Hi Neal, from the Yukon (northern Canada) - David Martin is also a history kind of guy - just did a talk at the Arlington Institute last Saturday. It costs to listen to, but very worth the $. About 4 hrs in 2 parts. I enjoy very much hearing what you have to say about pretty much anything.... if Canada wasn't in such abysmal shape at this moment I'd say - come visit! - it is much like Scotland, but with trees!
Lindisfarne is lovely and what a transporting talk. I read Iain Crichton Smith's Consider the Lilies about the Highland Clearances, and was wondering if those had a resonance with the global attempt to take away farmers' lands? (I'm trying to think like Neil Oliver and look back in history to find the times that something similar happened)
I never made the connection but you made it for me,yes, the highland clearances on a global scale done for almost the same reasons i.e. the 'elites' know what's best for you and more importantly what's best for THEM.
Back in the early 90s I went there in a dream. There was this very wide staircase of stone that went to a fairly deep basement. I didn't walk down but I did walk up from the basement. Of course The imagination runs wild in a dream especially in one this facinating. I was convinced this was Paul McCartney's estate. And while, there was every indication it was inhabited, not only were there are no signs of life, there was no Paul and no Linda. I explored the above ground ruins. The place was absolutely magical.
Neil, you have a voice as loud and knowledgeable as the great Bill McLaren. You have done more for freedom in the last few years as anyone e I can think of.... keep up the great work.... thanks my friend
The Vikings only ever gained brief footholds in the north of Cymru / Wales, before being slaughtered and chased off. Despite the might of Rome, the Angle Jutes Saxon's Flemish and multiple mercinary hordes. Then the Norman, Norman English and eventually the English, the tiny nation of the Cymru is still here. Yet against all odds, their story is air brushed from the narrative of the British isles. Even the ancient indigenous languages survives against overwhelming oppression and subjugation. Not bad for a bunch of sheep shaggin hill tribes? Heddwch / Peace in the ancient tongue.
I’m sorry that is your impression of the fate of those of Wales. How deep our histories run. My daughter was at Cardiff for years & loved it. I visited as dad a few times. I made a much more special visit as a teenager on a motorcycle. A most special trip to Haverfordwest, late 1970s. Some days with friends I’ve never forgotten. Faint memories of childhood visits to areas where blasting was occasionally heard, preceded by a long, mournful horn of warning, then booms. I don’t know where that was. My early years are suspended in time among a broken family & ive no clear memories. Only of foreboding. This would be early 1960s. Peace to you also, brother.
@ Andrew Whelen: I hardly think that Welsh history has been hair-brushed from any narrative; merely that it competes with that of others. It’s a ‘to scale’ thing - per capita history, perhaps? 😉

This is Dr Mike Yeadon, by the way.
I’ve pretty much worked it all out, Agatha Christie style, just too late to make any difference I fear.
All through this, I’ve reasoned that if I was to plot to takeover the world, I wouldn’t start unless I was sure I’d succeed. If I had been more successful, earlier, I’d be dead. Now, I’m just one among billions, safe to ignore. I have insufficient reach to awaken enough people to make a difference. People could easily stop this, even now, but in small numbers, they’ll count their shoes & do nothing.
transhumanism followed by cyborgs, followed by full robots - themselves also because they see it as everlasting physical life. Human minds uploaded to the cloud supercomputer, ready to download what is wanted by them.
Cyborgization stage 1 - screens.
Stage 2 - witches brew with nano and foive jee.
I don't know the order of the other stages and I dread to imagine.
I have heard Neil"s social commentary, but this is a side of him I was unaware of...a wonderful 40 minutes! 👍

I don't read very much and he writes as he speaks.
Brilliant!
I’m told that if you comb the beach on Lindisfarne you may find stones called St.Cuthberts beads.
See “the Northern Mudlarks.”

Just brilliant!
I've been to Lindisfarne many times the Mead Is. Beautiful as is the Island .
Ah , Henry, if you could change your past , would you ? What , as you look back , do you regret the action taken ?
These are some of the questions I , for one , ponder ....
Your always fascinating and I THANK YOU for sharing your vast knowledge.
♥️👍🙉🙊🙈✌️

Love you Niel

Back in the early 90s I went there in a dream. There was this very wide staircase of stone that went to a fairly deep basement. I didn't walk down but I did walk up from the basement. Of course The imagination runs wild in a dream especially in one this facinating. I was convinced this was Paul McCartney's estate. And while, there was every indication it was inhabited, not only were there are no signs of life, there was no Paul and no Linda. I explored the above ground ruins. The place was absolutely magical.

I hope to visit some day.
This is good stuff. Thanks man.
Wondrous !
I renounce England . I feel the call of my ancestors blood . Viking pride
Neil is king Arthur all hail king Arthur !!!!!!!
Neil, I understand you're not a follower of ''the way'' (Christianity), but thank you for your sympathetic/ realistic treatment of it. I am a follower of Jesus of Nazareth myself and appreciate your historical perspectives.
I hope Neil, you will do a bit on the Isle of Man, at some stage. As you know, they took it and never left. They did leave a lasting legacy of unbroken parliament, Tynwald, still running today👍🏻
Vikings, that is👍🏻
A really great idea! As a biker, the Isle of Man TT has a special place in my heart. Love to learn more of the island itself.
If they draw and quarter this man I hope he remembers to cry "FREEDOM.....!!!!!!.
