The way he dealt with that whole experience was just, real. He knew it was close, we all did. It all came down to how highly you score takedowns. I was always on the doing damage side. So I was happy. I feel like I am in the minority though, so he got lucky with the judges. Khabib was acting like a takedown is the same as a knockdown. We need to sort this idea out imo. Nah like most freelance journalists Ariel is a waste of space. He brings negativity to the sport in my eyes. He's a WWE fan not a UFC fan, that's what he's spent 15 years trying to turn MMA into. Paddy on the other hand is inspiring an entire community of kids where i am from, to work hard and better themselves, keep their heads down and stay away from DRAMA. Paddy offered Ariel an interview, he declined, he continued to put Paddy's name in his mouth. Also for all Dana's faults, Ariel still wouldn't have a career without him or the UFC or fighters like Paddy. He misquotes fighters regularly and always wants to spark controversy and more DRAMA. Love Sean but hard disagree on this occasion.

Now I consider sugar a company man and a great representative of the UFC. it's nice to see he's not a nut Tugger and has an opinion that is fair of Ariel. Ariel's a good journalist, he's passionate about the UFC and it's lucky to be able to report on something he enjoys and you can tell a lot of Fighters like him. That says a lot because it's not a journalist job to be liked it's their job to report and in a lot of cases it doesn't leave them having many friends. Or that's the way it used to be the one thing you should be able to expect from a journalist is honesty. Their job definition is to seek and Report the truth. Most other outlets from socials to major networks are totally pimped out in spewing fear media or brand promotion. thanks for keeping it real Ariel. A lot of people are bringing up Nick Diaz having beef with Ariel along with Rampage but nobody wants to talk about Nate Diaz who I go as far to say Nick shows helwani alot more love then other sports reporters.
helwani has done some other good journalistic work there's a hilarious thing from Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel where Ariel covered some national bird watching competition and did so while taking the birders seriously with some added "🐦chirps" that were more friendly than offensive.

He knows the truth of whats going on, but because he's personally benefiting from it on the higher end of the pay scale now, he can't speak about it.
Also it's interesting how all the big name fighters being promoted claim to "like" eachother, and why is that? because they're all sleeping in the same bed with Dana, they have to play nice with eachother, like back when Conor/Ronda/etc acted buddy-buddy when they really didnt even know eachother.
