I did like the ladys guide book but wasn't blown away by it and actually liked it less than the first book. I really liked the depiction of feminism and how it showed there was more than one way to be feminist (much needed at the time it was published). But yeah, mediocre. I am glad I moved on and didn't get to the third book, as I have no interest in it and forgot that character even existed lol. I am so glad you loved beloved!! It is so tragic, and the writing style is masterfully done. I agreed with everything you said and I am currently reading song of solomon now! I would highly recommend the bluest eye for your next morrison if you want more but do check the subject matter / content because it is quite... intense. 'I want my favourite character to suffer' as a fan of a good dose of angst in my stories, if my favourite character did not suffer... they would not be my favourite character. Ready player two being a copy paste of SOA will never not be wild to me lol. I read the lovely bones as a teen but felt really mediocre about it. It may be because I had read some recently published books on SA at the time that I think handled the subject matter better? Also yeah, that s*x scene was super weird. TOKYO GHOUL MY LOVE.

I've still not read anything from Toni Morrison and I really need to! I keep hearing about Spy x Family and I need to read it! Ready Player Two is tentatively on my tbr too... it's not one I'll be picking up anytime soon hahaha
