  • Most people who walk through Central Park, New York, from tourists to lifelong New Yorkers, have no idea of the history under their feet.
In the early 1800s, New York City was filling up and expanding rapidly. People were desperate for ways to escape the city’s chaos. That urgent need for peaceful green space led to the creation of Central Park, which would become a national treasure and model for weaving nature into the big city.
But that version of the story leaves out a lot of important information.
For one thing, this area in the heart of Manhattan was and is the ancestral homeland of the Lenape people. For another, Central Park’s development was only possible because of the forced displacement of Seneca Village, Manhattan’s first significant settlement of Black property owners.
Some might say the creation of Central Park represents the racism and discrimination against blacks that still haunts the United States today.
In this video, we'll uncover the reasons behind the destruction of Seneca Village. We'll talk about the successful black people who were there, revealing a history that is hidden and meant to be forgotten. It's a heartbreaking story that needs to be heard and remembered.
Join me on a transformative journey as we honour our black ancestors and reclaim our world through the lens of Africa. Through engaging dialogue, we will explore the rich tapestry of African history, culture, and worldview, discovering their profound relevance in our lives today. Together, we will share our thoughts and knowledge, fostering a new culture of awareness and reclaiming our collective narrative.
Let's celebrate the vibrant heritage and enduring legacy of Africa, forging a path of enlightenment and unity. Together, we can shape a future rooted in understanding, respect, and shared heritage.

No one discredits accomplishments. It's just. In current times. The respectable balance is off. Why are Walmarts and Target stores closing? Yea... it's not the respectable people ruining it, it's the big city majority making everyone look a certain way... stop breaking the fkkn laws and go to school. It's not the well raised kids making people look bad. Take care of your community, fix your issues. Stop defending people bc "they had a hard life" that idiot made a choice. Let him "catch" the case he tossed to himself. Criminal charges aren't an accident. The families crying ooh my poor baby. Your poor baby made shit choices and ended up where the delinquent belongs. America is a downright Shithole.

Central Park do have open space for us 'youngsters' to enjoy. Once at the Park we began to notice how rude, and disrespectful they where. We were 'just children'...but the looks, and nasty words said was shocking to us! I could say more. Yeah, I know of Seneca, it's history told from my Dad...'dirty evil stuff'
