These are indeed 'genuine clay' meaning they are top of the line clay composites from Paulson, the casino industry standard. Their weight is 9-10 grams which is also what actual casino chips tend to weigh. Metal slugged plastic chips advertised as "genuine casino weight" tend to be 13 grams which is absurdly heavy.
@@chrismanzoni3586 Wouldn't expect anything less. I am working with classic poker chips at the moment ton a custom chip set which loosely follows the Aurora Style thanks to your video. Not sure of any other company I can go to that still do genuine 10g (approx) clays. Don't ever give up that AS set. Unless it's to me... :)
@@Mike-fx6ep They aren't available for purchase by conventional means. You have to keep an eye out on eBay or the PC forum classifieds. For a 500 piece set you are looking at anywhere between $1500-2000. But the price really just depends on the seller as there is no rrp ofcourse
I know this is an old video so you might not see this but I have a question about something you said. With big blind ante you don’t need quarters. Is that because you’re starting with a lot of chips and the blinds are already too high to use the 25s? Because a tournament with t25 as the lowest chip can easily go 25/25, 25/50, 50/75, 50/100, 75/150 etc and get a lot of play with the 25s
You are correct, and in fact that is what I do in my tournament with those T25 levels that you describe, but if you want to save money and not have to buy so many chips, you can simply dispense with them and instead of all those levels you mentioned, you can start at 100/100 then add a big blind anti-100/100/100, then go 100/200/200 etc
What do you recommend for a beginner that wants to hold a tournament with the just (4) close friends. I need a poker chip set, preferably 14 gram clay that will not break the bank. Any suggestions?
14g chips are not clay. Those are plastic with a metal slug in the middle. Go with the monte carlos if you really want those from Apache poker. If you want clay chips CPC is really your only option and in that case cheap goes out the window 🤣
What I’ll never understand with the “poker chip collector” types is why they like make believe casino names. These chips would be even better if they had just a nicely designed inlay with the denominations. Like the Paulson Noirs …greatest chips ever
Because that wasn't the point of the boat chips. And really the boat chips had to be designed like this because of the way they were purchased, if you know the story of how these were made it makes more sense
Chris, these chips are nothing short of stunning. Love the AS chips!
These are beautiful. Best tournament chips I’ve ever seen.
Amazing chips! Colors are vivid and absolutely stunning! I wish I could have 350 set of these! Superb ones! 🔥☺👍
Are they genuine real clay, and what is the chip weight? These are beautiful.

These are so nice. Are these available anywhere for purchase? Would you mind sharing how much these were? I’m curious haha.
