  • The Mississippi River is the most fertile body of water in the United States, and just to prove it we went catfishing on the river near downtown Baton Rouge. Watch to see how we used trot lines, jug lines, and rod and reel fishing to fill up a live well with some tasty freshwater cats.

Enjoyed video, I seen you have your boat for sale. I do a lot of catfishing using noodles and trotlines. I am looking for another boat to do my catfishing out of. You might try cut up perch on your lines, I have more luck using perch than I do on crawfish.

noodle fishing is so much easier than running trotlines, and better on your back and easier to put out

If you're going to put in a boat in the Mississippi River, be safe and respect her. Always wear your Life Vest. It looked like to me, he put in on the West Bank (Port Allen) and crossed the river. I don't 'recommend doing this in a boat that you don't 100% trust. Do not attempt to cross in a small Bateau. When I was young we did, and we could feel the current twisting the boat. Remember, if you fall in the river without a vest, chances are slim to none that you will make it out alive.
