytellers, especially artists with original characters will get this game because it could be utilized for creative storytelling. Really looking forward to LBY!
I agree , I'm a artist and paralives fits more of my imagination world when it comes to a game I would love to play, create characters and stories with 💗
I'm definitely with you on the gameplay being much more important than the graphics. I think that's also a "disease" of the games industry. Everything always has to look great. But if you look under the surface, there's not much going on in most games these days. Unfortunately, many people are blinded by beautiful graphics. I can't tell you how many times I've had discussions with people who think a game is so great just because it looked nice…
I don’t get this argument. What is wrong with wanting a game to have visuals that are as good as the gameplay? Another “disease” of the gaming industry is gaming publishers not delivering on both so people don’t demand it. They think we can only get good gameplay OR graphics. It’s 2023, the technology and talent is abundant. Delivering on both means the game will appeal to a wider audience which should be the goal. We want this game to be wildly successful. With its success means we’ll see LBY 2, 3, 4 and so on.
@@BrieChennel My point was that some people rate a game positively only because of the graphics. Of course, the balance between graphics and gameplay has to be right. I never said that the graphics don't matter at all. But for me it plays a subordinate role. Gameplay and content are more important to me...
As a kid, my perfect video game dream was always a crossover of the sims 3 and GTA V which sounds wild but all I wanted to do is make a cute little family but make the mom like a serial killer or something and go out and be gay and do crime and come back home and help the kid with homework lmao and I think Life By You is the closest I’m gonna get lol
About the character models, they remind me of unreal engine assets. I don't expect BDO levels of realism, but I do expect some spit and shine on my characters. Stylized has a longer shelf life than realistic styles so I personally would prefer them to edge away from the second life/IMVU style and edge a little closer to a middle ground of realism and stylized.
Let’s be honest, if this game was released now underdeveloped it’d have less problems than TS4 and would have far more gameplay. Thank you for covering this! I agree, even if it isn’t beautiful, if the gameplay is amazing we’ll just get used to it. Plus, the appearance is something I’m sure they can work on even when the game is released (I assume), but gameplay first.
I like quests too. Sims Medieval is my favorite game for that. There are a lot of quests there with main characters. I'm hoping that Life by You has goal oriented quests.
I agree so much on gameplay over graphics, graphics are nice to look at, but if the gameplay is feeling empty or based on complete randomness, which is the easy way out for developers (Sims 4), you are going to get bored of it so fast 😅 I've found that if the game is good enough, you don't really focus on graphics after certain point or they kind of grow on you since the gameplay is what makes it all worth it. For example Sims 3 grahics are not the best and the characters look a bit clay like, but the gameplay was so good it did not matter after you got into the game.
I loooove all the customisation options! Can 100% see my little perfectionist brain happily losing itself in all of that, at the same time it's great you don't have to. Play the game exactly the way you want, yesss. The nodes thing btw is an extremely simplified visualization of, well, programming. You're basically creating your own little tree of options the game then follows. Simple formula: If A, then B, else C. If person 1 says this (e.g "hey there"), person 2 can reply this (e.g. "hi"), this ("hello"), or this ("oh wow, you have a sufficient face") - and it might branch off from there again. Seeing grand chances for spam and swearing there but also for localisation (honestly, try some Sims 4 mods if your native language isn't English, it's wild) Signed, developer fluent in €uro
They should mail you a ticket if you hit people or cars. Incur a massive debt from it all. lol It would be nice if a sort of reputation system was in place so that NPC's care about the things you do. One issue I have with Sims 4 is no matter how evil my sim is, nobody cares and they still hang out. I think it took sims 4 10 years to finally make sims care a little, it would be nice if this game made this the standard.
I always go back to sims 3 for the game play and if i want clothes or furniture more modern i can just get CC lol So I don't really mind how the beings in LBY look like
I don't comment much, youtube socializing is a scary idea, but I really enjoy your videos, sometimes in the background because your voice is aesthetically soothing and your brutal honesty with both your life and the game is very much appreciated. I hope you are doing well.
Honestly hoping for far more stylization, or at least support for mods that'd allow for such a thing. The Sims always had that level of stylization and art direction going for it and I think my main gripe with Life by You atm has to be the fact it looks like generic Unreal Engine fare that almost reminds me of modern shovelware titles.
about your point of Life by You not needing to look as good because it makes up in gameplay, that's true to an extent, if the game lacks polish and optimization, looks like an eyesore, and can only run on super high end nasa PCs, then no amount of gameplay and customization can save it, that's kinda the game right now, i just hope they listen to feedback about the graphics, i really really do, a game can look amazing and still have amazing gameplay, as it is the case with Paralives so far, the game doesn't need to be super stylized to be pretty, it just needs to be coherent, Life by You completely lacks coherence
Literally come here just to listen to that laugh ❤ but actually so excited for this game. I wonder if players can use the dialogue system to create fun stories between the... Humims... (human sims) and upload them to share with other people as part of their worlds. Like sharing save files.
I’m in love with all of the gameplay and customization features but I would definitely be displeased if the graphics, textures, and UI aren’t drastically overhauled and modernized. I love art, graphics, and visuals. When you’re planning to play a game for 5+ hours at a time, it needs to be pleasing to look at. I’d even pay more money for improved graphics. The technology and talent is there, they just have to harness it.
@@yageshabazz3456 Not sure what you’re talking about here. It’s clear that LBY will have amazing gameplay. The game can have really awesome visuals as well. Not sure why people think a game can’t have both. Lol.

I actually hate how conversations look like cutscenes. U could argue it adds to immersion but it takes away from it for me bc its like u go from playing normally to being ripped into a cutscene all bc u wanted to ask someone how their day was. The cutscene convos give me rpg vibes and i wouldnt want that unless its a quest conversation.
I hope as soon as the game releases someone already goes and makes a "No dialogue!" Mod for this game honestly. And i can see it turning into an essential mod very easily
@M Fazar Izzamuddin Tengku Even so, i still dont like how conversations look like cutscenes. My point is that i dont want conversations to strictly look like cutscenes to where its like that for the most simplest of convos
@@glitter587 Then just don't... you don't have to make it into "cutscenes", it's an option you can opt out to. That's what they meant by not "pulled" in. you aren't pulled into the conversation.
@M Fazar Izzamuddin Tengku I thought that was said regarding autonomous conversations. But if u can indeed opt out of it entirely then thats wuts up. I still stand by wut i said so id only enable it for quests. To each their own
I also place more importance on gameplay than the look of the game. I prefer Sims 3 to Sims 4. The LBY characters do look like they are sheathed in plastic, and I'm glad they are still working on improving that, but I'm more interested in the wide range of traits and other elements that can help build a background before placing the character into the game. It's kind of frustrating to create an elder sim with no family background and no skills and drop them into a world and then try to "catch up" after the fact, so that's the part of the "create a human" that has me the most intrigued.
Hum, i wonder if all the dialogues things features and the AI will be imagined for other languages ? We don’t all speak and write english fluently. In my case, it’s not my first langage, I’m french. I understand well when I read it but it’s more difficult for me to write and talk in english 😅

They have to work on the graphics. Push the game back if you must, but the graphics are good put off so many sims players. The animations aren’t that great either
I was watching, and suddenly there's Russian language at 8:00. I didn't expect that lol. At first I thought I'm crazy and started to hear my native language in Satch's video
To be honest. I'm hoping a lot for it. But so far it's not taking over Sims 4 just yet till I get more information. I like the ideas and information so far. But just watching everything in action it still feels so empty. It looks like a very lonely world and not much is happening. It's just based off what I've seen so far. My biggest gripe about Sims 4 was just the autonomy and the more Sims there are on the lot the worse it gets. "Dine Out" For example I think suffers from that. I just know the game can barely handle 8 Sims on lot. More than 20 and... things just get stuck after a while. I'm getting stuck now in family gameplay a lot and have to refresh debug. That was always the main issue for me.
Plz Life by you, remove all the stupid animations like the hearts etc when making out for example. We know they are in love when they kiss.... we are not stupid like EA....
I honestly don’t like this. If the game has an existing good lore (like the sims 2) none of this matters. It’s just cosmetic too it won’t change any outcomes. It looks like extra work only. Also the graphics 💀💀💀. The aesthetic is important it needs good gameplay and to look good. Even pixel games can accomplish that. This just looks messy.
This game definitely looks like fun and I want to play it but I am more interested in Paralives I just love the unique art style of Paralives s and it seems to be it’s own thing, I wish that one was coming out soon, this looks more like a upgrade Sims 3 game

My only issue would be character voices, in the sims 4 everyone speaks simlish and you can edit the way their voices sound. It is a very ugly game. Lost my interest imediatly.
Then by all means, carry on playing that buggy extortionate excuse of a cash cow by EA.
@@lemontrickle6033 because there are only two options, right? Hahahahaha
@@VictorGBarbosa for life sims by my memory, sims is in a monopoly at the moment yes. Unless you can name another?
@@lemontrickle6033 I dont play sims anymore but i also think this looks awefull... Plus you have no idea what the future will bring for this game.. Its a company.. company needs to make money.... So yeah... ;-)
@@brendadebest-ek8ct I’m sure theyve figured it out like 99% of devs not to be extortionate about it.
I thought Satch would say "your face is sultry" I was just waiting on it 😭.
I've lost interest in Life By You already. It just seems so soulless and charmless. Crossing my fingers for Paralives.
Love quests, how you prefer adventures over Sims Medieval is beyond me. That game was something great 🥲
