    so smart, love to find uses with all these new ai programs, I've been using an AI upscaler for my latest renders, helps a little bit!

    • @NewPlastic
      @NewPlastic  3 года назад +4

      I agree man, I really think this would be a sure implementation in future engine development, I can't see a reason why not. There's literally no reason to render each and every frame if an AI app can simply interpolate between each rendered frame.
      It's amazing to see it, in 5-10 years we're going to look back and think "I can't believe we used to work so brutally and slowly", just like artists who have been working for that long are probably looking back at 2010's 3D world.

  • @yeahmitch
    @yeahmitch 3 года назад +2

    Thank you so much dude, you saved my butt. I had a client that wanted the render I made but slow-mo. I was like frick that's gonna take two days of rendering on my 2070. I tossed the whole video in and it looked immaculate in only 2 hours. All I had to do was cut one from in between each cut, because it confused the AI.

    • @yeahmitch
      @yeahmitch 3 года назад +1

      one frame* in between

    • @NewPlastic
      @NewPlastic  3 года назад

      That's so dope to hear! It's perfect for those kind of problems. And yes I should've said that if you have a footage that has jump cuts, you need to feed each cut into the app and then stitch them back together after it's done.

      Man that's a great question. Honestly, you just can't upload a good quality video to IG, there's always gonna be heavy compression made by instagram. But there are a few things to keep in mind, so its might be a good idea for a quick tip.

      Thats a great question - I haven't tested it myself but I know there's a Vulkan-Dain version of the program that works on Macs. Google Vulkan Dain and you'll find a few GitHub links.
      I know they work, I think they're a bit tricker to operate but I haven't tested them out!

    Great stuff! How does this compare to After Effects' own Timewarp effect?

    • @NewPlastic
      @NewPlastic  3 года назад +1

      It doesn't :) After effects' pixel-morphing time stretch is pretty much useless cuz it has so many artifacts and distortions. This AI technique can't even be compared, even tho it's not perfect (especially when it comes to flat background like in the example I show) but it's lightyears ahead of AE. It always surprises me in tis results

    Really interesting! How does this compare to the Twixtor plug in for After Effects? Cleaner?

    • @NewPlastic
      @NewPlastic  3 года назад

      Good question. Just by looking at Twixtor's price I can tell you this is much better. I didn't test that plugin out but from what I see it's not as capable as this when it comes to regular footage (one that is not already shot at 120 fps lol)

    • @BADBILLY
      @BADBILLY 3 года назад +1

      Twixtor blends frames together to create new frames.
      Dain calculates whole new frames - much more detailed result.
