I personally think that understanding our spouse is not the key. In fact you explained that most of our parent barely know their selves before getting together, so wanting to understand a person should come last. Yes. The most important thing for me, is understanding the purpose of marriage, and the commitment to achieve that purpose. You can understand people with time but if you are not committed to seeing it to the last, then nothing lasting can be obtained.
Wow 👏 👏👏 very well thought out! I gree, Understanding the purpose of the marriage and the commitment to achieve it is key! very profound!!! Thanks for your support 🙏
Such a Timely message. Had myself thinking similarly after observing that there is less divorce in the communities around me that practice arranged marriages. For some reason the concept of Dating and marrying for love seems not to work as we hoped it should. Whether you date short term or long term the end point leans towards an eventual break up in many cases today. For sure the dating current scene calls for a different approach to guarantee some hope for a hapily ever after. And this i believe can only be achieved not by love but by the act of choosing your partner based on similar core values, principles and family backgroud. The Family background helps paint a picture of someones foundation and their personal core values and principles will inform you of the person they have become independent of their family & society. Love comes at the end, when you have processed and evaluated ones worthiness of you. Then and only then can you intelligently and soberly Choose! To love them because love is a choice after all.
Excellently structure 👏👏 You have said all. I completely agree with your comment, Love is truly a choice. Family core values and principles plays a huge role in our lives. Thanks for your brilliant comment and support!
Despite adversity, many mothers choose to remain in marriages for various reasons. They may prioritize the stability and well-being of their children, believing that a two-parent household is essential for their emotional and psychological development. Cultural and societal pressures can also influence a mother’s decision to stay in a marriage, as divorce may carry significant stigma or legal and financial consequences especially in our Nigeria society. Many women decided to stay in a marriage because they believe, a father’s presence and nurturing provide emotional support and security for children. For some reason, fathers establish a safe and stable home environment, fostering a sense of belonging and self-worth. It’s always the Nigerian culture that believes a woman is meant to build a home. How about we both build it together as man and wife.
Brilliant points 👏 I enjoyed reading your analysis because you narrowed down why most Women might decide to stay in marriages, which by the way are very realistic factors especially in our culture. Yes I agree that both should build the home but in reality the work lies more on the woman. Thanks for your comment!
Some lady dont have the same home values the mother has. And the rapid change in our world out cast the little home training some got.....am a victim of wrong wife😢😢 and the reason is i never had the opportunity to choose for myself so i missed it this first time but am sure i wont get it wrong the second time. Looking for a wife in nija while out of nija has cost me alot in my life....this time i will be there myself.
In the western world there are many western cultural factors that negatively affect marriages. Those too are the reasons why some marriages sometimes don’t last. Western culture & overbearing government interference in relationships between men and women are negatives for marriage. There are too many instances where the extended family and friends are better at settling misunderstandings, but the western way is to call the Police…..that’s what kills marriages mostly. The black woman is quick to call the police on her man …
