- Microsoft Recall
This comment is gold 🤣😂
MS should use this to promote that trash AI
lol xd
Oh, can't you see
You All belong to me
How Microsofts poor heart aches
With every snap shot they take
😂😂
Not even exaggerating this time 🤣
So true
He still is though, just not as much 😂
Apple glazer I see
?
this is most idiotic NSA feature, they are tired of doing the work old way
Every Microsoft "opt in" will nag you until you turn it one.
Sometimes people will even misclick and turn it on by accident and not know where to opt back out at
Or until a random Windows update "accidentally" turns it on for you.
That's not nagging. That's them giving you a "recommendation."
@@jdoe2737 we call it a "Bug" for legal reasons
Or turn it two
I love how hackers wear hoodies and sunglasses at their computers. So easy to spot them!
Lol
Even a white "anonymous" mask often!
Hacker’s laptops produce a surprising amount of glare for some reason
„You know it was a bad idea when even the name says they should take it back” 😅😅😅😅
I honestly thought they did a real recall at first when all the videos started showing up on it.
Then found out a few mins later.
I just finished wiping the C:\ drive and installed Linux Mint. I’d love to see the look on Microsoft’s faces when the last “Recall” screenshots are of everyone downloading a Linux ISO. 😄
It's just that some apps unfortunately only work on windows...
@@orangeeeeeeeya, but it comes down the question: do you need them? Do they not work in wine or proton? Do they not behave in a kvm? Then keep windows I guess.
@@lpnp9477 Yes there are apps I need that I'm pretty sure are finicky to use with Linux. I guess you just have to make a compromise one way or the other.
Have fun trying to find your files in the Linux crap jungle.
@@lpnp9477
Eh. Its a problem of userbase. If everyone was using linux, everyone would code with linux in mind
"I thought installing Windows would've been permission enough for that...but, whatever..." 🤣😂🤣😂
The opt-out button is labelled "Remind me later"
is it?
Microsoft always turn features on even if you turned them off 1000 times. There is no way recall stays off.
Well regedit is cool
@@Rightly_Divided Not really. I would agree if data actually stopped leaving your pc when you turn off the data collecting features. If task manager doesn't show it, does it cease to exist? Or is microsoft's "just trust me bro" the same as always?
@@jaqhass Local GPOs can disable certain data from leaving your machine. Also, you can put a device on your network that will trap DNS requests to certain places.
@@Rightly_Divided The whole dynamic will change tho. Your pc will eventually process your data instead of a server and your pc will send the post-process stuff instead. Recall is just gona get replaced by something else in time. Either in one go or bit by bit. You’l see. It’s microsoft.
@@jaqhass Actually. I did just think about something. It will have special processors, and chips with baked in AI. Unless I could break my way into those chips, you may be right.
Whoever at Microsoft thought this was a good idea needs to be hacked and shown their recall history
They probably opted out of using the spyware
@@swagmuffin9000 they probably use selinux with a firewall.
I heard they use Linux, lol
Microsoft was known for using Linux web servers for the longest time, just saying.@@wanjohi
Nah Microsoft itself doesn't use their own Windows. They use Linux as their daily driver for development ☠️
You know it's bad when Microsoft blatantly comes out and says "we're gonna be spying on you" instead of trying to keep it a secret
How does it make that worse? At least we microsoft-conspiracy theorists will have a proper source to point to.
I think OP means to say that something is seriously wrong with society if the only people who care about this are niche users on the internet like us. Else it would be all over the news and be a scandal yet it’s not
Well Bill Gates does want control. He also wants 15% of the population killed off.
He should be first in line.
@@rikai5344 Is it even a conspiracy anymore at this point?
They took all the fun and guesswork out of it, may as well print in the newspaper at this point
I love how Co-pilot AI says it doesn’t store or remember information shared with it, yet when I bring up a topic in a new conversation it instantly knows everything I’ve said!
2:24 "hack when you get back". The new hacker motto. 😂
Large multi-billion dollar business love this feature! They can now have all of their private information stolen, company-wide. Well done, Windows!
What am I doing about it?
Linux Mint 21 installed a few days ago.
It's awesome. I can't believe I didn't do it years ago.
I did a few months ago, W10 seems foriegn to me and its still a PITA to use compare, oh I dunno, FUCKING LINUX. Search actually searches? wow, so..... 2000's
"This recall is amazing! I can see everything I was doing last week! Like:"

You have to synchronise your bank account with Microsoft Store. And it's done - no more recall hackers involved only Microsoft.
Yes, life could be so easy!
Yes am totally giving my bank info to microsoft 💀
Yes its so handy they can automatically opt you in to all their products ! no need to ask for your bank details they can just take the money automatically.
Microsoft successfully installed a key logger on every Windows users system. They don’t even have to use traditional user data mining techniques anymore. Awesome innovation!
Hackers deserve some life improvements too, you know
Microsoft: we will now encrypt your data, which, uh, we said we already did?
Microsoft just removed the P from PC. There doesn't exists anything personal anymore with Windows. Even if it's disabled, it's really not. This is by design.
Literally 1984
Wonder how long it will be before they backtrack the local storage and move it to cloud for that extra sweet sweet security, while at the same time opting you in by default in an update.
At this point they should just change the name to Windows Exploiter
🤣🤣 Underrated comment.
Well, Gates exploited its users from day one. Siphoned off so much from his customers and it still happens today.
AHAHAHAHAHA PLSSS-
I just find it incredible that nobody in Microsoft thought - "hey - this might not be a good idea" before annoucing it. I guess they must have a - yes man - culture.
Especially when the reason for it is in case you want to remember some bit of information that you forgot from a few days ago. How many times have I needed that “feature” in my life? Uh, NEVER!
(at least when it comes to AI, everything is "yes-man")
WSM - Windows Subsystem for Malware
What do you mean "subsystem"? It's the entire os at this point. Either way, your comment gave me a good laugh
I don't know what MS are playing at lately. The new outlook takes away simple but useful features, copilot just gets in the way of everything and generally they are making what should be getting easier, more frustrating. Working with computers all day this really drives me insane to the point of considering a career change.
I'm a computer programmer, and I wish I could escape Windows but pretty much all job ads right now are for Microsoft-ecosystem stuff at least where I am
@@traveller23eI've switched to Linux in 2006, changed job from C++ to web development. Microsoft never disappointed my decision.
I do feel like computers are getting harder and harder to use. More silly account shenanigans to deal with as everything moves to the cloud. More and more pop-ups nagging users about new features. More and more workarounds required just to keep doing the same old computing tasks.
@@2bfrank657 the other day I pirated an album by one of my favorite artists purely because there was no way to simply pay for an MP3 file. My only legal options were to create an account either on iTunes or Spotify.
@2bfrank657 It's not a feeling, it's a fact. Microsoft decided to no longer make their OS for the user, but to make their OSes work towards Microsoft's own benefit first instead, when they developed Windows 10. They have slowly and steadily been introducing new self-serving features that nag and distract the user over the lifetime of Windows 10 and now they feel like they've slow-boiled their users enough to drop the pretense of selling tools and features to help you do your computing tasks (and collect some data on the side) and outright advertise the fact that Windows 11 is a tool for Microsoft to datamine the user, advertise and sell subscriptions to them that may let the user do their computing tasks on the side.
Fortunately, Linux is very useable these days, even for gamers like myself. I switched to Linux two months ago and it's been such a pleasure! Computing is so much more fun to me again than it's ever been on Windows 10!
Remember when System Restore would sometimes bring back the virus or spyware after you finally got rid of it?
Oh yah, that was always fun.
All though I always had more issues with uninstalling programs deleting some system necessary files that they had changed during install and then Windows just not loading.
Happily, Microsoft seems to have finally been like, "You shall NOT mess with anything in the Windows and other system necessary folders" to program devs.
Apple in early 2000s: Time Machine and Spotlight, baby!
Microsoft in 2024: Spyware so you find your stuff.
Correction: Spyware so _everyone else_ can find your stuff.
One more reason not to use this Crap Anymore .... Linux + Steam + Proton = Bye Bye Microsoft
Until you remember Microsoft bought a seat on the Linux Foundation and has been actively developing for the linux kernel since 2018.
Still better than using Windows tho.
@@vinylmodsmanitoba Well thats good, actually, but WIN is simply such an old crappy OS... Registry, Domain Controllers that are unsave by Design etc .etc ... I simply dont like it. Or the simple fact that Windows installables ship with all there deps. On Linux its the other way around. You have system wide deps. Keeping your Disk Clean... I mean Windows is like 25gb on my disk. Than this ugly UAC Security... Sorry but no.
@@vo9279 Windows is largely legacy dependancies with newer dependancies built on top, which yes IS messy. This is because back in the day OTA updates were not a thing (hence having physical service pack disks for updates) and having baked in backwards compatability for software was a must. Now fast forward to today and being able to use modular repositories for the required software and firmware dependancies on linux makes sense provided you have decent internet speeds.
Linux however is not for everyone JUST yet because many programs and even peripheral hardware are built in a way that ONLY caters to windows. And while its gotten better its still an issue for the average person that isint going to be willing to figure out what works and dosent work for them.
I had been using linux off an on for years before I made the switch entirely, and while its been great it like windows has its own quirks and issues.
I migrated to Linux mint this weekend and boy do I love how it's faster than windows 10
How did you get past the 10000 gate keepers?
Just wait until your first mint update... You can still use the computer! No infinite blue updating screen.

Welcome to the club. Mint is awesome
Well, truly switching to Linux requires some compromises. But with a little determination it is actually possible. Good luck on your new path.
Remember what happened to Douglas Quaid when he went to Recall? It will destroy your life too.
Unfortunately, no Shannon Stone to come home to.
Microsoft : *release recall*
Linux : allow to introduce myself
I don't even get why Microsoft is so enthusiastic about this feature. I mean PR aside, even if you look at it as a company insider, there's no added benefit of adding this feature for the company, it's a security nightmare, the only advantage it serves is for teaching AI how humans use computers. And all of this, just to give users a glorified computer history archive similar to search history.
Windows Recall: When you really have nothing to hide. Because we've already put it out there.

You realize that's literally illegal, right? Get a grip.
You have committed a thoughtcrime
Every frigging time I open the mail the damn thing turns to the new version on and whines if I turn it back to the last version, this "Recall" thing will nag you, shame you, extort you or simply crash the computer if you dont turn it on, every single day, mark my words.
You said it correctly. It is a virus / spyware. It not only steals your info, it also does 50 gb continuous write which lowers your SSD life by 50% and slows down the os a bit.
Hell Windows 11 is already slow enough without it. Even with an i9, 32 GB Memory, and RTX 4000 series card
Nice job with the "it's all 7s" call back.
(Microsoft product key hack from the 90s)
When you realize that Windows 95 is better and safer, you know they effed up.
I'm staying out of Eleven as long as possible, driving Ten until I or my pc pass on.
Good luck with that. They are ending support for it next year; which will make it increasingly more vulnerable to exploits over time. Your best bet is switching to Linux.

running a unsupported OS that isn't getting security updates any more is a big no no.
They will software block every new piece of software that comes. Almost every new software I try to run on Windows 7 gives an "Kernell32 Create File2" error.
It has nothing to do with exploits, that's just a stupid excuse. Windows 7 Enterprise is still the safest OS out there. Why would Windows 11 have "less vulnerable exploits" when it is a literal bloatware full of backdoors? Anyone believing it is because of exploits should take all 8 doses of covid vaccines. Believe science.

Why wait? but if you insist on waiting, start duelbooting now so the transition is easier. and use as much cross-platform software as you can.
Switching at Win 10 EOL had been my plan also, but I drew the line at this Recall crap and switched. Switch now. It'll hurt less than you think, you can dual-boot or keep a separate Win 10 machine around if you need, and you have literally no idea what terrible things they might do to Win 10 and your data, activities, etc. between now and when you would have switched at Win 10 EOL.
Thank you for putting this on my radar. I'm surely going to turn this abomination off when it comes out.
I have 100% certainty that it will turn itself on during some future windows update. The only way to keep Recall from running on your PC is to get rid of Windows. Do it now. Stop enabling Microsoft with your money and eyeballs.
I'm a simple person. I see SamTime I click😂
Why do I have to fight with Windows all the time? Using an OS used to be fun, or at least a tool and not a hindrance. I just started dual booting Linux Mint and it's the best experience I've had with Linux so far (it only took Linux 25 years to become somewhat mainstream friendly 🙄).

Yup. If you use Windows but disable Recall then you'll be on a list. And that's just for starters.
And if you use Windows with Recall enabled then they'll have all of your activity. Win win for big brother!
Just one of many reasons why I don’t do windows!
You could say its a Total Recall
How this feature will be utilized by corporations to help their employees to be focused!?
We need to stay focused brothers!
seriously, I haven’t seen a blue screen or windows’ system components crash for maybe a decade now. what you guys are doing?
The other day I discovered that the win 11 file explorer turns completely unresponsive if you try to access a network drive that is disconnected.
As for system issues, I had trouble with my work computer (win 10) when travelling once which turned out to be caused by Windows not unmounting external drives on poweroff, so depending on the exact version you have if you unplug a usb storage device (in my case and HDD) when the machine is off it will crash just after boot. The way to solve the issue is to plug the device back in prior to booting.
Yeah, that joke was a little unfair.
I've seen more bluescreens in the last decade (eight years, to be exact) than ever before!
Windows 7 bluescreened on me a few times, but that was my fault for messing with the registry and other deep system features, Windows XP never bluescreened on me (I never daily drove it though, only used it for older games), but Wibdows 10, oh boy:
- It bluescreened after OS updates (that you can't hold back, remember?)
- It bluescreened when launching one of my favorite games by Ubisoft (Assassin's Creed Black Flag) for years
- it bluescreened when plugging in any peripheral (tbf, that was a hardware problem
- it bluescreened several times during the Rona years while online matches with friends in Age of Empires II Definite Edition, a game published by Microsoft themselves in 2021/22
- it bluescreened when launching any game for the last several months of me using Windows
- it bluescreened randomly for several other reasons I never even found out.
And in addition to the bluescreens, it also automatically restarted for updates while I was playing games and chatting with friends online several times, despite usage time and group policy guidelines etc all being set to prevent this (but Microshit in their infinite wisdom will ignore these settings if they think that you have been holding back on this broken update they still haven't fixed!), and updates wouldn't install (I literally couldn't update from version 1803 for a year and just recently got a Win10 VM stuck in a bootrepair loop after it's very first (and last) update), or they broke features several times, for example I couldn't print from my desktop computer for a year due to the printspooler service being broken after an update and Windows Update broke my Surface Pro 4's battery managenebt and typecover port, because Surface devices get firnware updates through Windows update, which is INSANE! You don't update firmware unless it's broken or there's a serious security concern, especially when the firmware cones from a manufacturer who doesn't beta-test jack shit anymore and is perfectly fine with leaving a broken FW update on their update servers for several years and never providing a fix because warranty is over! That's why you should NEVER buy a PC from Microsoft, they will f@ck lmup your device's firmware without a care and leave you with an expensive paperweight, because once the firmware is broken, you usually can't just roll back to an older version or ibstall an open source alternative that just works!
Oh, and I've also seen multiple BSODs on my company's computers, with both Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, which are administrated by a big specialized service partner
I was waiting, hoping, and praying, that you would use the fact it's called *RECALL...* for the entire video.

First new feature that I noticed in a release notes that made me drop everything to find out how to disable it.
One more story to add to the fails of windows is what happened two days ago during the chess match between former chess champion Kramnik and young talent Jospen, when they were playing online and a windows update caused troubles and delays so they had to cancel two games.
