X2 carried Magic Mountain
Yeah, having two elite coasters was the deciding factor against SFGAdv.
Actually, Twisted Colossus and Tatsu also helped a lot.

SFMM has my favorite coaster lineup of any park in the country. It’s seems SFMM will be adding a raptor in the near further too, so both of these lineups could be getting even deadlier
Cedar Point's lineup is better.
Os Levandros eh...they’re about the same. Quite a few people would actually give SFMM the edge over CP

I know people hate on clones, but this this will be fun and a good fit.
I still cant make heads ot tails out of the final matchup. Toro and TC are top 10 rides, X2 is my #11 and Nitro is in my top 30, and Ka/Tatsu are both out of my top 50 but ranked around the same spot in my top 100. I guess i would have picked SFMM also just because of X2'S ranking over Nitro
It was really hard to come to a conclusion. I'm probably less high on Nitro and more high on Tatsu than you. But I agree, hard to find a way to justify having one top 15 coaster take down two by itself.
For me, it’s a no brainer. El Toro is the single best coaster in the chain, but the drop-off in quality for the other two makes it a SFMM win easily.
Or put it this way:
SFGAdv = 10 + 7.5 + 7.5 = 25
SFMM = 9 + 9 + 8.5 = 26.5
With jersey devil coaster (problably) opening this year, I think great adventure will have a stronger Big 3

I think Full Throttle could’ve really carried Magic Mountain as the world’s tallest looping coaster and it is my favorite ride in the park. I don’t know why X2 is so popular but when I went on it, I did not have a very good ride experience because it shook a lot and it would’ve been fun if it weren’t for the shaking. I have yet to go to Great Adventure someday, but Kingda Ka looks SOOO fun!!! Jersey’s Devil looks fun too!!!
The fact that magic mountain might be getting an rmc raptor just blows my mind. Not only are they gonna have an amizing top 3 but their entire top 5 is gonna be full of amazing coasters 😍
As of 2017, Nitro is just an incredible ride. i don’t know why it runs so much better now but it’s a super good B&M hyper

People hate on it a lot because it's in the same park as Toro. I'm guilty of this lol.
Seems like Great Adventure had a similar run to Carowinds in the CF tournament: beating out the other parks with an incredible top 1, but being overcome by the flagship's top 2.
X2, Tatsu, and Twisted Colossus are my 1-3, but I haven’t been to Great Adventure. It seems I really need to get over there so I can add more to my top 5!

Yes! X2 is arguably the best coaster in the chain (only rivaled by El Toro) and it's by far the most unique elite coaster in the chain. Magic Mountain is still the king. And if the rest of the coasters in the parks were included then the gap would get even bigger.
That being said, Magic Mountain isn't a perfect park. Let's face it, it isn't the most aesthetically pleasing park to visit. I like the trees and the mountain but it needs some serious up keep. I think Fiesta Texas is the nicest Six Flags park if you are looking beyond the coaster collection. That being said, most people really only care about the coasters when they visit a Six Flags park. If you want ambiance then it's best to go to Disney, Universal, Herschend, Busch Gardens, Knotts or even Cedar Point.
I honestly think Six Flags considers SFOG one of their favorites as of 2023. They gave them 2 different coasters in a single year with Kid Flash and a never seen before Ultra Surf coaster for 2024

U are so right on this 2 Parks are the best in the Six Flags Chain,I love both Parks,Magic Mountain is my Home Park,but Grat Adventure is on my bucket list,and I am going to go visit and have a blast.

The outcome makes sense. El Toro has a slight advantage over either TC or X2, but the advantage either TC or X2 would have over KK or Nitro is far greater. And I think Tatsu is at least at the level of KK or Nitro.
Exactly my reasoning. As good as Ka is, doesn't square up to MM's 2nd. And I agree, Tatsu is as good if not better than Ka.

I think Nitro is fantastic
It’s weird that Tatsu isn’t in my top 5 at MM, but if I were to replace it with the other 3 I’d give GA the win. Tatsu just has a certain it factor going that makes it a must ride on a 1st time visit.

If you’re going to do it like a basketball tournament, next time make it FIVE coasters since every team has 5 starters. I think it’ll be far more interesting that way. You picked the 3 you thought were tops in each park, and of course everyone will have differing opinions on which ones should be in there...but with 5 coasters, it gives each park a better shot.
Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoyed this series, but from the first round of both the Six Flags and Cedar Fair battles, it was obvious Cedar Point and Magic Mountain would win.
So you think the outcome would have been different if SFMM got to add Full Throttle and West Coast Racers? They would have blown out everyone.
The issue is you just make the curve that much steeper because most the parks don't have 5 quality coasters, so it just becomes easier for Magic Mountain and Great Adventure to fly on through to the finals.
SFMM really would have blew SFGA out of the water if five coasters were picked (Superman would have gone almost neck and neck with Kingda Ka and SFGA doesn't have anything that compares to Full Throttle/nor West Coast Racers).
I watched all of this to know the winner from the start! I love Great Adventure! I hope Jersey Devil changes something!

I’m sorry but when Jersey Devil opens, SFGAV wins EASILY. Toro is top 10 coaster in the world. Jersey Devil should be Top 20 in the world (if the pacing holds up). And 3rd Nitro is a decent hyper
And then a year later when that Single Train clone gets sent to SFMM, you guys get hit harder, because now while nitro has to go up against a world-class coaster like X2.
It’s soooooooooo funny how my both fav six flags park went against each other six flags magic mountain and six flags over Texas but even tho six flags flags magic mountain has A better coaster line up then six flags over Texas i prefer six flags over Texas for a reason Six flags over Texas is good at keep there park and different parts of the world and each continent but six flags magic mountain don’t and also six flags magic mountain is not really the best of making there park look clean if I’m honest the The 2 most prettiest parts of magic mountain is where Goliath is or where the water fall is by new revolution other then that I just think over Texas is more pretty and I will like to enjoy the rides and the park layout instead of just the rides which I can enjoy the rides and the park layout at over Texas and at Magic mountain I only enjoy the rides and let’s see here we gotta allll speak faxs that magic mountain has the worst food line up at a six flags park i total I think they have 5 restaurants in the park while over Texas has a new restaurant every where u turn so that’s a credit we have to get. Great adventure should have won wtf el toro easily knocks out tatsuand maybye X2 kingda ka is also better than tatsu but not X2 and El toro is better than twisted collosus So in my opinion X2 should be at the top of the big three Geez some coaster enthusiasts praise RMC's to much ya know
robby cantel it wasn’t about one coaster. He said that El Toro was the best coaster. The line up was just better a MM for that match up. X2 carries MM

Kind of just depends on your opinion of X2. If you love it, MM wins. If you're iffy on it, I think GA wins. It's one of my favorite coasters, so that was enough to put it over the top for MM.
