Sweet looking car. I got to ride in cars like this when I was in England several years ago. I'd buy one myself if I knew where they were sold, and can be serviced. My favourites have the steering wheel on the right-hand side of the car, and have diesel engines. Nice sounding diesel engine. Perfect for driving around town.
Has you taxi got a London registration plate? Or a Met Police Conditions of Carriage notice in the passenger compartment or a Met Police number plate (that's the number in black on white UNDER the registraton plate)? If it has NEITHER of these, then it ISN'T a London taxi. Black cabs don't just operate in London you know...they're all over the UK!
Dunno if you guys gives a shit but if you're bored like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all of the latest movies and series on instaflixxer. Been streaming with my girlfriend lately :)
Congratulations wonderfull, does your Taxi have a Rover (British Leyland) Diesel 2,25 Litre or Perkins 2,5 Litre ? 60 or 75 or 90HP ? ;-) Nice taxi, we have a 1984 FX4R with 2,25 Litre Rover Diesel and BW40 Auto Box, sounds very similar to yours, we just love that car. The 1984 was the last FX4 with those chrome bumpers, later ones had the ugly square type of plastic bumbers.
Because your particular cab was registered in London (and, by the way, where's the Canadian licence plate, because I can't fucking SEE one), it CAN be called a 'London' cab.
When I got my badge back in 96 this was the first taxi I drove. They were still going strong. Glad to see one in fantastic nick and still being used.
Amazingly according to the DVLA site this cab has a current MOT certificate (Issued August 2021) so it must have been reimported to the UK

Jason Carpp The channel M193 Motors has a good old London taxi should check it out
@@michaelbull8906 If there was a link to that channel, I'd gladly check it out.
@@jasoncarpp7742 sure no problem. ruclips.net/channel/UCBAjE3JyNoetzuRCb89H6WA
It's quite run down but still a good old taxi
that reg plate would be worth ££'s in England
Nice FX4 although a few clues date it as post 1978, but tidy all the same.
74 with 80s front bumper
Hello
The taxi has been sold to a gentleman in Georgia.
Where in Ontario are you? I'm in Toronto and have a 1994 London Cab, I drive mine everywhere. How do you like yours?
