Hi buddy, I need to ask you a question regarding a 2004 R1150R. Have you changed a battery and your motorcycle is running on one cylinder? or the engine doesn't run smoothly, like a spark plug won't work? And before everything worked perfectly? I await your comments.
I like to scuff the New terminals and Cable terminals with sandpaper tgen apply Dieletric Grease over them after connecting .keep them nice for long time. Also sucks to get that all back togather and have a dirty connection . Give all electrical connectors some Dieletric grease while yer in there !
I ride my dual sparkplug 1150rt daily 60km total, I have installed Bosch M4-F45 3 years ago at 68.000 km, then 2 years later at 95.000 km battery failed to recharge. I installed Bosch again it has been more than 1 year and 20.000 km, no problems at the moment. I wonder if it will fail again around January. Is 2 years normal for the battery life? I have 2 led side foglights, no other accesory...
Uhm well. I found out that your starter motor can be the problem. So if the starter motor gets kind of loose/old, it will send a bigger voltage, which leads to becoming warmer, which makes the magnets make looser. In this proces The starter motor Just f's with your battery, making it lose more electricity. Since batteries work different then phone batteries, motorcycle batteries will have some electricity left when low. So for that starter motor to make use of that it will destroy the battery way quicker. ( I stumbled on a video explaining this while searching for a replacement battery video)
Ohw also. Idk what kind of battery you got and if it is good, but I know for a fact that bmw bikes got a heavy starter motor. So I bought a battery with "extra juice"
@@tpiechnik my starter motor is fine, I've changed the brushes 2 months before the first battery change, it starts fine without any hesitation. It is a bosch M4-F45 12 v 19ah.
Big help on my New for me 2004 GS, 1150 that I bought with 13,000 miles on it. Kicking it up from my 95GSPD classic. Thanks a million bro 🌝👍🌟
Good job l like that you give the wrench sizes, makes it easier and faster. Thanks 👍
Thanks, new to me 1997 R1100GS. Had no idea how to take the tank off!! Great, simple explanations.
Glad it helped
What's the part directly in front of the battery compartment towards the handlebars?
